^I am pretty sure sure that i have seen this somewhere on here also. Hmmm, I wonder how Disney truly felt about taking her to ride a coaster from a park owned by a completely different and rival animation company.
  2. They do look very much alike, the only thing that i can see different is the curved angle at the top of the supports on DB where the ones on intimidator are straight. I just wonder when CF will build a new coaster with a track color that is not a shade of red.
  3. The videos were fantastic! Thanks for posting! It is kind of depressing though how in the second video, tower gardens "Paramount Story" looked so good and well kept. Though now, it is a wasteland with chipped, cracking artificial cliffs and non-functioning waterfalls. The only thing that happens there is cemetery drive. Another thing that i noticed, was how as soon as Paramount took over, they immediately made changes and added there mark everywhere, whereas when CF took over, the park still looked the same and has slowly transformed. There getting it done, although it is taking them 3 years

    Don't forget about Planet Snoopy
  5. I see what you're getting at, but let's not say CP as a park has "practically zero themeing." 2 of their 3 kids areas are pretty heavily themed (I'd say about as much as NU), and the 3rd has a lite (albeit 70's) castle themeing. Two of the major areas of the park are themed, and are both beautifully done (Frontier Town and Frontier Trail, with the trail being much better done than Rivertown IMO). The new games area is aesthetically very pleasing, and several of the new rides are themed fairly well. In fact, the themeing on Disaster Transport (the poster child of CF theme fail) has been worked on this season, and much of the original on ride themeing is back under lights and looking good. Well said IMO, i actually have a lot of faith in CF with the retheme of NU to PS. I will admit though, i will miss nick. The main reason for my faith is that it seems like ever since CF aquired PP, they have gotten better with theming (Disregarding The Crypt) its like they have a bit more of an emphasis on it now. Heck, they even signed a contract with the Dale Earnhardt company to use him in theming.
  6. My parents also beleive thats the reason The Bat was torn down. I guess it is just another conspiracy theory.
  7. Yes....it would be great to see that...too bad were talking about Cedar Fair. The people who see excelent theming as a plague to their wallets
  8. Yea, anyone know what those are for exactly? Are they for haunt, or just to spruce up the Coney Mall atmosphere/theme.
  9. Wow, yet another ride that CP is building with a lite theme. I feel as though CP is starting to shift a few millimeters at a time towards a themed amusement park, like our home park. Do you think that maybe perhaps they learned something about this kind of stuff after the 2006 aquisition?
  10. That Building is used for other things as well, its a huge building and the ride does not take up the entire area. they use it for storage. On my last KI trip i was walking by the rear of the building and seen a large garage door open, so i nearly broke my neck trying to see what was in there lol.looked like shelving, trash cans and such. anyone else se the same thing? Park Services Warehouse/Office area. So yes, that building is fairly important. Not too mention a Haunt maze is in the building as well. Really? Which one? I am pretty sure that would be CarnEvil.
  11. really? the two largest amusment park chains in the u.s. both use older cartoons as their mascots.(six flags: looney toons, Cedar Fair: peanuts) Don't forget about a certain cat in a hat and his home at the Land of Suess at Universal Universal uses the cat in the hat for its kids area at a park, and that particular character is as old if not older than Snoopy.
  12. EDIT: Nevermind, KD is also getting Planet Snoopy, KI is all that is left to be confirmed.
  13. So, as of now Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, and CGA are all replacing nick and HB with Planet Snoopy, im guessing.....KD and KI are next
  14. KIBOB replied to Coney Islander's topic in KI Polls
I think that we now have a little hint up in Canada of whats to come, well more like a brick wall with HINT painted in big bold letters. So, i dont think that the scooby theming will last much longer, if not even for another season.
  15. I know, im just thinking that the park might not like a scooby themed ride smack in the middle of Planet Snoopy. They might even go ahead and do a retheme to get it out of the way before the Sally Rides contract expires.
  16. I was referring to the one in Canada's Wonderland, where Planet Snoopy was announced for 2010, and will completely take over Nick Central AND Hannah-Barbera Land, which SDATHC is a part of.
  17. I know what you mean, before last year, the biggest coaster in the park i could stomach was The Racer. Now, after riding DB and riding it over and over, a ride on The Beast, or even Vortex wont even give me the slightest "stomach in the throat" sensation. It is just speed, and air flying by me. However, Invertigo still seems to give me a slight bit of that sensation "facing forwards first".
  18. If the same thing happens to kI, that is going to happen at Canada's Wonderland next year, then we will definently see SDATHC getting a new theme. I am still pondering on how Cedar Fair's retheme of SDATHC at Canada's Wonderland from Scooby to Peanuts will turn out
  19. It looks as though the cedarfairization and deparamountization process at Canada's Wonderland will complete after next year. Now i can really see the Peanuts coming to KI. I wonder if CF went ahead and extended it to all the other former paramount parks?
  20. I guess we will all have to endure yet another round of CF's famed guessing game. There are just so many things that are being questioned for the 2010 season, whether it be the fate of SoB, the Nick licensing, the crypt, or an additional flat in new space. We will just have to play out this round of the game and speculate.
  21. I have also noticed an increase in speed, i was at the park last night and by chance decided to ride Dodgem and i was surprised by how fast the cars were going.
  22. Like i have said before, i always thought that Paramount should have put BLSC in Action Zone. It would have fit perfectly with the theme. It probably would have fit really nicely behind Delirium in the rest of the former KC location. Thunder Alley could have even been removed for more room. However, they decided to place it in a totally unrelated area. Why they did this, i shall never know...
  23. i noticed that the park has replaced a lot of burnt out light bulbs.
  24. Just as railrider said, i think that the part of the ride where just a lap bar might have problems would be the corkscrews coming off the MCBR before the batwing. The cars coast rather slowly through those and there might not be enough centrifugal force for a lap bar to work safely.
  25. That is kind of aggrivating how our Crypt was gutted while KD's is still nearly the same. Heck, the KD Crypt even has a better logo
