  1. I'd like to see more break-down of these polls by age and gender. For example, I find many Son of Beast haters who admit to horrible experiences are adults like me both male and female. It seems like most of the Son of Beast lovers are teenage males. Is this true or is it just my imagination? You hit the nail on the head. Son is a young person's coaster.
  2. I second that!! Hot fudge at midnight absolutely rulez....... And Justin, dont feel bad...I am painfully shy.
  3. Monster-if I ride it, I will vomit. I would like to try Round up at coney, but dont for the same reason.
  4. I have only been on a caterpillar during one summer in my life-I thought that was a really unique thing. I bet they're high maintenance though. All of these parks are making me want to support the mom and pops, which I have been doing this summer.
  5. I hope your grandmother starts doing better. Also, I hope you have a LOT of fun ! Thanks much. She is terminal, but its ok-we have all accepted it and we're just making her time as special as possible. I am really lucky to have had her in my life As for strickers, will be my first time...and I cant wait!!!!
  6. I may pop over to Coney for a bit today, but definitely plan on Strickers tomorrow. Unfortunately, I wont be staying for the fireworks-I will be going to my dad's to spend it with my uncle who is leaving for Colorado at the end of the month, and my grandmother who is ill. I have missed this time the past few years working at KI, and this year is very special having all of us together one last time.
  7. I have not been on one of those since it was at KI-I think I'm gonna hit it sometime this summer. It was one of my favs back in the day.
  8. Don't quote me on this, but I have a friend who worked haunt 2007, and out of the blue he had relatives come in and they decided to go to the park last year. So he went into human resources to check it, and received them. It's worth a shot.
  9. Yeah, I agree with gma on the dress code, but thats for another topic. I did get a kick out of her falling asleep though!! As Terpy states, enjoy time with her-you never know when it may be the last. I took the folks, separately since they are divorced, in 2007 and we had a ball. Neither one could ride as much as when we all went growing up, but such is life.
  10. What a nice place it appears to be. I would love one more ride on the tumble bug
  11. Just my personal taste, but there's nothing scary about dead awakening. Pure and simple its a hootchie show. If I want to see something like that, I'll go to the Oregon district. Entertainment like that is going to draw a certain crowd, and the way some guests are dressing reflects that.
  12. Club Blood and Dead Awakening come to mind. I have seen women come in in the skirts and high heels for the waterpark. Only reason I can think for someone to do that is to "hook up".
  13. You got that right. I am so sick of exposed butt cracks I could puke. And whats up with holding the crown jewels? Pure indecency.....
  14. I'm sorry, I disagree. I can ride Beast all day long and actually feel better-I have arthritis-there is truth to what Ms. Voss said. I go on Son and come off in terrible pain. It is not an enjoyable coaster by any means.
  15. How sad. I don't see the beginning of the recovery personally. I think our standard of living is going to be less than it ever was from here on.
  16. That would have been cool. As far as noise goes-I lived in the flight path of Oceana NAS for 4 years-every 3 minutes, they would fly directly over the house and land. Every summer they would have an air show as well, and the Blue Angels would do their thing and pass over the house with what seemed a few feet of clearance. The first month being there was rough, but you adapt. I cant imagine a helicopter being that bad....
  17. Exactly. I go to the park these days to walk for exercise. It's the safest place I can think of to go alone.
  18. I agree wholeheartedly!! With my recent family issues, I appreciate the elders more every day as well as their stories-and realize that will soon come to an end. Some of my best childhood memories were spent with them and hearing about their lives growing up.
  19. Oh my! I'm not very PC. Yes a lot of parents are afraid to discipline their kids in public these days, and the kids know this. My generation got paddled, and what not in public or wherever else, and most of us turned out ok. I think we have some sense of respect for others. Telling guest relations is one thing, and good, however, theres only so much you can do after the fact-the guilty party is long gone. I agree with Sparky in how he handled it. Personally, I would prefer the ride ops to keep an eye on the ride-distraction could cause a tragedy like Kentucky Kingdom. I still think security should be more of a presence than they are. I dont go on the weekends anymore because its out of control-there are more families at the park during the week. The fact that some on here dont find this a big deal tells me that those folks themselves dont know line jumping is wrong.
  20. And less tolerance for such! KI has also become a babysitter. We constantly see kids under 12 who become separated from their friends who are also under 12 and are scared to death. One kid just last weekend was wandering around the parking lot alone and crying-only 11 years old. Luckily a nice lady brought him back into the park so his parents could be called-he only knew his home number, not the cell. I wonder how that came out. I have seen kids as young as 4 walking around alone-the parents are too busy with their own lives to give a crap about the kids and figure taking them to the park gives them a break. Some are even irritated when they are called. AS far as the rowdy teens go, yeah, I agree with the earlier post about the sense of entitlement, but there are adults who think that way as well. When I was young and KI was only 2-3 years old, we went once a year and saved up for the trip-it was a special family day. I agree season passes have ruined a lot of things. IN all honesty, I will only go to the park during the week now because of the issues mentioned in this thread. I dont have much tolerance for any of this these days.
  21. Sounds like a nice place, I haven't been there. Problem with KI is a lot of the clientele that comes into the park these days-that is something no park can control. Go on July 4th in the evening-'nuff said.
  22. I couldnt hear anything at the gate due to the sirens, the storm itself, and people being loud every time lightning struck. Only way I knew what was going on was when the sirens started.
  23. Couldnt see anything well enough to take pics-I was under the metal awning at the front gate throughout the storm, and when the sideways wind came in, we all got drenched. Everytime it would stop everything got still and eerie and then it would downpour again. I was in the Xenia tornado of '74 and same thing happened then as well. It also got really cold and the last time the humidity started to rise again. Back to the original question, I dont know of anyone that took pics at the park, but Faeriewench got a pic of a funnel cloud at her house. I am hoping she posts it.
