  1. ...and not one that's enclosed! (or should I say 'encrypted') And on acid.
  2. That's because you don't tiki dance. One has to invent fun, sometimes.
  3. It does sound like a really good day. I usually can't get that much riding in, I'm glad you did. My first ride on Diamondback was at night, so I know what you mean by that drop into nothingness.
  4. The night I rode it, it did have a sewage odor to it, at about the middle of the ride. My dad insisted we ride the Safari at least just once. It wasn't the most interesting of rides, except for that one ostrich.
  5. I hate to be rude, but would it be alright to copy and paste the basic instructions into my facebook? Being that the people reading would already be there?
  6. I'm with you on all of it! I'd like any of those things. More break rides, especially in Planet Snoopy. I like flats, too. I think the inner ears of males must age before female inner ears. One look at a flat and my husband wants to ralph.
  7. Since your screen name is Vortex...I always chuckle when you comment on Vortex...it's almost like the ride is contributing it's own opinion. Your post should have read "Wow i'm having a lot of trouble this year. If it keeps up wonder how much longer I will be around? Haha. Maybe he's one of the Seinfeld types that refers to himself in third person.
  8. I can understand the confusion, though. At a Haunt, I saw the lift of the Diamondback, the lift and nothing else- and lo! there was a construction worker standing underneath it, who took me to see a model of Diamondback that looked very much like the model in the toy store window. I thought the kit was the Diamondback model at first glance. (I think of that worker's pride in that coaster every time I'm on the lift of DB. He loved building it.)
  9. It's a model of a K'nex style kit- build your own roller coaster. I think they have the kit available in the shop.
  10. The first link was a dead blog, but the photos on the second link are beautiful.
  11. Thanks for the correction. I always wondered what happened to the Leiderhosen Beetle with the mug of beer on the Beetle. I'm glad another park can use The Serpent. I actually thought it was the Beetle. I loved that ride. It had the same doodlebug action. Just before the park sold the RV guy, they used to try to revive the park a bit with band concerts. My uncle is a trumpeter for a big band, and for some dense reason, they were allowing people in the park for free. I was with my cousin, and had the gall to go up to the operator of the Serpent and ask if we could sneak a ride, even though we were there at the free concert. We did. My cousin had never rode a beetle, and since then, he's been wanting one for KI. Also noted: I said I rode the coaster in '82- it was actually '89. I had won tickets to the park from the local premiere of Burton's Batman, I was able to correctly answer the film that was the inspiration for The Joker.
  12. Tanna, i take it that you don't know much about the former park then? Or the ride? Actually, yah, I knew just a few little minutia. I went to the park first when I was four,(1968) and still went after KI was opened. I knew the rollercoaster, Cyclone, came from another park, and I rode it many times, in fact, I rode it more than I did any other ride in the park. We would go at least four times a year, due to scheduled picnics, and invitations from people from the park. I'd read in an article that parts of it are going to a museum in Texas. I know the guy that designed the coaster was a great builder of coasters, the coaster equivalent of Bill Tracy and Dark Rides. I used to go to the park when Kooky Kastle was a walkthrough. My family has the Laughing Lady 78 that was used in the Kooky Kastle. I was allowed to walk through the haunted house with the lights up. The fellow that ran the basketball game was a neighbor down the street, so I got to see the workings of many attractions. I went through Tom Sawyer's caverns at Fantasy Farm when it had water under the bridge. We used to get glass mugs from Tombstone Territory. In Tombstone Territory, they used to have a shoot out with actors. The woman that lost her arm when the train overturned is a family friend. They used to have gumball machines with food for the swans on the dock of the steamboat. The Serpent was once the Bavarian Beetle at King's Island, it is now located at Kokomos in MI. My sister was almost struck by lightening at the park in 1968. A stranger grabbed her out of the way just before the strike. I recall the Stardust dance hall. I last rode the Cyclone (Screeching Eagle) in 1982. It may look sound to some, but it didn't feel that sound when I rode it, but I could have been influenced by the various 2x4's nailed along the railings to replace railings that had falling off. Decay happens. I never realized to post to this forum I'd have to take an essay exam. I only know just a few snips of trivia.

I've found it very fast, and yes, the braking was a little more rough than memory.
  14. I imagine the Overlord at his Desktop PC, typing, stopping every so often to mentally sum up the perfect word to fit his feelings. Using an emoticon smiley at the end. Saw the knotts site, Day of the Dead looks fun.
  15. I don't know what they call those that barge into abandoned places- urban explorers? It might be best to take such an attraction down before a trespasser puts their foot through a board on the track and plummets into that swampy puddle underneath it.

The mister is hoping for a good old fashion Ferris Wheel. He leans forward, arms up, in every roller coaster, and doesn't seem to realize he laughs like a demon when he does so, I have no idea why he would want such an old fashioned easy going ride. Maybe he wants to raise his arms up and laugh like a demon on it.
  17. Well, no one was hurt, and everyone was able to walk down safely. I agree that it was just a fluke, and perhaps shouldn't have got that coverage. It does reiterate the rule that a passenger must be able to walk to the seat, though.
  18. My dad shares a memory of Lesourdseville Lake. (Caution, some might consider some of the words harsh, and it contains some gruesome.
  19. My last ride on it left me as pale as a ghost. I loved it, it was my first coaster, but that ride was truly horrifying. I'd won tickets from the original "Batman" with Michael Keaton, and went, that's how long ago it was. It was ramshackle then, so I suspect it wasn't doing that much better 22 years later.
  20. Maybe she thought it was a command then. hahahah The work of Xenu, no doubt! Perhaps a tinfoil chapeau would alleviate that problem.
  21. Dane, thanks for the work. I have a hard time working with web software, it's nerve wracking, and I appreciate your doing it. I have a loathing of HTML. They used it for typesetting back when the TRSDOS-80 was new, to be promoted from typesetting was a big deal, because I didn't have to code anymore.
  22. That was my first thought, too. Maybe she didn't think the park recycled and thought the cans would go to waste if she didn't save them. People always think that their own behavior isn't strange, it's other people that are strange. KI has probably never thought of a policy towards collecting the cans because they never though anyone would do it. I wonder if that lady does that in other pubic places?

Actually there was a FLier on The Racer, that's why I originally added it to the list.

    Agh, thanks! Fixed that

From what I've seen, darque, the new coasters like Diamondback, and Backlot Stunt Coaster, have a lane that runs along side the regular line. The Beast has the FL through the exit, I think from the way the station was built. From what I recall, there's a sign at each ride where the FastLane enters. I saw single rider FastLaners when I went, and there were no dirty looks. It might be good to know you are doing another single rider a favor, they'll ask him to come forward to fill the train. There's no merging, and the ride attendant is good at handling both lines, from my experience. Hope you have a good time.
