  1. I think the price has always been that high or at least close to that, even before CF took over.
  2. I guess they aren't doing the traditional July 3rd festivities (the same that will be on the 4th) as they have done in the past to give more people a chance to attend.
  3. I can understand someone saying Beast was running a little slow today, but to say that it was going 20 mph less than what is listed as a normal operating speed is a big difference. I was just trying to figure out what the accuser is basing their information on. I am sure DeLorean Rider, as a former supervisor of The Beast, can enlighten us on this topic.
  4. What proof do you have that it is only traveling 50 instead of the speed that they have on the website? Have you sat on every inch of the track with a lazer or radar gun and clocked the train as it goes by? How can you tell that you are going 50 while riding and not 65 or 70?
  5. $13? Wow, I never actually knew how much a locker in BB was until now. I guess if people are willing to pay that much for a locker for the day, the park can justify such a high price. I am hoping that you have unlimited access to that locker all day long unlike the others in the hard park where you pay each time you open it up.
  6. How many trains were they running on the AE and where was the line backed up to?
  7. ^That's how it was on our company day on April 19. Maybe it has gotten better as the employees got more experience over the past few months, but that is what I experienced.
  8. Go to Carowinds and ride it.
  9. Alcohol is not free. KI caters the meal and cooks it in house. Honestly the food is not that great, you can probably expect Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, and maybe ice cream. If you want hot food, I would get there as early as you can because the food just sits out until the container it's in is empty.
  10. See below, this was announced in a press release on this site in March... "It has been officially announced that Halloween Haunt 2008 will be FREE with your 2008 season pass! Weekends in October, Nickelodeon Universe will be loaded family-friendly Halloween-inspired attractions... but when daylight turns to starlight, Kings Island will transform from a destination of summer fun into a haunted haven where demons lurk around every corner. Purchase your 2008 season pass now and get FREE parking and FREE admission to Halloween Haunt! "
  11. Kudos to the rides crew for noticing what what going on and taking immediate action.
  12. The SOB incident (if we are thinking of the same one) had nothing to do with brakes at all.
  13. As others have already said, the "2 clicks" rule does not apply to this type of restraint system. When boarding there is yellow tape that needs to be showing, even if it's just a little bit. It's hard to explain without actually showing someone. The girl was actually doing her job and trying to keep everyone safe. As far as her saying that it needed to go down one more click twice, it's hard to judge how many clicks it would take to have the yellow tape show. I made the same mistake the ride's first year and had to turn away some people because the restraint was just too tight to handle for over 2 minutes.
  14. Can't leave without having Chicago style pizza too.
  15. Sorry about your bad day that you had. If they were only running one train, I am sure that they had a good excuse for taking the others off especially on a Saturday. I can tell you running that ride with one train is no fun for the crew working it, they would rather have all 3 trains on the track then just one. The Gold Pass line is for the speed passes. A limited number of speed passes are given out to Gold pass members (season passes). The speed passes give them a designated time that they can come back and get in line to ride that particular ride. It is similar to Disney's Fastpass system, minus the fancy machines that spit out a ticket.
  16. I have seen it done hundreds of times, it's not as spectacular as you might think. The track moves over very slowly, and then the train is moved onto the transfer track manually or automatically (BLST).
  17. ^Agreed. I think you can expect the crowd to pick up as the day goes on, plus you have to remember a lot of schools are letting out for the summer today.
  18. ^What they said...just show your pass.
  19. ^I have actually used that line before
  20. The crew can't just decide at 9:00, oh let's take a train off. Trains are rarely taken off for small crowds because it is hard to predict them unless there is a buyout.
  21. I would guess that they are talking about Cedar Creek Mine Ride since the last I checked there aren't many mine rides at CF
  22. ^FOF was open on April 19th when I was there, and I have seen a few trip reports of others that have ridden it.
  23. Not many people would understand what that meant, which is why they are taught to say "technical difficulties."
