Fast Lane
You are speaking my thoughts. Mr. Oumet (sp?) brought up a more "family friendly" atmosphere. I'd pay twice as much if I didn't have to be in the same park as the Adolescent Daycare Center. I wouldn't kvetch about it, either. I looked at my receipts. I paid 99 dollars each for two passes. That's two park admissions. I'm already getting into the park for free at this point. And so are all the other people that bought season passes, sadly, that includes the kids mama drops off at the gate, so she can forget about her obnoxious output for the day. We've all seen less than human behavior in the park, and even though the stereotype that people like to bring up is "The entitled family"; remember, I was once in line with my family once, too, and loved every minute, even standing in line, we didn't shove you, or curse at you, or break in line. It's not the family groups creating the problems in the park. I was a teenager myself, but bought my own pass, which means I had to have a work ethic. That pass was dear to me, because I knew the hours it took to earn it, and I knew the time in the park was precious to others. too. It's not all teenagers, it just so happens to be the ones that have parents that won't teach them basic manners or ethics that make the most problems. Why do you think the parents drop them off? To get away from the idea of parenting. When Lesourdseville got desperate, and started with discounts, and cut rates, and cheaper prices, it went downhill. It became dangerous. Pricing is actually another weeding process. I'm okay with that. If it weeds me out, then I'll just have to earn more to get my precious pass. Disney is expensive, yes, but at ten years old, I was allowed to walk alone in that park for three days, and never had a problem. King's Island can use a better clientele. All these discounts and bargains are creating an unappreciative atmosphere in the park. If the passes become to expensive for some people, we can start a bucket fund for people on the forum. I'd rather have you lot roaming the park, even at my expense.

My day at Kings Island today 7/19/11...
Sometimes I go over just to eat funnel cake and watch the carousel. Today was too hot even for that. I'm glad you had a good time. I hope your guest had a good time, too.

Extended hours for Boomerang Bay
I did that. That's how I'm only out 800.00 in replacing stolen stuff instead of 2000.00

Fast Lane
No, I'll think of you every time I see a full bank of working lights on a ride. How's that?

LeSourdsville Lake feature from the Enquirer
Was Laff in the Dark a walkthrough or a ride through? I'm feeling snobbish because for being a person that was actually able to walk through a funhouse, not ride.

Roller Coaster's
I still freak out at the top of the hill. It's a steep drop into a tunnel that, from the top of the hill, I can cover with my thumbnail. I'm always anxious during the lift part of the coaster- it's like being in the dentist's chair, but the ride makes it worth it.

Fast Lane
My honest thoughts are, "Let some elitist clunk pick up the redecorating costs of The Crypt." After seeing what the ride used to look like, it does need an overhaul. There's line-jumping in the park already, so really, what's the difference, except that the new system relies on money, the system in place now relies on bullying tactics, intimidation, and the size of the jumper group?

Fast Lane
Thanks for the clarification. Me, I need some time between coasters, or I'll grey/black out, so I know at least one person, maybe two, who will skip this plan altogether. I believe there's only a limited amount of Fastpasses available each day, and I suspect the biggest hassle in the park will be at that window. I'll need to hear from more people who had been to parks that use this system before I roll around in the ground at the absolute agony of letting someone in line before me. All of us have juggled people ahead of us, at some time or another, to get the people that are in the same party on the same ride. I'm thinking it won't be much more different than that.

Fast Lane
I always thought the the body was counted in line, even though it wasn't there at the time, also. I thought Fastpass worked by clocking in at a certain time, leave, then come back to your place in line as if you were standing there the whole time. So the ten minute wait for a ride was in reality, still a forty minute wait, even though the bodies were 'invisible". The money for Fastpass, plus the money spent by the Fastpassers while not waiting in line, can get some of the cool stuff that is being discussed about in these forums. I've been reading, and let's face it, there's a big wishlist.

Kings Island Grand Opening
Oh god, the shoes! I absolutely would not ride the shoes. I'd read in a Weekly World Tabloid that a cable broke in a ride in England, and killed a man. The worst fate I could think of was to die in a shoe. And a wooden shoe at that.

Kings Island 1992 video
Ugh you make me feel old. I recall when Phantom Theater was new. Lesson learned that day: If a kid does NOT want to go into Phantom Theater, then avoid it at all costs. "I ain't goin' in that God darned house, and that guy can't play the piano, either." voiced by my three year old niece, as she ran out of the auditorium,

Gold Season Pass Holders (((BRING-A-FRIEND for $9.99))) Days Are Back for 2011
Good rant. Sometimes I feel that way, too.

Virtual Queuing Coming to KI?
Same here. For me, part of the experience is being with friends in line. We're all old, and we work, so being in line gives us time to catch up with each other. I recall in the early eighties, we'd get a big order of fries and eat them in line. I don't know if that's allowed anymore, we don't do it just in case. It can be great laughs in line. I'd wait in line all the same, but I can see a family that are only there for a weekend doing a Fastpass deal, they only have a limited amount of time.

Ride Enhancements to The Crypt
You! I do like the Kiddy Whip ride better. The larger size doesn't seem to whip you around so much, and just turn your cart.

Extended hours for Boomerang Bay
You get five back of the fifteen, I hear. When we went, there were none available. It was one of the Military Days. Everyone keeps selling the lockers. There were none available. Really. None to be had. They can put more lockers behind the pavilions. They could charge less money with more lockers, and still make up the difference. They can have fewer broken lockers. On days when there are no lockers to be had, maybe add and extra security person or two, simply because with no lockers to be had, one might have to depend on the honestly of strangers, which doesn't work. There were no lockers available when we got there. So the locker argument has become rather moot.

Duct tape your stuff to your body, and enjoy the band-aids. You can't miss them, they float by on a regular basis.

What originally brought you to visit Kings Island?
My dad. He was a big amusement park guy, and brought us.

Ride Enhancements to The Crypt
Honestly, I thought the coolest part of the ride was that someone could build a machine that could lift that many people in the air. I looked to the right of me, and saw that giant arm swing us up, and appreciated the maintenance workers and builders that made it possible. Considering there was very little else to see, the giant arms are amazing.

I'm still a little leery of Boomarang Bay in general.

Actually found this ride quite relaxing. Is that supposed to be the intended outcome?

Halloween Haunt 2011
CornSTALKERS hang around Halloween Haunt, while CornHUSKERS can typically be found in Nebraska. haha. I see you haven't been through that haunt. Believe me, it's Cornhuskers. that be where your wrong. TRUST ME!!! Then maybe taking them off the asphalt would result in more CornStalking and less CornHusking. It's not a good haunt, believe me, no matter how many logos you paste up- and this is coming from a person with a fear of Mummers.

Guests Say The Darnest Things
The man I married asked where King Cobra was just the other day. I gave him The Look.
