New at Holiday World for 2012
Well, it seems to be enough of an addition to get the mister to break out his old "Build your own teardrop camper" plans again. Do they have a campground? And if not, is there a motel around that would accommodate a Scottie Dog?

I love Kings Island's carousel. I took a trip to Mansfield, Ohio, a few years to the Carousel Festival. It's not much carnival wise, but to be able to see how the horses are made, and to look at all the different style of carousel animals is neat. They have a permanent carousel in the middle of town.

It's National Give a CGI Artist a Job Day, GYK. Why play with fire when you can have the effects sans the elemental damage to the machine?

CAMDEN FLYING SCOOTERS MALFUNCTION
my god, Shaggy, you make me want to go just to walk through and have a genuine scare! They used to shove the ghost carts at Lesourdseville, too. And we accepted that behavior as normal. There is nothing as genuinely frightening as the last days of a burnt out park. The employees get seedier as years go by, the rides are hanging by a thread, and the management can't figure out why people are frightened away. Duct Tape! You have me laughing. I'm glad you survived. Edit 8-5-11: I looked up the Hush Puppy cars that Bill Tracy engineered, they all had their own little motor and magnets to keep it on track. As years went by, second stories were added to haunted house features, in the case of Kooky Kastle in Lesourdseville, it was a two story walkthrough later updated into a ride through. The little tiny motors in the Hush Puppy cars just couldn't take the extra incline, and as years would go by, needed a shove to get them started. I imagine across the country people in those hand painted coffin cars (Slathered over with duct tape) being pushed through the ride like old people on the Atlanta boardwalk.

That could be horrific. One small glitch, and you have an enclosed building with 56 people already tied to a spit. No thanks on real flames.

Halloween Haunt 2011
To be honest, Ringmaster, last year I went with my niece and her boyfriend, and my experience in Death Row somewhat soured my desire to go to other haunts for the rest of the night. We rode some rides, then I finally convinced her to go to a haunt. It was such a frustrating experience, my niece and bf left early, and I didn't feel like going to other haunts. Who wants to glared at? And this is a person who annually goes through Cornhuskers CornStalkers because in my heart, I feel like, "God love 'em, they're trying."

New at Holiday World for 2012
Halloween? I was looking at their park calender just yesterday, wishing they had a Halloween event. I don't care if it's a kiddy Halloween, I'd like that. I keep looking at that park. I've never gone, but it's as cute as hell. The Halloween event might be a nice anniversary weekend.

Fast Lane
If I could, I'd hand you a cigar through the monitor. I chose to eat in the park for that reason, the pass pays for itself very quickly.

Parking Prices Changing
Yes, it's best to keep open eyes, both ways. 4runneradam, It would be great to have the little trams. Even though I wouldn't be using them, it would help other customers greatly.

Parking Prices Changing
A nice sentimental memory. Lately my nephews are always good at getting a "shoulder ride" out to the resort bus...so the lot doesn't seem that big to them...yet! P.S. We always tried to get in Scooby's lot. I secretly despised Funky Phantom, and hated when we were in his lot. Kid logic kills me. It's funny how going to your car, you realize how tired you are, especially when you are a kid.

I dunno. I'll double check, and ask him. (Getting info from FB right now.) From Venezuela, had ipod and camera stolen, (this is from his first email) and emailed the company several times, with no response. Being that it happened in KI's parking lot, I would suspect there would be a record, though. I'll ask him if he has printed on the internet information of his theft, after all, that's the only proof something happened. I do know that my theft wasn't published, nor was the first theft I friended, nor many of the others. I googled it right now, didn't get anything on my incident, yet, it happened. it might help to go to Mason's "The Pulse", a weekly paper. My theft didn't make the Pulse, either. Sorry to hear you couldn't find it. Perhaps it's all a ruse. I'm purposely not affording to go to the park out of a vast white ring conspiracy. I can assure you about what happened to me. I didn't make it up, I don't know how else to prove it to you. After all, it may not show up on Google, which is the barometer of reality. Perhaps it's considered an internal affair at the park? Perhaps, like KIPR, they work to keep the thefts under the radar?

