Son Of Beast being dismantled?!?!
What a beautiful structure-and a horrible ride. Regardless of what they do with it, I took my last ride October 2008. Was miserable and painful. I know I'm the minority, but it needs to go.

I don't see what this has to do with Screechin' Eagle or the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake... Or not up, as the case may be.... Terpy, running for the door.... Very interesting

Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day
Yeah, I could see that. I tell ya, I have a lot of respect for the job lifeguards do. Thats a tough job and they do it well.

Smoking Areas
I quit 15 years ago. Most of the time I dont care for the smell, but once in a while it smells really good. It was so addictive-even after all this time, I can crave one, but I dont do it-it passes. I quit cause I couldn't breathe, and also got tired of the cost. The asthma I now have wasn't worth it.

Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day
I work in Sharonville, and had a heck of a time getting home. Roads were flooded and impassable, and everytime I found an alternate route, same thing. People were driving through the water-one car was an old subaru, and the water was clear up almost over the hood-why it didn't stall, I dunno. I didn't attempt it in my forester. I agree they should have closed. I havent seen the news, so I guess I need to look that up about the Beach.

I live about 2 miles from the park, and we are in the middle of another gullywasher. It is absolutely pouring.

Cedar Point 2010 Changes
Sorry Hank, I had to chuckle a little about the boob comment , speaking of which Firehawk is definitely not female friendly . Anyway, I am not perfect-I'm not 5'7", 130 lbs, 36, 24, 26, etc-and I'm ok with that. I still fit in all the coasters, even though I have gained alot the last 3 years. I dont put anyone down for being big, but thats just me. I am ok with my size and others for who they are, and if no one else likes it, tough. Those that can't accept others for who they are, well, I have no use for that type of shallow viewpoint.

You'll learn. Youth breeds arrogance. At 28, I'm out of my youth years. If you say so.

Ohio: Tourism spending slipped in ’09
Hopefully, it won't be as rainy this summer. That thwarted a lot of my plans.

Cedar Point 2010 Changes
I would love to be taller-not gonna happen. Still, talking about having a hard time losing weight in the late 20's? Wait til you're in your mid 40's. I ride a bike 8-9 hours once to twice a week, and its not coming off. In fact, its turning to muscle and that is not going away short of starvation. Millenium, you are just shy a foot taller than me. Much easier to lose weight over 6' tall. I have to work twice as hard for speed in running and biking, throw in some asthma, and I am limited on what I can do endurance wise.

Cedar Point 2010 Changes
Except Rosa Parks didn't have control of what she did, and you do! That is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard. Comparing what African Americans went through to having too big of a stomach to fit on a roller coaster. And you just corrected yourself..you said you lost an inch on your waist...yet you want bigger seats?? If you lost an inch on your waist it would be EASIER to get in a seat. Not discrimination. At all. This is out of hand. Here is a pic of an average size person approx. 1910. This was taken by my ancestor in Alaska. Take note-the dogs have not grown taller, but people have. This man is probably as tall as I am, approx. 5'2". This is partial proof people are bigger now than 100 years ago, and manufacturers have not kept up with the changes.

Cedar Point 2010 Changes
Since I'm on a roll today, I may as well go a little further . Look at pics of people from the early 1900's to now. They were shorter and lighter than today. Marilyn Monroe, for example, was a size 12 but everyone in the business talks about how attractive she was and all. Today's models are expected to be size 4 and near death to be attractive. The clothing industry has not modified their template to fit people of today's size. I buy xlg shirts (not plus) and a lot of times they are too small. Go figure. I refuse to feel bad for what size I am, so tough. I do think trains and such need to be modified to today's population.

Cedar Point 2010 Changes
I agree completely. Everyone knows how short I am and I am the same height as my father. (Well, now with aging he may be an inch taller than me) Point being, people are getting wider, but they are also getting taller. There are more nutrients in food, and its more widely available than when I was young. My father survived on beans and cornbread six days a week, which probably has a lot to do with his short stature. No matter what you do, some folks will not lose the weight, period-thyroid, genetics or lack of exercise. Even now all you can get are desk jobs for a decent wage, and that contributes to weight. Remember the days when Beast had no seat dividers? Personally, I think they need to go. It serves absolutely no good purpose. I often wonder what one of my coworkers does-at 6"10", I wonder if he fits on rides at all. I could just imagine the hell of leg room on Vortex and such. I am tired of the weight loss discussion too. Perhaps people should look at the chemicals and preservatives in food that is contributing to the inability to lose. Exercise builds muscle, it doesn't always help with weight loss. Plus a 20 something is going to lose it quicker than a 40 something like myself-I have to do double what a 20 something does for any progress.

Purses on Kings Island Coasters
There are things I have to carry with me at all times i.e. diabetes supplies. Leaving it in the car isn't an option for me. Yes, that's a problem. It is a hassle with the cost of the lockers for those who have to carry supplies.

Boomerang Bay Now Open For Season
I'm not a fan of water parks, but it has to be pretty hot for me to go-and last year it wasn't. If it's close to 100 I will go, otherwise not. I do like the bay though, and I will dip my feet in the wave pool on the cooler days.

Purses on Kings Island Coasters
Leave it in the trunk of your car, and only take your pass and put it in a zippered pocket. That's how I do it. Until the park provides lockers at no charge for short term use, that to me is the most sensible option. Honestly, that would be a great thing to do for guests at the park and wouldn't cost Cedar Fair that much-2 bucks for a locker is plain robbery.

Coaster and Park Questions?
You know, that does worry me somewhat. Two years ago I saw a doe standing next to the track just before the second lift hill, and she was very comfortable with the train rolling by.

This Little Train of Ours
I am sorry I missed it- I missed the whole thread until it was too late. Great pics-I especially enjoyed the one of all the steam. I would have enjoyed the mechanics of it.

New details on the trainer's death at Sea World Orlando
Not surprising. Animals are animals, and you just can't predict what they will do. My wolf got agitated the last year of his life, and I decided it was too big of a liability, so I had him euthanized. I could have chanced it and he would still be here today, but it wasn't worth the risk of mine or anyone else's safety.

OFFICIAL! Son of Beast Will NOT Operate in 2010
Sorry to be so blunt, but good riddance. I have never enjoyed it, and my last ride on it was sheer hell. It was a great idea, just didn't pan out-reminds me of Bat, and its had more chances than it should have had.

Kings Island - Photos of Things Now Gone
well I hate to say this, I really do, but sometimes its the tragic scenarios that help make things safer for the rest of us. I hate saying that I really do, but in could be considered that her death helped save future lives. Now it seems a no brainer that on a ride where you may slide out you should be snug into the ride, empty seats should be locked down etc. But who knows if she was not at .3 would she still have slid out? and was it .3 or .03? because if it was .3 that means she (average female body weight in the the 130s) means she had about 10 beers in a very short time.... BAC Level Impairments 0.30–0.39 behavior Issues Severe CNS Depression Unconsciousness Death Possible Impairments Bladder Function Breathing Heart Rate I can't imagine even being conscious at that level; besides, it affects people differently. One can be a royal ass, another person can be calm and seem normal. I know a guy with a neurological disorder, and he actually has better control of his movements and speech under the influence. Personally, I think flaming a new member in the manner done on this thread is a little over the top. If you have an issue with someone, PM them, don't publicly humiliate them on here. Unless you were there and personally witnessed the accidents, how can any of us know for sure the exact events that happened? I dont believe the conspiracy thing, as the saying goes **** happens-it was just a bad day with a string of horrible events that could not be foreseen.
