Camp Snoopy Construction Updates

Regrettably, Chad Showalter seems to overlook the broader perspective. While he may not personally favor this forum, the Season Pass Facebook group, the Tower Topics Podcast, or Theme Parks By Don blog, as a communications professional, he should acknowledge the potential each holds to amplify the park's stories. These platforms wield significant influence with diverse audiences, and dismissing them only undermines Kings Island and Cedar Fair. Acknowledging their value, surpassing that of local news media, would markedly elevate the park's communication strategy.

With or without a willingness by the park to work with Tower Topics, the show goes on and the podcast will continue to grow. We appreciate everyone who has taken time out of their day to listen. We’ll have more episodes talking about Camp Snoopy in the weeks and months ahead.

This is probably an unpopular view, but it's a shame they couldn't have found a way to incorporate this ride without tearing out all those trees along the north side of the flume there. Those trees al

With the removal of the trees, the flume ride will feel like it did in the Coney Island days.

Yes, and nothing says "camping in the forest" quite like a seaside amusement park in one of the largest cities in the World. ;)

Don and I reported on the Pick Six that Holiday World had said on their podcast that their Vekoma Family Boomerang was promised to be the first one to open in America, thus Soapbox Racers wouldn’t open with the park on April 20.

Been awhile since you wrote this but Holiday World posted a video update with a timeline for testing since their track was completed or near completion (while KI had just started going vertical). If there aren’t two crews for testing, it seems there’d be no way for KI to get ahead. Plus, “late spring” is any time through June 19 without being a lie.

Wish KI had a festival similar to Knott’s Boysenberry Festival or Peanuts Celebration in the spring so it wouldn’t matter so much when new rides opened.

New construction update from yesterday, looks like the coaster will start going vertical next week!  ^_^

Looks like a truck is backing up right now, with what looks like another piece of the coaster or supports. Here's a new pic.

Word on the street is that the first piece of track has officially been installed. You can keep up with this by viewing the web cams (the best you can) or if you want a piece on Woodstock’s Whirleybirds for some reason, check out the Kings Island Team’s social.

DOUBLE POST: We have another lift piece in place! Honestly this thing will probably be complete in 2 weeks max at this rate. I'm guessing they want it testing by opening day.

Still crazy to me how that's only 6 inches shorter than FoF

Just curious are they waiting till spring to paint the flying aerial chase roller coaster? I figured it would be green by now.

Looking at the cameras this morning (as I do every morning) noticing the landscaping around surf dog and behind it is being redone.

Woodstock's Air Rail (FKA: Flying Ace) is currently being power washed. Looks like painting will start soon!

Told y'all this coaster would go up quick lol

The track length is only 672ft, so it's no surprise they got the track work done so quickly. I think Good Gravy only took a few days to complete track work as well.

Yes, now they only have to build the theming structures and repaint Woodstock Air Rail

Good grief! How is this "breaking news?"  It has been released by the park on their channels and discussed here.  I mean, let's call the OG iPhone "breaking news" in your channel's next segment!  ;)
