  1. I would like to see a wild mouse at coney.
  2. I think they do, but its not public knowledge. I can vouch 1/3 of the park leaves on any given day around 4:30, and comes back in from 6-7. KI is in dire need of a sit down restaurant, but not if the food quality is the same as what is already offered.
  3. I'll have to agree about Diamondback's location-I think it should have gone where Son is. As a former employee, the name change caused problems for me personally when I was told to go to such and such and I would have to think which location it really was. The worst? Removing the flats in Coney Mall. I miss tumble bug and all those older rides. Like I said in another topic, there's nothing for the older folks to ride-it's not always about record breaking coasters and tallest and fastest. Hits? Well, addition of DB (except for the location). Starlight spectacular. A little off topic, but the friends I have made working there and being part of this community-after all, that's most important to me.
  4. I am thankful its no worse here than it is-last week the high where my sister lives was -19. Ugh.
  5. So far this winter, I just can't get warm. 53 degrees sounds good right now.
  6. I'm out of the loop, and haven't looked at how the ride operates or is supposed to operate. All I know is after reading the first post from raptor, it got me to thinking about the way the log rides used to be. Yes, a little natural wave on those rides is fine, but I've said this before-I hated that darn elephant on the log ride, and I haven't been back but once since the 80's. Like you said Terpy, if I want to get doused, I'll go to the water park. Seems to me they turned it into a money maker-"let's soak the guest, so they will have to pay 5 bucks for the family dryer." Things like this are not what make money, Cedar Fair. It's creating a family fun atmosphere, not a gotcha situation. Excuse my bitterness, I long for the old park these days. Sigh.
  7. Wonderful report. Miss Rae is turning into a young lady. It's been years since I've been to Florida and this makes me want to go.
  8. I don't care what they paint it. It will protect the metal and thats good enough for me.
  9. And I will be getting a strap and wearing my glasses more-park maps, putting batteries in smoke detectors, little things like that I can't see anymore. I cant even see my cell screen to text these days . Night vision is a problem as well. I noticed this morning I couldn't see the back of my desktop to reconnect cables.
  10. I imagine so. Just think what it does to your eyes-I know what it does to my skin. Makes me think about that unfinished building at Kenwood-good lord, that thing looks terrible
  11. You know, for the past year or so I have held back on many things, simply because of the "I am an expert and you aren't" mentality on the forum. The last great thing I posted was my Alaska trip. I say, if you don't like what someone says, don't come off as an expert and berate them for what they posted. Kindly correct them without making them look like a fool. There are a few on here who thrive on that, and my thought is if I'm gonna be treated like I am at work, why bother? This is supposed to be a fun thing, not a competition. Those who do know more on here, I would appreciate listening to-just don't talk down to me for not knowing. I admit I'm one can short of a six pack, and really would like to know more, but I don't want the public humiliation of asking a question, and being made to look like an idiot. Guess I was wrong about my speculation of FD being removed. I am extremely pleased they are painting it. Keeping up with that is such an expensive endeavour and I noticed even DB's seats are starting to fade. Strength of the sun I guess.
  12. I like Mantis. King cobra was better, but I'll take it.
  13. Agreed. I am loving all the offseason pics and info so far. I cannot wait for April Me either. I would have loved to do mechanical work, especially climbing to the height of ttd and son. Mechanics and the way things work fascinate me.
  14. Not directed at you Diesel. I just think its fascinating to see pics of offseason track work. If I had the knowledge.........
  15. Regardless of what year they are from its still something very cool to see. Why is everyone so nit picky about what year and providing links? Just enjoy it for chrissakes.
  16. The cost of repaving the parking lot would dwarf the cost of building Diamondback. I'm sure it would, but its a necessary evil. There are potholes large enough to swallow cars in the employee lot.
  17. I don't think they can be salvaged-they sat in that nasty water for nearly a month, and have not been attended to since. Doesn't take long for the elements to do their damage. Beautiful video-catches the mood of what remains after a disaster-brings back some not so pleasant feelings.
  18. No reason to be a jerk about it. Besides, my personal theory is flight deck and son are both outta here. Before anyone runs with that, it is just MY personal opinion, not fact.
  19. I think I remember you...at that point my brain was froze-and I am just now recovering.
  20. How about the unplanned get togethers with friends met from these sites? Tonight was one of the best I've ever had. My only regret, was not bringing my regular camera and snapping some pics to send to my sister in Alaska. She has no phone where she is, so we rely on the internet for everything and I had told her of my plans for today. She has moved even farther out in the wild where the high temp today was 19. Should be interesting. I am already trying to get her to come home one last time for a spin on The Beast with me-thats my new goal.
  21. Exactly. This year closes a chapter in my life, and I will be embarking on the next one-it's very exciting!
  22. There were a couple I didn't recognize-I was the one hiding in the alaska shirt. Absolutely froze to death tonight, but it was worth it. I know I'm not gonna be worth squat tomorrow at work.
  23. Terrible accident. There's no way I would be a ride op.
  24. It amazes me how many people will pay these prices. I'm not gonna support it, thats just outrageous.
