  1. What would I want in 2008? I'm pretty sure everyone here would want a new coaster but it's pretty unlikely. I chose "Other" because I'd want an owner that isn't apparently looking to resell the park so it's future doesn't feel like it's in limbo. Other than that, I'd want a new show in Action FX Theater, an affordable sit down restaurant (basically affordable food overall), and more congruent/better theming. I could also go with a flat ride in X-Base even though there's not much room back there.
  2. Many rides like Power Tower and Demon Drop are still open because they are different kind of drop rides. Power Tower isn't intamin and I don't believe it has cables and Demon Drop is Intamin, but doesn't have cables. From www.screamscape.com... I think this is what CoastersRZ was referring to, not Power Tower and Demon Drop.
  3. Okay, well I personally wouldn't mind Disney possibly buying CF. And by you saying that if you want to have fun with friends at a theme park you go to KI is exactly the reason why KI is possibly going to get another owner. KI, similar to CP and SFMM (and most SF parks), has a large teen/young adult fan base yet not as big of a family representation as Disney. Six Flags has recently decided to go the way of families. That is where the real money is, not with penny-pinching young people. P.S. As of right now, CF has a limited contract with how long they can use the Nickelodeon theme. They could easily renew the contract but who's to say CF won't necessarily theme NickU to Peanuts since that's what they've used at their other parks. Would you then hate CF because you like the "Nicktoons and HB stuff"? As long as things are themed and themed well, I usually don't care what the theme is. P.P.S. Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle would most likely become another Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin since it's similar to S-D.

I would like to know what they're working on.
  5. Comparing Space Mountain to FoF is like comparing AE to Rock 'N Roller Coaster... apples to oranges. IMO, Space Mountain or BTMRR is better than AE and Rock N' Roller Coaster is better than FoF. People on here have been complaining about how rough some of the rides are and every roller coaster at Disney is very smooth and well kept. How can you say that CF is dedicated to KI when they've owned it for little more than a year? And you're talking like if Disney would've bought KI instead of CF but this is talking about if Disney would buy CF since that's apparently what they are looking for. If Disney would buy CF then we'd still have Firehawk, a repaired SOB, and FoF (where would it go?). IMO, you have too limited of a view of the Disney Company from the one time you visited and most of your opinion has come from what other people say.
  6. How can they sue Intamin? In case you didn't know or didn't read this... I think SFKK is responsible for all damages in this case.
  7. It may be the original but what you consider cozy and quaint I consider one ride on top of another. I'm not saying that Disneyland is horrible, actually the exact opposite. Right behind WDW, I'd want to be at the Disneyland Resort in CA. That's probably just because I was raised going to WDW for family vacation and we've only recently gone to Disneyland a couple times. I love how the CA Downtown Disney is right there between the parks and the hotels and that does feel quaint but in the actual park, to me, it just feels like one line next to another and people are every where. But that's my opinion and I have to let you have yours too.

Yeah, because most of the talk on here since the fourth is people's experience on the new SoB and I wanted to see what I thought, but alas I was thwarted.
  9. Now of course I have no idea that Disney is thinking but I can guess. Like derek9312 said, it's very unlikely that Disney would but it would still be KI with the Disney flair. If people are going to go to WDW, they might stop by to see what that think it Ohio is all about but will still go to Florida because that's where it's at. However, the families from around Ohio, KY, IN, PA, WV that aren't sure if they wanna fork out the big bucks to go down to FL would be more likely come to KI and too see if this is any good and then base their decision to go to FL on that. Therefore by making KI a respectable experience, Disney would hook the families to wanting to go to FL. That's what I think but of course I'm not Disney.
  10. My guess, up. The prices for WDW look something like this. But then again that is a world wide resort destination and a large sized jewel in the Disney crown whereas KI is possibly getting a second owner change in as many years. It would most likely depend on how much money Disney would (or any company for that matter) puts into KI and how much they expect back per year.

