What`s next for Son of Beast?
I don't see how it could ever be claimed to have been fatal. I mean technically, I have ridden every coaster at KI (minus SoB) and one day I guess I will die, having previously ridden them so... Then again, I've heard people claim that rides were fatal when they absolutely were not. For example, my girlfriend's dad swears not only that The Bat derailed once, but that he had ridden it earlier that day. And a good friend of my mom's once tried to claim that "The batman coaster" formerly at KI was closed because it cut a girl's legs off, and refused to believe when I said that it was the SUPERMAN ride, which was a Drop Tower at KENTUCKY KINGDOM. I've heard about a Bat derailment, too, from two separate people. If an ambulance were called, I'd think surely it would make the news, but one person who tells me this story was an EMF(?) and the other guy is a priest who claims he saw The Bat fiberglass front of the car smashed.

trash cans?
Looks like the new Haunt experience will be themed after one of Dick Kinzel's nightmares Looks like the new Haunt experience will be themed after one of Dick Kinzel's nightmares They look like they are waiting in line for a ride. Now I have the suspicion that this summer I'll turn around in line and see a trashcan behind me, wearing a baseball hat backwards.

They need some purple, I swear.

Job4You at KI
In our case, if we want to spend the whole day there, we don't want to leave our dog in a crate home alone all day, or if it's a hot day, and we don't want to leave him where we can't check on him. At Pet Care, you can walk in every few hours, give him lunch, walk him, etc.. I was shocked when I heard of one patron leaving her little dog in the car. Pet Care is air-conditioned, clean, and there's always someone there to keep an eye on them. Some people vacation with their pets rather than leave them behind. Some families do the Griswald and hit a few destinations in two weeks time.

Line Jumping at KI
Late in posting this, but I love the current trend of Reeely Big shoes. I love it when line jumpers try to squidge through the barriers, only to have their giant Mickey Mouse sneakers get caught, and they fall and get scraped up on the pavement.

I really liked being the ride flunky in Coney Island. I know the Monster, by design, isn't the the safest ride to work, it surely is the heaviest to close, but I had fun. I will always remember the Day that the Coney Island section was haunted by "The Blue Lady". To see the sheer panic of patrons trying to get away from her stillmakes me laugh.

A very bad acid trip.

Diamondback Restraints
It feels weirdly safe though, my niece and I are 5'2", 100 pounds, and for me, DB feels like the safest, comfiest seat in the park. They have little handgrips on the side of the chair, if you don't like the looseness of flying up, but with the lap bar design, even with airtime, it feels safe.

Soak City Construction Continues
I hadn't gone to the Beach since they changed the Pearl into an all ages pool. It used to be adults only. It was nice to be able to sit along the edge of the water and not have a five year old try to get your attention by kicking water at you. I don't have kids, but many parents thought it was just peachy to load theirs off on me, while they snarfed potato chips in the shade.

Color Me Surprised
I like the turquoise dark blue scheme I saw on FB. Slap some purple on it, and you have my wedding colors. I have an inkling to renew my vows on it.

Classic KI Pics
This was just the "keep your hands inside the boat" frog. His head moved from side to side, and his mouth yammered to the safety recording. I guess they just stuck him in there to keep with the opening giant flower theme.

Same here. That color combo always reminded me of Ronald McDonald.

Same here! I wish I could walk into the picture and right into the park.

Go Carts, Antique Cars and Law Suits
My cousin's first big job was operating the antique cars. We went to go see her on her first day. A car had run over her foot ten minutes before she was scheduled to clock out. "Shake it off. You're Irish." There's some things that are painful, and some things you have to blow off.

Halloween Haunt 2012 Ideas
Husband's still pushing for the Breaking Bad Haunt. Come to think of it, they already have "Hell on Wheels" with the train gig. What's next, Mad Men, the Advertising Agency Gone Awry?

Kings Island New Website
Oh so sad. I jokingly thought of the same thing. I don't know if I'll have a season pass this year, but I might be able to go a day or two. I think the Fastpass being spread out over 24 rides will mean fewer riders per ride to Fastpass, or is my math wrong? I may be crazy, but I recall 4:50 as The Beast time, also. I lugged a friend from a tame foreign nation onto The Beast, and distinctly recall him asking in a panic, "Five minutes? You're going to tear me through the air for five minutes?" Well, no, not me, personally. The ride, however...

Cedar Fair Is Not Disney--Motley Fool
Got to disagree here. My kids have both grown through the 48" requirement in recent years and never had a problem with not having rides to enjoy. What I believe KI is missing is more rides that the family can enjoy together. There are precious few options for a parent or grandparent, who doesn't want to ride a coaster or spin, to enjoy with the younguns. I'll go with your experience about the amount of rides, you have more hands on experience, and besides, when I was younger, There were a lot more tweeny rides. I also agree that there's not a lot of soft rides that grandparents can enjoy with the kids.

Halloween Haunt 2012 Ideas
I want a Berzerker on a chain held back by the skinniest, tiniest girl you can find. The idea that it's uncontrolled except by that tiny girl would mentally challenge the 'monsters don't touch' idea.

Ghost Hunters at KI Wed Jan 11th
But then, we're talking about out of towners filming when the park is closed down. All the rides are shut, so they don't know SOB is not running. It's an impressive structure. They might have featured SOB because it it made good scenery. My dad loves this show. He tosses off the ghost stuff readily enough. He likes to watch Tango and Cash(?)- I forgot the one tattooed fellow's name. He liked it better in the earlier seasons, with Brian, who was the Ghost Hunter Equivalent of a Dead End Kid.

Cedar Fair Is Not Disney--Motley Fool
I agree that there's not enough for kids. Last summer, while going to the Stuntcars, a dad was measuring his daughter to see if she could ride. She couldn't. "There's no rides here for me." And there wasn't. Can a person who doesn't meet height requirement for Stuntcars ride Adventure Express, the coaster with 'kid' written allover it? There's rides for rugrats, rides for adults, but not enough rides for someone who's just grown out of the stuffed mascot phase.
