  1. It's strange, I have even seen lone tombstones in areas with development all around it-just enough room for the casket and stone.
  2. Eventually that house is going to fall down and then what? Out where my grandmother is there are plenty of abandoned cemeteries and with urban sprawl I always wonder what is going to happen to them. If no one is here to claim them or what not I can see a developer finding a way to get in there and have it "relocated".
  3. Oh my God!! Ijust choked
  4. Even though the media is still downplaying all of this financial mess, (and yes it is worse than they are saying) I can tell you I am pretty worried about the future of a lot of things, including KI. Without going too far off topic, people are foregoing medical treatment due to cost, and I can tell you I have cut back on it myself. I am not buying any stock..cause I think we still have a way to go before we hit rock bottom...and once that happens, I will go there but only on necessary stock-utility, healthcare (even though it has no business on the stock market) and such. Until the economy absorbs all the unemployment, it is not going to get better. Even if employed and such, the cash flow just isnt there. And that is a simpleton's view of it all.
  5. Oh, that's not good at all. People just don't have money for anything except necessities, and entertainment is not really a necessity. It's getting really bad where I am....I am so, so fortunate things turned out for me job wise. Here's hoping for the best.
  6. Exactly. Classmates wants a credit card before you can access people who leave messages for you. If it's that important, there is one classmate who knows how to contact me.
  7. www.facebook.com kinda like a journal...hard to explain...you can post pics and such, as well as say anything you want give it a go Hmmm, asks you to "Sign Up For Free." I'll pass. That's ok. I can tell you I haven't had any problems with it-My space is a different matter. Just don't post anything you don't want the world to know...but that goes with anything on the 'net.

  9. Enjoy it while you can. These days, I must look like I'm in the Army when I go to KI because everyone calls me "Sir." Don't feel bad. This year some of my younger coworkers called me ma'am. I am seasoned, not old dammit!!
  10. Isn't that the truth? I try not to think about that part.
  11. The "New Coke" was absolutely horrible. I think Coke out of a returnable bottle was still the best.
  12. I've had second degree burns before, and that is excruciating. I have heard (dunno if true) that third degree burns destroy the nerve endings and there is not much sensation at that point. It's the surrounding second degree that is bad pain wise.
  13. You'd be surprised. I worked with a farmer that got his arms caught in a combine-he was "degloved" (skinned) down both arms. He refused to go to the hospital. He recovered. I would worry about infection with burns like that. My ex brother in law did something similar-he had a mishap in his house, by lighting a match with an unknown gas leak-created a fireball, and burned himself good. The rides would be the least worry. Like one of my current bosses says-we can replace anything in the park, but we can't replace YOU. Most employers forget that-they are worried about the bottom line.
  14. I was at epcot back in '85 and we were in that dome thing. At one point in the ride, they snap your picture. Well, there was a couple sitting 2 rows in front of us and the camera was in a dark portion of the ride. When it snapped, it displayed on this huge screen and the guy was copping a feel on his gf. He turned about ten shades of red and we had the best laugh.
  15. It is better, however, I was in the second row of the first car..it beat the *bleep* out of me-just plain hurt. I could try the front row, but 9 times out of 10 I am alone and out of fairness to other riders, I don't take preferred seats or ride things like Back Lot for that reason.
  16. I rode Son the one cold weekend we had-after dark-and that was my last time. It was miserable.
  17. I agree wholeheartedly. And how about the total moron who took one of those blessed basketballs on beast, threw behind them, narrowly missing my daughters head down the second hill? Had I been there, security would have taken me off.....
  18. There was a short time a few years ago that gas was 99 cents in a suburb of dayton-but I don't remember what year it was-it has been since 2001.
  19. That kid deserves the Darwin award for sure and was darn lucky he didn't get smashed-watching that stressed me out. In addition to the droopy pants, how about the smart alecks who think its fun to spit in the loops on Vortex? That happened to me last year-disgusting!!!!!!! I was furious.
  20. How about the teenage boys who get together and spit every few feet...yuk!!! It really sucks when they do it on Vortex....
  21. I think its a crime that the tumble bug was not moved somewhere-no way it can be saved now. Whatever happened to the one at KI? I loved those swinging cages too..those used to be pretty popular back then.
  22. Well, my feeling on that and dead awakening are known, and for a different forum. I saw one of the club blood girls going to work on the colder night, and the jeers and whispering she endured on the way to the employee entrance angered me...and some of the whispering and laughing came from a group of volunteers. I am somewhat guilty of that. I did make a comment while in Club Blood..something to the affect of WOW!...I wasn't crude to the young gal...but I let it be known that I was more turned on than frightened..lol. She was a very nice looking girl..with long dark hair..AND BOY COULD SHE DANCE! Well, that is different. The whispering and laughing outside the entrance was meant to make her uncomfortable, and that is what honked me off.
  23. Go for it Gordon! This time of year is ideal with the leaves and all.....I went by it coming back from cleveland, and was tempted, but with my muffler bungee corded under my car at the time, I figured I shouldn't push my luck
  24. I have to agree on this one. Of all my years working, KI has taught me the most of dealing with people effectively-and that is a skill you will need in any career. I can vouch too that it is a pretty good place to work. Nothing is 100% perfect, but you create memories that last forever. Every fall it is sad to say bye for the winter and every spring it is like a big reunion. It's all good.
  25. I don't have a problem with the alcohol being there either-like an acquaintenance told me-why punish everyone for the actions of a few? The ones who get out of control are usually asses sober as well.
