Banshee Rattle
My last ride on Banshee was in the backseat and was remarkably bad. I had some fairly smooth rides on it last season but now I don't know what to think. I wonder if need to bring in B&M and sort out what's going on with it because a B&M invert shouldn't be like that.

Land Clearing/Markings spotted at Worlds of Fun
It did in fact say "wood coaster foundations" The record has been modified but if you look at the attached PDF, it still says "wood coaster" under "location"

Land Clearing/Markings spotted at Worlds of Fun
Discussed here (not a channel I normally follow but it popped up in my feed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA-Cph7bdMU Interesting that they would get a woodie considering they have Prowler and Timber Wolf.

Child Injured by Flying Phone at Six Flags Magic Mountain
I mentioned this in another thread, but a pair of guys behind me on The Beast lift hill were called out by the ride op over the speakers and afterwards during the ride they kept referring to the op as as a "psycho" who was "power tripping." I think you're totally right about their mentality.

Goodness. It's bad enough to cause an injury but then the lack of sympathy to a little girl that you just seriously injured, that's abhorrent.

Phantom Theater Encore Reviews
In my experience, kids just get frustrated with the guns on Boo Blasters. I know modern thinking is that all kids are constantly playing games all the time and have some level of ADHD requiring interaction but reality says otherwise.

The Bat is down
I think most of us agree that we want to keep the experience of walking through that tunnel-like entrance. However, that can be kept while still giving us a nice looking facade, instead of having a bunch of plain roofing shingles that they just cover with a large banner.

Cedar Fair to close California’s Great America
I wondered that the other day. Sounds like the idea is more or less dead now.

6’ 3” 295 pound man. What can’t I ride?
To expand on this: try Racer first since the line will almost certainly be shorter and move faster. If you can get on that, you can get on The Beast. Backlot Stunt Coaster can be pretty tight too, very similar to Flight of Fear. As far as flat rides: you almost certainly won't get on Drop Tower, to be honest, but everyone is built different so I can't say 100%. Delirium has a test seat to try. Other rides can vary. Some of the older flat rides are very tight but WindSeeker I believe to be pretty roomy.

Kings Island 2022 Food News and Reviews
Well they were offering a "free upgrade," so they aren't actually making any money on those of us with an existing drink plan.

You can always hope that KI gets the last remaining Bayern Kurve in the country.

Psycho Mouse from CGA rumored to move to Cedar Point
Screamcape (so take that how you will) has now said that someone told him earlier this year that CP would be getting Psycho Mouse. Obviously CP is wealthy with coasters but they don't have a mouse while all other CF parks (other than KI) have either a mouse or an arguably similar spinning coaster. Also, this would give CP a total of six Arrows.

This one is more frustrating rather than funny. Guys behind me on The Beast were called out (while on the lift) for having a phone out. They proceeded to call the ride op a "psycho" who was "power tripping"

Kings Island 2022 Food News and Reviews
A couple things from my trip today: Tried The Beast Burger at Jukebox diner and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Jukebox also seems to have some of the better fries in the park, imo. Awhile back I had Chicken Shack which now has extraordinarily bland fries (is there a reason sidewinder fries disappeared from the park?) Later I tried the italian meat croix sandwich from the French corner. I wanted something light and the heat made a cold meal sound more appealing. The sandwich was pretty good, albeit small. Despite some other reviews, I went for the the potato salad and I thought it was okay. It was like having a really light, healthier potato salad. Also, I noticed they started offering to "upgrade" my drink plan to a bottle most of the time I use it. Perhaps trying to relieve their cup shortage issue?

Learn something new every day. But this guy was clearly referring to the recent TGG retrack. Speaking of AE, the guy who said MT isn't a wood coaster also said all the statues in AE were broken. Clearly hadn't been on it in a while.

Cedar Fair to close California’s Great America
That's very much up to the owner, the City of Gilroy. Chances are this won't affect them except maybe they purchase a small ride or two. Or maybe CF can donate a ride as a tax write off? The park runs as a 501c3 non-profit. *shrugs*

Guests Say The Darnest Things
My cousin (who is about 50) mentioned The Bat killing someone the other day. I tried to be polite about correcting her. Here are some fun things I've heard in recent trips: The Racer was retracked by GCI (easy mistake to make I suppose). Woman on Orion telling her husband that they were planning to take out Diamondback but that got delayed because of Vortex Some know-it-all type behind me on DB said that Mystic Timbers "isn't even a real wood coaster because it has steel <inaudible>"

CGA is closing, should we be concerned about Canada’s Wonderland
It's still a big stretch. CW is the most popular seasonal park on the continent and will easily bounce back, regardless of Canadian regulations. It's also the best park in Canada (arguably the only great one). So I question if the government would actually step in to prevent closure.
-
Plus size riders
Everybody is at least a little different, so there's no magic number. Were you close to being able to ride Banshee and Diamondback at your previous weight? Fortunately, they do have test seats at the ride entrance, so that you can find out before you get in line.

Cedar Fair to close California’s Great America
This guy makes some pretty good points https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOAPArbF4xc CGA is in one of the most expensive places to do anything in the US and has struggled in terms of profitability and they tried to offload the park 10+ years ago. They probably tried to find a buyer for it this time around as well. Still sucks and I question if it was the right financial move, but CF has a pretty big debt to cover.

Cedar Fair to close California’s Great America
Was it? I don't see it listed anywhere as a relocation.

Cedar Fair to close California’s Great America
Wait, so if they keep it open 11 more years (seems unlikely), they would be paying more than 150 million in rent (half of what they're getting but I don't know what they property tax savings is) AND they are losing revenue as the park winds down and ultimately the business as a whole including those rides that can't be relocated AND they are losing whatever extra cash they would make by selling the land at the end of the term when it will likely be more valuable. I'm no expert. but it seems like they're better off ****ing everyone off and closing the park this year.

Cedar Fair to close California’s Great America
Patriot is so old, I can't imagine it being worth moving. Maybe they send the trains to Carowinds to convert Vortex. Flight Deck is also old, but also a better ride. Can it get much more life? Keep in mind that relocating a ride isn't cheap. Would love to see Railblazer go to MI or maybe DP/WOF/VF. Gold Striker is probably doomed, though at least it gives something for guests to ride as the other rides get removed? Seems like all the parks but CP and KI have either a wild mouse or a single-car spinning coaster. So maybe we get Psycho Mouse? ...Think the bayern kurve would fit in the slingshot spot?
-
Cedar Fair to close California’s Great America
Railblazer is probably a better fit at one of the smaller parks. Guess I need to get on Gold Striker before its gone.
