  1. You might think that, but you wouldn't necessarily be right. Tornadoes are strange beasts, and can totally demolish everything in their path, while leaving other things totally untouched.... This is true-I have seen pics of playing cards piercing through wood and things like that. It was bad tonight-I am soaked and just now getting warm from being in it.
  2. Well said, and I agree wholeheartedly. I am tired and that is all I'm going to say about it.
  3. I dont think this is a case of discrimination by any means. An employer has the power to dictate how their employees dress, and this is just another example. I have a tattoo that expresses my culture-Cedar Fair has a no tattoo policy. I dont flaunt it while I'm working and cover it up, same as I do at my full time job. The workplace is not somewhere to express your individuality, and this is just a fact of life. Ever been to a Grateful Dead concert? Most of them have dreads, and a lot of those people havent showered in quite some time. Eeewww!!! There are some folks that keep them clean, but others that don't, and in order to be fair across the board, I think they made this rule to prevent sloppiness.
  4. I will be limiting my trips to evenings during the week personally. It is no longer enjoyable for me to go on the weekends.
  5. I have been spit on in one of the loops on Vortex.....if I had been sure of the offender, I would have been ejected..... NASTY!!!!!!
  6. I have noticed they turned the volume down at the front gate (thank God), the sound system throughout the park seems to have been upgraded, and the park in general just seems to be much cleaner than even last year.
  7. I hate to think about all the nasties out there; however, I have read that our obsession with cleanliness can also break down our resistance to disease...so I guess to find a good balance is the key. I think the best thing to do would be to wipe down the restraints and such nightly. I usually wash my hands periodically throughout the day at the park anyway, restroom or not.
  8. Oh, by the way, those new hand dryers in the bathrooms suck. I've seen a lot of people not be able to figure them out, and if you do, people like me with glasses, you end up getting the water all over them. The bathrooms that still have paper towels in them, it takes forever to get enough to do the job. Hopefully after tomorrow, I won't have to worry about the splashing on the glasses as I'm getting contacts.
  9. I noticed this ink is rotten as well. I went to ruby tuesday after getting the stamp-washed my hands, and the whole thing came off. Funny thing is, its a green blob now, but unreadable.
  10. I think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion. Sure, its very contagious and all, but does anyone remember the Hanta virus that was on the reservations out west years ago? That was a bad one...this is too, but we're going to see more of this in years to come with overcrowding and such. TB is making a comeback too.
  11. I dont mind it either to be honest.
  12. Reopening SFNO would be foolish-the whole city is on borrowed time anyway. As I said in a previous post, I had relatives barely escape with their lives in Slidell, and the fact they went back and lived in the fema trailer up until a year ago baffles me. One cousin is so traumatized from it, he stayed here in Ohio, and is still struggling. I would never live in a bowl. Why dump millions of dollars into a property in such a major flood zone, when it could happen again?
  13. I didn't go to senior prom either, but unlike most I didn't regret it. I went as a junior-but it just isn't my thing.
  14. Bring back the kitties!!!! Does anyone know where I could watch those again?
  15. Even though I worked late and didn't meet up with you guys til about 7, I will have to say those 3 hours were probably one of the best times I've had at the park. Thanks a bunch!! Not sure if I will make RWW, but I am open to a more impromptu gathering this summer...
  16. And words I wouldn't dare repeat on here....being in the service industry, I get my ass reamed at least once a day-and harrassed-it gets old. One idea that used to be in Beavercreek was the graffitti bridge-alot of you younger folk don't know about it, but there used to be a bridge in Beavercreek that we all painted on-legally. Police even looked the other way if they drove up and saw kids painting on it. They tore it down in 1984 I believe to make way for I 675. There was a memorial painting right before it was removed-and now the graffitti is all over town. Even though sharpies are not allowed in the park, perhaps a wall should be erected somewhere in the park to allow those artists to draw. Once a month, paint it white again. May not be feasible, but graffitti was not a problem in Beavercreek when that bridge was up. It sickens me that carvings are already in the new wood...scum lake was an eyesore before, and now it is beautiful with the waterfall. But you all are right-most people just don't give a darn about others property. It's too cool to spit, litter, carve and swear-and wear your pants around your knees

I don't like that area of the park..its creepy. Just gonna wait and see what they do with it.
  19. I remember you now. My apologies, I am absolutely horrible with names!!
  20. One final thought.....I really really loved seeing the gift shop open again...just like I remembered it from the 70's
  21. Nah, smooth as silk. Best coaster I've ever been on-all through the day, every train that came back to the station had riders clapping-this has been the biggest success yet....
  22. I ended up doing overtime at my job so I got there late. Late in the day, indianopolisman saw me, introduced me to ibewsparky, and then we met up with avatar, violoakat03, ogrmac, and a couple others-I apologize guys, names escape me terribly, but I won't forget faces. Those 2 1/2 hours were probably the best time I have had at the park-just an awesome day. I am sore as hell!
  23. Heh heh...guy in white shirt and tan pants looks like hes about to hurl.... Good one though.
  24. That pic of SFNO is awful..who can blame them for not wanting to dump the money into it? I think New Orleans is a mistake anyway..I mean, how much sense does it make to build a city in a dried out bowl......and Katrina was natures way of trying to get us to realize that. I had stubborn relatives in Slidell who barely escaped with their lives-they were in a closet and were neck deep in water when the storm finally passed...they crawled to the top of the small closet to escape and scatttered in several states before being reunited. My distant cousin stayed up here..he is afraid to go back.....
  25. They're outrageous. I avoid areas that have them-and one person Iknow that challenged it, won the case. So why bother with it? All they do is increase rear ending accidents
