  1. I would not be surprised.
  2. None of that makes any sense. So. What? How is it the Koch family at all to blame for the state of the park? And it sounds like the only thing coming out of Hart is this "Wow, the park is in rougher shape than I thought. It should be okay, but man is it rough. Look at all this work Im going to have to do. I hope to get the funding, but wow so much work needs to be done. Nothing good left. Park in bad shape. " So when he does walk away, everyone says, wow he tried but the park is in just so bad of shape. If anyone should be to blame, it's the Fair Board. According to them Six Flags had no claim to anything so what was left is theirs and they're the ones who've let it rot. It's hard to hire people when you don't have money to pay them. If you didn't understand what I was saying the possible reason for the extension that was approved in late April could have been proposed to allow the fairboard to pay for the utilities, security, etc. That helps keep more money in the pocket of Ed Hart and the Development team until the lease is official. When the lease if official June 27, the development team will take over the payments for utilities, security, etc. So Your saying this project has $0 funding? I doubt it, and I put my money on it that Kentucky Kingdom will reopen May 24, 2014
  3. Look at what I've found on Craigslist http://louisville.craigslist.org/ofc/3851216650.html The Weber Group was partners with Hart once before
  4. The week/day of the deadline I would expect the lease to be official. From the recent report last week the fairboard is still paying for security, water, etc. So if I was Ed, I would use the entire extension to preserve money for the reopening. That could explain why the lease was not official in April.
  5. No. It's not. Even you admit these photos don't back up your claims, so why post them? Routine cutting of the grass is not "construction" nor is there any money to fund "construction" nor is there any incentive to. Why would Hart build anything when his plans aren't set in stone? He's a good businessman, he wouldn't waste money like that. We get it, you want the park to open, but making things up isn't going to help KKs case. Edit: I also love that you challenge Shaggy to visit the Fairgrounds himself, and if you had read his post you'd realize he did just that. Those photos is just a photo update someone had posted. I didn't say that was "construction". I know what construction is, workers at the top of a rides working hammering, etc. Every time I post pictures on fourm sites I cannot post them because the files are too large or other complications. It is way too time consuming trying downsize photos imo. How do you or any of you know if Hart plans aren't set? He has not said a thing since he had asked the fairboard for more time to finish up the financing. I am not sure if any of you live 7 minutes or less away from the park but I go through the fairgrounds weekly on a regular basis. I did not say Shaggy is wrong or anything I am just telling you guys what I saw from earlier this week which was construction. Kentucky Kingdom will be open daily one year from now...FACT
  6. Posting photos on this site is difficult. If you don't believe me fine. Go through the fairgroudns yourself. A photo update has been posted on themeparkreview. It isn't showing anything I've noticed this week construction wise. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51557&p=1316914&hilit=kentucky#p1316914
  7. Less than a year!!!
  8. From what I have seen today as I went through the fairgrounds renovations/construction has just began. We should get a 411 from the media a little bit
  9. Kentucky Kingdom will be open one year from now. I heard two coasters that was meant for Kentucky Kingdom where put into World of Adventure. Xflight/Firehawk may have been one of them But I've heard Dominator was custom made to be at the front of the park in the year 2000. It was going to take the place of the vampire and the squid waterslide, but Six Flags went cheap and put in Road Runner in 2000 and Sky Coaster later in 2001.
  10. So you believe Hart is going to walk away? I Doubt it. Can't see him pulling the plug on this. Especially as to how he has gotten
  11. I am not worried at all. I am very positive. Don''t be surprised to hear some news about the park by the end of this week or sometime next week. I say that because the park is expected to reopen in a little under 367 days. We are days away from the one year countdown.
  12. Yeah I do but posting pictures on here is difficult. I past by the park again today and the shed I was referring to has what looks to be a work shop set outside of it. Inside the shed hold tools, ride cars, etc.
  13. As I drove through the fairgrounds today I had noticed that rides and buildings have labels on them. Tree's have been trimmed down and sheds are being cleared out it. The entire perimeter of the park (fences, etc) has orange flag markers around it. There is a flag just about every 30-45 feet. Things are getting more and more active in the park as days progress.
  14. Went by the park today, A tree company was inside the park trimming trees. However, I noticed other trees where trimmed outside the park on KFEC property.
  15. Well, I went pass the park this passed Thursday. The park is starting to look prep up for renovations as dumpsters inside the park which usually sits empty are becoming full. There are construction vehicles behind Chang's old footprint on a lot which is the KFEC property. But I am not sure if it is for the park or just for something else because construction vehicles pop up on the lot several times a year.
  16. I really didn't appreciate this comment, also what do you mean by west ender? Teens? or Black People? Tell me. Also tell me when has Ed been a failure at operating Kentucky Kingdom? I will be proud to send this complaint to Ed Hart. I am sure this will motivate him even more to prove YOU wrong.
  17. Financing is fully set for Kentucky Kingdom to reopen http://www.wave3.com/story/21945539/changes-made-to-budget-to-get-kentucky-kingdom-open-on-time
  18. Dan Koch posted several comments as well. Check it out on coasterbuzz.
  19. Well...We finally have new news!!! http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20130325/NEWS01/303250084/Kentucky-Kingdom-rehab-will-cost-more-than-first-thought
  20. The Save Kentucky Kingdom facebook group has sent out a message on facebook. "A lot of folks are asking us for an update and the latest news. Here is what we know: The Kentucky Kingdom Redevelopment Corporation has been working non-stop both in the park and with those involved in the financing. They are currently assessing the exact needs and costs of renovating current buildings and attractions and adding new ones. Much progress has been made in the last few months and there is much work left to do before the Summer of 2014. When and if there is a major announcement, we will be sure to share it with you. In the meantime, don't worry that the park hasn't been in the news. The major political hurdles have been cleared so the media doesn't have a story to report. Thank you to everyone for your support. Keep the excitement and anticipation going. It will be a wonderful day when the park is open to the public again."
  21. Dude, the reason why I was shaking my head is because the Kochs abandoned the project once tax incentives were improved.
  22. Lot of "ifs" in those sentences. Water park attractions are very complex machines that require upkeep and maintenance and generally aren't meant to store runoff and rain water for several years. You're assuming that what you saw was a water park inspection and assuming that you're correct then somehow they must be "wrapping up" ride inspections? And why should we expect tax incentive news in two to three weeks, has that been reported somewhere? Vague speculations. I await some words from Mr. Hart. Yes I am assuming it. Also tax incentives as well. Even Hart said he doesn't expect (as he assumed) that the incenitives will take long to get nor the evaluation of the park. The reason I am assuming that the tax incentives will be approved in that time frame 2-3 months. We are going into the thrid month month. I'm also looking into the time frame bluegrass bw recieved approval. smh
  23. If the water park was indeed inspected last week, my guess is they are starting to wrap up with ride inspections. I mean, it is the water park. It is not anything major compared to Thunder Run, T2, Twisted Twins and the Giant Wheel. But we just never know.
