  1. I will be there on the 19th since it is my company that has bought out the park.
  2. That hill by The Beast is a pain to walk up
  3. ^ I wonder what the reasoning is for that? If it is true.
  4. Would be cool if we could get some ariel photos of Coney during the flooding as I am sure it's under water right now.
  5. I could definately see some upsets in the Nick/I Street division
  6. MSN maps hasn't been updated in a while either
  7. Actually KI had hosted at least a few runs a year when it was under Paramount. The runners would use the maintenance roads for their run. From the press release (" taking in unique views of our popluar attractions")it sounds like they will be taking the same path as they always have.
  8. Unless something has changed, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, IJST is a part of Rivertown.
  9. Nice Pics Gordon
  10. I will be there on April 19, so technically yes I will be there on opening day.
  11. I have never heard of this addional land but it would be interesting to know if this is true.
  12. Sounds like KI is really pushing their shows again, which is nice to see. There were a lot of years where the owners couldn't care less about the entertainment department.
  13. I will half agree with you, I liked Hypersonic, although I only rode in once. However I believe that Volcano was much better than it, at least when I rode them. Not sure if anything major has changed in the past 2 or 3 years to either ride to change my opinion.
  14. I'd rather have more trashcans than seeing fewer, but overflowing, trashcans. Brings back memories of Roller Coaster Tycoon... "This path is disgusting"
  15. Well technically it has been down since the season ended, so some might think of that as a lot of downtime.
  16. I don't think any department will be stressing the name changes as much as you might think. They might mention it once during their department trainings, but I wouldn't expect anything more than that.
  17. CoastersRZ, how many employees would you say Coney hires every season?
  18. It depends on when you rode IJST. The ride has gone through many different programs, in which the blocks have been changed. So it is possible that you were riding while one of these changes went on.
  19. I think what KIBeast is trying to say is that there were many employees that were let go that had worked for the park for many years, and knew the park and it's operations backwards and forwards that could have helped in the transition.
  20. ^That pretty much explains it all.
  21. no pun intended right?
  22. Actually, as I said in another post, the company I work for now bought out the park on April 19.
  23. The company I work for actually bought out the park on April 19 so that sounds right.
  24. I don't think of an empty amusement park as depressing, but meerly a side of an amusement park that not many people get to see. I always enjoy walking through an empty amusment park whether it be during the off season at KI, or just walking though Coney after a concert at Riverbend on my way back to the car. There is a special ambiance about an empty amusement park without the chatter of people and the sounds from games and rides.
