  1. I've found the accuracy to improve as the season progresses. Early in the season, most of the times shown were double what they were in reality. And yeah, apparently crowds were super light on Sunday. I'm planning to head there Wednesday hoping the heat thins out the crowds.
  2. Yeah, that could be wrong. Also, are the lines today (a Sunday) really as short as being reported?
  3. Can't decongest without new attractions to pull people to the new areas. KI actually has enough land to build an entire new dry park the size of the existing one but that wouldn't happen for many reasons.
  4. If you expect a warning first, it means you don't actually need a warning.
  5. Did you ride recently? Others seem to indicate the stop-start thing was resolved. I agree about the breakdowns though. I've been in line multiple times this season only for the ride to be shut down, and considering how long the lines have been, that's frustrating.
  6. No, Orion was already complete and operational when these were taken (and those are way too small to be supports). I thought it was queue piping but someone above mentioned bike racks?
  7. This aerial photo is probably from 2020 (based on the still-not-grown-in grass next to Orion).
  8. And people who don't know how to use the freestyle machines or don't press hard enough.
  9. I doubt they are that concerned about people stealing soda with those tiny water cups, tbh
  10. On a related note, that day is also Juneteenth and many people now have Monday off work (since Juneteenth is on a Sunday). So I wonder if Monday will have higher than usual crowds.
  11. That thread isn't that helpful when you're at the park trying to decide how long a wait is before you get on. It's not exactly real-time. I meant something more like "if the line ends at this point, the wait is typically 60-80 minutes." A lot of people with less experience at the park might have trouble gauging the waits because of deviations in capacity, hidden queue areas, and so on.
  12. I never go on saturdays but from what I know, getting all the credits without at least the regular Fast Lane might be difficult. Flight of Fear should be your first stop unless maybe you can get the early ride on Orion before 10 (I don't know how possible that is on a Saturday). Then probably Orion (since its right there and still somewhat new) and Backlot Stunt Coaster. There's also Flying Ace Aerial Chase (Vekoma SFC), in the kids area if you want that, and Invertigo, both with only one train. The B&M's of course have fast moving lines. Mystic Timbers' moves okay. Racer line moves fast if both sides are running. The Beast has been getting some heavy lines but if you want to get it at night, you might save it. You're kind of stuck with a choice: the legendary Beast night ride (you will be forced to stay in a line that doesn't move after 9:30 until the fireworks are done) or maybe one of the other great night rides (Mystic Timbers, Orion, Diamondback, and even Adventure Express) or do you want to watch the new, impressive fireworks and drone show? Can't do 'em all I'm afraid. We almost need a guide on this site on how to gauge the current wait times for rides since the app has been so inaccurate.
  13. I would think so too but it seems like they have things spread all over the place. It looks like that's where they store pipe for...queues maybe? Can't tell exactly.
  14. Seems like they have a little hidden storage area hidden in there. Maybe just freeing up more space. I remember eating with my family in the picnic area that used to be there.
  15. I've never seen those tripod jacks (I guess thats what you would call them?), but that gray track piece in the grass (service track?) has been sitting there for a while.
  16. Yeah, I'm not going to pay a bunch of money to go an amusement park and deal with travelling there only to pay even more money for the right to sit on some comfy seats instead of heading to the next attraction. Doesn't even have AC or a good view. I suppose there are those people who need a rest now and then at the park but the difference between the lounge and any random bench would be hard to justify for anyone who isn't rich.
  17. This is what I've said for a while. The area is clearly ripe for a good, large amusement park and dry heat is always better than the crazy humidity we get as long as water is available. If they could have good water rides (would water limits cause an issue?) area people might flock to it.
  18. I never had a problem with KC except for those last bunny hops, especially bad when I was barely tall enough to ride in the late 80s. Honestly though, I would much rather let the concept die. It was just never that compelling.
  19. I'd be for a Top Scan. A Screamin Swing could work in Rivertown. How about just more covered flat rides that protect from rain? The park lacks those.
  20. I didn't quite get to see the full show but was rather on Diamondback when it started and got a great view of the drones first couple of displays on the lift hill. They seem to be really leaning on the Brady Bunch connection. They played "Sunshine Day" in The Racer station and I questioned if anyone else in the station had any idea what it was.
  21. Checked it out today. Pretty nice. A couple of the stones are broken though.
  22. I believe there was the Wheel of Fortune (Trabant) where Linus Launchers currently is when that was still part of Rivertown. It predates me, but you can see it in footage like the Brady Bunch episode
  23. Every coaster built in the 80s is gone, sadly.
  24. I'm not a fan of shooting dark rides in general, though I understand the appeal for kids. I just want good scenery and atmosphere. Any time I'm on an "interactive" ride, there's nothing memorable about it.
  25. Airtime Thrills is one of my favorite Youtube coaster channels and he started working recently on a KI history series. Episode 1 just released. He's a guy that grew up with SF Magic Mountain (did a nice history of that one already) and now lives in Oklahoma. So its interesting to see the history told by someone who didn't grow up with it like many of us. EDIT: Be warned that he has a very quickfire style where he basically lists off events and quotes.
