  1. Never been on it. How does it compare to KC?
  2. Tonight on AE, this woman created a scene in the station because her sons were not tall enough to ride. I could tell she was yelling and she was getting in the op's face. It got to the point she demanded they be measured with measuring tape, and delayed the ride for all of us. The young man handled it beautifully, and personally, since the woman chose to act ghetto about it, should have been escorted the hell out. AZ, how about enlightening me on what the reasoning is since I'm the dense one here??
  3. How awful. I can only think what would have happened to my daughter on Beast if that darn basketball had hit her. You just never know-makes ya think about wearing eye protection. Probably was a cell phone.
  4. Preferred parking maybe? Just a guess
  5. That sounds a lot like the early days of KI! And brings up thoughts of a co-worker who asked me what parks other than KI I would recommend because, as she put it, "We paid for our tickets, but then everywhere we turned they had their hands out looking for more money." It made me wonder how many families share her sentiment and are spending their nickels elsewhere as a result........ Well said, both of you. Hits it spot on.
  6. Excuse me for being heartless, but what changed their minds? At first they held no animosity toward the park and said he lived life to the fullest since his horrible injury. I'm thinking the media has changed their minds to go ahead with the suit knowing they will win and making even more restrictions for the rest of us. To kind of tie this in to another topic on this site, all these seat belts, head rests, seat dividers and stapling have led to totally unenjoyable experiences on all coasters. There has to be some room for natural movement on these things; otherwise I think they are actually increasing the chances of injury. I have a bruise on my thigh due to being stapled on racer. The settlement the family will receive won't bring him back and won't ease the pain they feel for their loss. I am truly sorry he is gone-at least he passed having fun and doing something "normal" that the rest of us take for granted.
  7. Oh my god!! LOL
  8. Yes, and in this heat the smell.....eww.
  9. At least it wasn't a basketball like my daughter experienced on Beast a couple years ago. I was the unlucky recipient of a certain incident on Vortex 2 seasons ago
  10. Oh my. Is this ride similar to Monster?
  11. It happens more often than you think. I'm sorry, but you just can't leave personal belongings out unsupervised and not expect something to be taken. Unfortunately, there are many dishonest people out there. When I lived in Southern Cal, I went inside to pay for my gas, and this woman came running in saying a man just took her car. The clerk asked her if she left the keys in it, and yes she did. Someone saw the easy target and took advantage of it. He ended up crashing into the palm tree across the street and got arrested. Bad thing is, I'm pretty sure her car was completely totaled for that little mistake. Never leave anything unattended, period. If you don't want to pay for the locker, go to the Bay in groups, and take turns babysitting your personal items. I don't think it happens any more at KI than any other public place. If you create an easy target, there will be a thief out there willing to take advantage of it.
  12. Great job Dave and Stan.. Wish I could come for support, but I am still battling heat exhaustion and need to stay out of it. Enjoy your day and drink lots of water and healthy stuff!!
  13. Bundles of money that will come back to us in the end? That theory hasn't worked with the current situation we are in today with this country. If they want to fix the parking lot or whatever, great. I noticed the cost for that has gone up since the start of the season and its still a sinkhole out there. I stand by my opinion of not liking it. It delayed the regular folks being able to get on the ride. I remember during the Paramount year I was right up to beast and had to wait 3 cycles for these fast passers to get on. I'll admit, I was honked.
  14. You got it!! Very well said.
  15. Now that makes sense. They could use something like this on a Saturday, but honestly, waiting is not a big deal to me. If it's insanely busy, I just go on a different day. Problem solved. Like I said on another board, this is no different than slipping security or any other employee 50 bucks to line jump. Am I the only one that thinks along this line?
  16. I'm with Janie, I don't like it. I am sick of the "if you have money you can do anything you want" mentality of this country. I remember when Paramount did it-you're already waiting in line, and then you get the priviledge of watching others go ahead of you to make the wait even longer. Where is that money going to go? Hope to heck it goes to the parking lot and perhaps lowering the food prices. KI is starting to be out of my price range. I hate to do it, but this is probably going to be the last year I have a season pass. I'm going to go back to once or twice a year trips like I did growing up. Line jumping at its finest
  17. I lived right by there for 6 years and never made it in the park once. Going to the grocery was a big enough pain, let alone trying to get into the park. That whole area is wayyyy to crowded.
  18. I could be wrong. but there appears to be more openness with the new leader. I like that.
  19. Once the obscentities start, any reasonable conversation is over as far as I'm concerned. You get what you give. And yes, there was a time I would have just let things go-when I was younger-but no more. I don't understand people most of the time, especially in a situation like this.
  20. Looks like things are gonna change-and it needs to!! I am interested to see what is going to happen over the next year. Sounds like he "gets it".
  21. Not yet-looks like the chain may be back on, but it was still down today.
  22. The first row of a car is ok too since it is a front wheel seat-the third row is what you have to worry about since it is a back wheel seat where your back takes a beating. ( Didn't Ruth Voss used to ride The Beast for its chiropractic therapy? If so maybe row 3 was her fav.) Yes at one time it did help. The past year or so Beast has not had the chiropractic benefit it used to. It's still enjoyable. I like Voyage, however all the quick turns are a little hard on me personally.
  23. And you're proud of that? Careful windshawne....it's been 3 whole days since Eric has personally gone after somebody attempting to make fun of them. He's due. I'm telling you he absolutely DESTROYED me for having a different opinion than Browntggrr. Me and my fanny pack are still reeling, and trying to heal from the amazing WCW style smack down I received. He's a sharp one, don't cross him, or he'll unleash his wrath of personal word smithing destruction on you to. Thanks Snowman. Not making fun of him, I would never do that to anyone, I don't see that stealing is something to be proud of. Those on here know my character, and I'm not worried-I'm beyond worrying what people think of me. Posts like that are what is killing this site.
  24. I don't see much of that being of interest to a thief, except for cash.... Uh, did you miss the part about the hair brush? That's typically what I steal... And you're proud of that?
  25. Pretty brazen-all depends on what they want. I've had my bank account broken into twice this year, recently had someone try to take my wheel on the car and someone tried to steal the hospital cell phone when I worked there. Each time, it angers me to no end. I can't stand a thief.
