  1. Looks good. I am attempting a download right now-moving slow.....
  2. It started raining toward the end of the tour-personally, I am trying to dry out and get warm
  3. I saw a guy playing his sax-with both hands-on highway 101 in California. Same year another guy was shaving.
  4. And the $5 gas prevents in park sales. It's never a good thing.
  5. Cost wise, it didnt make sense for me to drive to the park from dayton...but now that I'm closer, it is fine. This year should be better in that respect-which is good, my car is tired.
  6. No..my grandfather was an auto worker decades ago. I applied in 1995 to moraine, but didn't get in. Glad I didn't now.
  7. Unfortunately, a degree is not a guarantee of employment. After my latest attempt, it hasn't made one bit of difference in my career, and now I have more debt. Wasn't worth it. Networking, and good work ethic is more important these days. You have to start at the bottom, no matter what. My abilities in my current job are not the best, but I think I survived solely because I show up every day, am pleasant (now theres a shocker!), and I do what I'm told, period. Some of my tasks really stink, and I hate it, but my employer doesn't know that. If you are willing to do the tasks no one else wants, that will make you valuable in any job.
  8. This whole thing makes me sick. I dont see much restraint of the bears at the cincy zoo-does anyone really think any type of restraint would keep an animal in place if it is being picked at? The kids were irresponsible, and unfortunately paid the worst price. Thats a lawsuit that shouldn't have been-the whole thing would not have happened if they had been responsible to begin with.
  9. And that's why I left last month. The place I lived had a mugging, and my car was hit twice. I didnt feel safe where I lived, plus what is there to stay for? I sold my house for the same reason. I dont think anyone realizes how bad it is in dayton. As for the current economy, I agree with Terpy-I dont remember it being this bad then. I'm just gonna sit tight and wait it out-and when things get bad here, I'll move again. weird, last year my fathers car was attacked, and i live in an upper-class neighborhood where houses normaly go for more than half-a-million and HOA fees are about $750. things truely are getting bad It wasnt like that when I first moved to that place..and I was right by the association building-mostly kids racing in the lot, but we did have some suspicious folks walking around. But with frickers being burned down, gm closed, and everything else, its gonna get worse before it gets better. The first time my car get hit, my neighbor got in a shouting match with the offender and told him to stay put, but by the time I got out there he was gone. wow thats horrible, was it in the moraine area? Surprisingly, it was the 'burg. Just goes to show no one is immune when times are bad. I left dayton just in time..my old job location is preparing for a round of layoffs in about 2 weeks...
  10. My regular job is a desk job now *blah*, and I work at the park to get outside and be on my feet and such. Honestly, its been a lot of fun and its a good place to work-plus you meet a lot of people, and I have even seen people I have lost track of!!

  13. Huh. I guess time will tell. I dont think any company is doing really well right now except healthcare, and believe me, its not all roses there either.
  14. I had forgotten about that flag. I have a pic somewhere from high school on that same ride, but in all honesty, I havent seen it in years, and may not even have it now....
  15. It was great meeting you as well!! I enjoyed the pics..I brought my camera and meant to take more, but I got so wrapped up in that walk through the snow that I forgot a lot of it. It was pretty refreshing after sweltering in the lodge. I tried to get a pic of the iced up trees, but the beauty of it just sidetracked me. Great report!
  16. They'll survive-but things are going to be very rough for everyone for the next year or so. The high food prices dont help with internal sales.....
  17. I love tulips..I'm going to really watch for that this year
  18. Very interesting pamphlet. In one past position, we were very discouraged from being photographed, however, out in public, how can it really be stopped? Someone talented in photoshop can really do some damage to someones reputation with a photo on the internet...I've seen it happen. As far as going onto abandoned property...well, that to me is pretty risky and quite dangerous.
  19. Delta sucks. I will not fly with them ever again either.
  20. And be on time...that's a biggie. Just be yourself and you'll do fine
  21. I love that metal hum it still makes to this day....
  22. I seem to recall the original design being more comfy, but I figured it was age...
  23. Huh. They just seem smaller to me-but maybe that is because of the divider in the middle.
  24. Whatever happened to the original trains? I've never heard....
  25. Three way tie for me-bavarian beatle, antique cars, and rotor. Those were always fun no matter what.