Today my friends and I went to KI to hit up the early ride time in AZ, get a ride or two on SoB, and stroll aimlessly around the park to ride whatever else. We got there around 9:40 and walked through the crowd at the AZ barricade so we could get into AZ like the loyal Gold Pass holders we are. First we walked right to Delirium and a half full load made its way back and forth. Next, we walked over and right on to Face/Off where we were four of maybe eight on the train. As we were going up the lift hill we could heard the National Anthem being played over the speaker system so I knew the next place to go would be to SoB to see if it would open (since there was a sign at the entrance saying it's closed to repairs and might not open). Well sitting right in the queue for SoB was a sign saying it wasn't open with a person sitting there saying the same. So we got a ride on Top Gun since we were already there. After Top Gun, we started heading toward the back of the park by hitting AE. I noticed while going up the lift that a service door was open on the side of the FoF building and that meant it's most likely not open. Of course, after riding Racer then Recar, we walked back to X-Base to confirm that FoF was indeed closed. So then it went Vortex, IJST, Beast, TRTR, and Beast before we went to lunch. The sound during TRTR was mostly working (I forget all that happens because I haven't rode it that much but I think it was missing some talking during when you go up to the statue thing at the beginning). It was a lot better than the silent run I had earlier this year. So lunch took place at McDonalds down the street as a continued boycott of the prices. Once we came back we went to Boomerang Bay and by the time we got back to the main park we had just enough time to ride Firehawk and then we left. All in all it was a pretty good day even though when we were there (from 9:40-5) there was no sign of FoF or SoB ever opening.
  12. http://www.rcdb.com/ig731.htm?picture=1 Hence the reason I put 'basically all" instead of "all". Also... http://www.rcdb.com/ig732.htm?picture=1 http://www.rcdb.com/ig295.htm?picture=1 http://www.rcdb.com/ig1566.htm?picture=9 http://www.rcdb.com/ig274.htm?picture=2 just in the US, but who's counting? I wasn't saying they can't or won't, I was just saying that because it makes it easier to hold the theme when it's in a building so you're not looking at Great Wolf Lodge coming up the hill.
  13. First, why would a company (not just Disney but any company) spend billions for parks and then tear out the coasters? Second, why would a company spend billions for parks and then tear out the coasters?!? As have I and I agree. There's no place I'd rather be than Disney. The experience is worth the money itself, the rides are just an added bonus. I could see Disney buying (and greatly improving) every Cedar Fair park EXCEPT Cedar Point because there's not much room to do anything with and coasters aren't Disney's forte even thought they could work around it in other parks and not Knotts Berry Farm because of the closeness to Disneyland. As the article suggests, they would most likely sell them. I could see Disney keeping CP in only on instance. But it brings about a story... About five or six years ago there was a rumor about a ride called "Villain Mountain" where it'd be a coaster themed around the villains in Disney Movies (kinda like how Fantasmic has the villains). The site where my brother saw this also suggested the idea of a villain theme park at WDW where all the rides would be themed to villains and it'd be more of a thrill park to compete with IOA. Now, I think it would be amazing it Disney themed the rides at Cedar Point (since they already have the thrill rides) to villains and go that route but other than that I don't see them doing it. First, most of their shows are amazing and second Firehawk wouldn't be themed to Aladdin. Aladdin can't fly, he rides a carpet. Firehawk would go better with Peter Pan since he can fly whereas Aladdin would go better with Top Gun, which I thought about. So listen to what I would do... First Top Gun would be put in a building since basically all Disney coasters are inside or spend a good amount of time in a mountain. So the queue would be themed as an Arabian desert. The preshow video would take place right before the station which would brief you on a treasure hunting mission into the Cave of Wonders. So you'd get into the station which would be dark and lit with lights that look like torches and you'd hop into the trains which look like carpets which of course are supped up with Disney's awesome on-ride sound system. The track would be the same. You'd climb the first hill which would look like a huge sand dune. You'd get to the top, take the first turn and then stop right in front of this... The Cave of Wonders. It would be a huge structure where the mouth would move like the movie asking "Dare you enter the Cave of Wonders". Then the first drop would proceed take the first drop into the mouth. The first drop and turn around would be pitch black and the on-ride music would start. Once you take the drop after the horseshoe turn, that part of the ride would look like a cavern full of jewels and gold which would sparkle in the half lit cave. Some of the cave might act like it's collapsing like the final part of the scene in the cave. Right around the turn by SOB, there would appear the genie shown on the wall with a projector saying, "Follow me this way." He would then fly ahead and you could finish the ride in the brake section like normal but that would be the exit station for the new ride since that's how Disney does it. You would then proceed to exit the ride into the ride's gift shop where you would be tempted to buy your on-ride photo from when you just enter the cave. Then you think to yourself, this would've never happened with Paramount or CF... I'm so glad Disney bought the park.. However, my conclusion is the same as the Fool's...

Good stuff. That stinks that it rained most of the day but at least you got some good rides in. And I don't think if I was 8 I would've ever gotten on FoF. Hopefully he gives it another try when he's older.
  15. Too many to name
  16. And probably not this one either... http://www.rcdb.com/ig846.htm?picture=1
  17. LaRosa's in the park cost around $18 for a whole pizza I believe but I don't think they have the stuffed pizza at the park.
  18. If that's the case, everyone would be fired
  19. http://cwmania.com has a picture of construction at the park. It looks like it could be for the new coaster that was rumored about on the not-so-high-on-some-people's-list website www.screamscape.com or it could be for something entirely different.
  20. Apparently Worlds of Fun fans have the same idea.
  21. I don't see anyone buying CF but still letting them mange it. I voted for selling GL and other small parks to pay off the debt.
  22. That's amazing. You certainly do learn something new everyday.
  23. That's what they all say. I'm on to you, "Uncle"Henry.
