  1. And looking into it there are actually 5 haha. Crypt- KD, Riptide- KBF and VF, Thunderbolt- WOF, and Firefall-CGA
  2. I can think of 4 Cedar Fair parks that operate Top Spins. If one really wanted to get on one the closest would probably be KD. Not to mention it seems like almost every Six Flags park has one also. They aren't that hard to find.
  3. Honestly have any Top Spins been removed from any CF park besides KI for obvious reasons?
  4. Someone better tell KD that Cedar Fair is coming for their Top Spin!
  5. It's likely possible for it to run without any water at all however you might want to hold on tight when it finishes coming down the hill and goes into that turn. Edit. The Mile High Falls show water didn't operate due to a busted pipe.
  6. If that is grounds for failure I am curious who certified the former Navy Pier Giant Wheel to operate, it had continuous movement even during loading/unloading.
  7. I used to work at the park. When they said that I think they meant a separate weekly inspection, which is more intense and has more components checked vs the daily inspections. Each ride is inspected daily and must be signed off by a technition before it opens to the public each day. Then there is the weekly inspection that requires more than just checking basic components for example, Thunder Run would have its entire support structure checked weekly. While on the daily inspection it may be a track walk, chain, and train inspection.
  8. What exactly is a "King's Clown" carnival ride? From the pictures I've seen they aren't showing the ride itself.
  9. I'm just glad it was able to detect a problem and stop on those brakes. Had the car continued and engaged the lift this could have been much worse.
  10. From what I heard, the winds exceeded the operational limits of the rides, so in order to reopen the park, each individual ride would have to be re-inspected. And being it was already 6 they wouldn't have had time to do it.
  11. Vortex Lover, I was also In the park today. They closed the rides because of the high winds from the severe storm that passed through. If it was just rain they would have reopened. It was fun today though
  12. 4 were injured. http://m.ktre.com/ktre/db_388993/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=du5IgmNR
  13. As far as what KI spends on attractions, certainly not a large installation, however a 300+ ft tower that cost several million and has significant downtime isn't doing them any favors. I had 5 visits last season, WindSeeker was not operational for any of them.
  14. What about WindSeeker?
  15. If you get on the Giant Wheel and look towards the water park the area is closer to where Adventure River is. They own all of the land behind the current water attractions which is currently an abandoned parking lot.
  16. KK cannot build a Giga, however there is a spot that is open that belongs to the Kingdom that is just tall enough for them to build a Hyper. Would that along with the RMC be enough to draw visitors from KI? Maybe, especially if they are able to continue the $60 season pass.
  17. Just remember though, adding the larger attraction may backfire on Kings Island, for example many people prefer the Classic HUSS Frisbee vs the Giant.
  18. ^ yes, this is why both of these smaller parks make at least some viable threat to Kings Islands business. Let's say you live in nowhere Indiana which happens to be positioned exactly 2 hours away from any of the three parks. It's 95 degrees outside and you know you want to go somewhere that will keep you cool. Are you going to opt for SC which the one time I tried there was a long line for even the lazy river which frankly is ridiculous. Or are you going to opt for SS or HB? Both of which offer a wide variety of choices and if needed, could keep one occupied for the day.
  19. Although Hart also only promised to spend 42 million within the first 3 years. Storm Chaser put him $10 million above that. If his goal is to get the park sold and make money he will surely do whatever he can to make the park as desirable as possible to potential buyers. That had already started with the latest installment which up to now only large parks have had (I-Box).
  20. What is KK's height limit? Depending on how business does after Storm Chaser I could see them attempting to put in something like this right at their height limit.
  21. That area is famous for housing attraction names that may cause a trademark complaint though, so it would fit right in, right?
  22. Maybe they will rebuild the second side of Twisted Twins and call it Twister. Maybe that way one side could be Storm Chaser and the other side be the Storm itself!
  23. Oh my that one appears to be low. At minimums actually, (below 200ft) either that or this angle is perfect.
  24. These things still pack an out of control feeling without beating you to a pulp in a way that rides like Voyage do. They have many quick changes in direction that seem like they will throw you from your seat without causing you any pain.
  25. Have you ridden an RMC? it's much more than just trying to stick in as many inversions as possible. See New Texas Giant.