Your legs are longer, Standbyme. As a tired kid after the fireworks, that parking lot was as big as the country, and Quickdraw McGraw lot was centuries away. It's better to dump a potato sack of a tired kid on the tram seat than the have to lug it to the car at the end of the day. KIFan I support your saying the passes and discounts are too cheap. Cutting down on the price that way leads to higher prices elsewhere. I don't pack lunches and eat in the parking lot, but that might become a necessity, if I go again. Hell, I should really just stand by the sign and hire myself out as a car watcher and make some dough.

Asia's going all to town with the parks. They have a Hello Kitty park coming up. (Yes, I am the person that bought those Hello Kitties at KI.)

GYK. You are right. There's no promise that they will improve that park with any of the monies, it's just we the customers with wishful thinking, to be honest. I'd like to think CEO's care, but wishing doesn't make it so. When I was presented with a gift of a season pass after several seasons of not having one, I questioned inwardly, "Why?" Especially after last year's dismal Haunt. Now, after having the pass, and not being able to go since that one Sunday, I will definitely question my marriage vows if I'm presented with another one. That money could have gone towards a backyard pool. It's not the pricing issues, it's not the individual pricing of certain venues of the park. Considering the dinosaurs aren't colored in the aspect of Jack Horner's theory, I don't want to see the dinosaurs. It's an anthropologist's nitpick, I know, but that's how I am about dinosaurs. I don't want to slingshot, I don't want to swing madly, I don't need to rush to the front of the line. I'm glad that these items are charged separately, instead of piling the fee on this ... little piece of plastic in my wallet that's not doing me any good. I want to go to the park. I want to see happy people. I'd like to have fun. I want little kids to have the memories I had. If they pocket the money, and don't create some return to the patrons, those waiting extra in line because of FastLaners will grow disgruntled. Then there truly will be anger and disillusionment towards the park. If they don't invest in the park, or at least invest in making the patron's time in the park better, there will be an army of me.

I'm going to sound vigilante, but here goes. Since July 1st, I have friended ten people from Kings Island facebook. Looking at it statistically, these are only people on FB, only people who are vocal enough to post, and only the ones I can read before they get blocked. My reason for friending is this, I know they are going to get blocked from the page, and I tell them why. These people are reporting crimes that happened to them. I was blocked, so I know that they will be, too. Besides, they need someone to apologize for what happened to them. One post was one man reporting that several cars had been broken into. Before the post went down, several comments relayed the idea that "That's what he got for leaving his car in a parking lot." Hunh? So now we need to take shifts and sit and watch our car? Are we going to have to attend the park in odd numbered parties to make sure our car is not going to be vandalized? Needless to say, one wants to memorize the faces of those who posted that logic so that we may avoid them in future. Their moral rational is spooky. The parking lot belongs to Cedar Faire. We rent space in their personal parking lot by paying a fee. What are we going to get for that raise in price? We need more than pothole fixing at this point.

CAMDEN FLYING SCOOTERS MALFUNCTION
Haha. I can imagine. Fantasy Farm got eerie that way. I was asked to repaint the carousel in Fantasy Farm a loooonnng time ago. As I walked through the park to see the carousel, it was creepy how aged and rickety the rides were, and the workers were sketchy. I had a nightmare that night about painting the carousel, only to have the plaster chip away from the cupids, to see that they were plastered over corpses. Now that was a park that left a bad feeling. I didn't take the job, needless to say.

A couple questions...
If you mean the half dozen picnic tables under the green umbrellas under FACE/OFF and near the ticket sales windows... I used those when we took our dog. You can have dinner with your dog at those tables. (That's a guest service you don't hear about a lot, the dog kennels. They are really nice.) Since a lot of people don't use those tables, except eccentric dog owners, what's wrong with using them?

First time to Boomerang Bay
I was on ipad when I answered, my suggestion of getting a small waterproof case to put things in was sent as a personal comment. I'd go with the least amount of items possible. Dick's Sporting Goods has several types of cases that can be carabinered onto your clothes as you swim. I wouldn't recommend taking the phone into the park. (I can ipad a comment, but replying in the forum is a zilch.)
