I was commenting on the post above mine, regarding the shortening of the arbor tunnel you see in the picture.
  2. I got to see a train being put on the tracks this past week when I was at the park. They must've been running two trains to begin with, and right before we got in line, must've decided to bring out the third. The line was backed up to the area where the line splits for "Front Train" and "Back Train"...on that ramp leading to the station. Watched them bring the train from the transfer track and run it through. My question is: When they did that, they ran each train through a cycle once while empty. Why's that?
  3. Ohhh....That sounds like fun! I'd like to head there next summer and give her a whirl! Also, and not to hijack your thread, but I can't remember if Paramount Park passholders can get into Star Trek Experience? I'm wanting to say that you can't, but I'm not positive.
  4. I wondered if that was something Fear Fest-ish

    Oh, the nerve!
  6. You just answered your own question. Just look at the ride...Not gonna happen.
  7. The Eiffel Tower is leaning, too! Just look very carefully... closer... ...closer ...closer

Yeah, I'm thinking I'm just going to skip the Labor Day trip and just go to Fear Fest and Winterfest, and then call it a year. Looks like this past Tuesday was my final summer-season visit to PKI. 'Twas a great, great year! Maybe next year (or even this year at Fear/Winterfest) I can actually meet up with some of you all.

I bet it was just shortened, and let go to You know, it's sad to see that tunnel go to such waste, too. Before I was a thrill junkie, I never went to PKI, except as a young, young child. But I still remember the days when I was at PKI as a 6 and 7 yr. old, walking through that tunnel. For some reason, that, and sitting on the little stone brick walkways between what is now Vortex and IJ:ST is all I can remember...but that's probably because I was always too afraid to ride anything.
  10. I know quite a few people from PKD were kind of jealous that we got IJ and they weren't.
  11. I'm not saying I'm against IJ at all. In fact, even as a die-hard coaster enthusiast, I love IJ.

This is going to sound really noobish, but I've never really wanted to go to the park over a holiday weekend...this year is different. I've heard from some that holidays, such as the upcoming labor day weekend, are one of the better times to go, because the crowds are small. I've heard from others, and have always thought myself, that the park is really busy on days such as on labor day weekend. Would you say labor day weekend would be worth a 2 hr trip to the park, and then back home? Or would most of the day consist of lines? If I don't end up going over labor day weekend, then yesterday was officially my last day at the park during the "summer" season. I'll be back for a day during Fear Fest, and will return for a day during Winterfest.
  13. Make a poll and ask that question
  14. I believe it's available to any current passholder. At least, that's what I got from the email they sent, and the phonecalls we got.
  15. *Don't hate me!* Sorry, I was actually being sarcastic in that last post. While PKI does do what you describe (found gold-pass perk flash animation earlier this year, before it was made public), with the Carowinds template and all. What I was leaning towards regarding the press release was, all the press releases are stored on the same database. You can be on any PP site, open a press release, and change the press release ID number to something else, and up comes another press release, possibly from a different park, but while looking like it is in the site of the park you are looking at. Ackbar simply opened up the PKI IJ:ST press release, copied the item_id=38 section, and substitued that for the item_id of one of the Carowinds press releases. Try this: Here's the original site for a Carowinds press release - http://www.carowinds.com/News/detail.cfm?item_id=194 Here's the original site for a PKI release: - http://www.pki.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=136 See the numbers 194 and 136? Swap them around and visit the sites...like so http://www.carowinds.com/News/detail.cfm?item_id=136 http://www.pki.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=194
  16. Some girl over in RT Potato Works let me in on it
  17. Yikes! It looks like Paramount Parks is putting "hidden pages" in elsewhere, too, for future updates. Kind of like, using the other park's page for a template? Check it out, here's the confirmation we've all known was coming: http://www.pki.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=22 You do realize that it is pretty easy to go to any Paramount Park site, so as to get the park's logo at the top, and get a press release from another park. Don't lie. Lying kills millions each year. To learn more, visit http://www.whitelies.tv/
  18. I was at the park, at Delirium, when this happened. The first aid cart was in the area simply because of a guy suffering from, what I assume, was heat exhaustion...he was put in the back, wife got in the front, and they left for first aid. The guy was given a cold cloth to put on his neck on the way out of the area. Delirium did close for a short time around the time of the incident, but I think it was closed for technical difficulties. I saw a guy from maintenance climb the ladder to the top, and come down a few minutes later. After that, they cycled it a few times while empty, and then allowed people to hop back on. ....I was part of that group, and I've got to say, it was GREAT to finally be back on my baby Delirium!!!
  19. *sob* The season is winding down.
  20. edit: post gone
  21. Yeah, I may be wrong when I say open for next season...I'm just pulling that information from my head based on previous knowledge, and sometimes things get a little mixed up and fuzzy up in the ol' noggin.
  22. It's a hotel The new campground as well as the hotel should be open for the 2006 season, last time I checked.
  23. Very good point...and very good idea. The Eurobungie is something that some people may enjoy once or twice, simply because of the novelty factor. But really, it's not worth $8 a "ride" for the cheap thrill it brings...and I don't see many people wanting to pay to jump on a trampoline on steroids. ...I say, put a nice flat there. Something free, no an upcharge attraction, that all can enjoy. I have yet to ride any upcharge attraction at the park.
  24. So, 2006 passes are coming this week, if memory serves me correctly. Being that this season was my first at having a pass, I had a couple questions regarding renewal. First, how much was it to get a new pass last year? I know that since you got them so early, you go a good discount...how much was that discount last year? Also, say I renew next week. If I remember correctly, they issue new passes every year...so would I have to (or be able to) get my pass/picture printed when I renew, or do I wait 'til next April? Any other helpful renewal tips would be appreciated!
  25. This puppy's gonna be packed the rest of the summer. Every guest that has passed through the turnstyles this year will probably return on the same day, and all will be normal, in the wonderful world of Delirium! I missed ya, baby!!!
