May 7, 20233 yr Author At work this morning and glanced at webcams. Dreary looking day and I counted 10 people on all three! Hope the weather breaks and everyone can enjoy a low crowd day.
May 9, 20233 yr I'm not a huge fan of the brown supports but the crimson red looks really good. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

May 10, 20233 yr The website has introduced a new chat feature. It is limited to its capacity information currently but glad to see this new upgrade and hopefully support customer service in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May 10, 20233 yr It looks like the asphalt was either redone or seal coated behind the Eiffel Tower and maybe in Rivertown as well. Although I would rather Kings Island replace the asphalt with anything but asphalt, the touching up is nice as the asphalt was not looking great as of recent.
May 11, 20233 yr Back in the Paramount days when there was a LOT more asphalt in the park, it would always reek on the first weekends from the seal coating, hit you walking up towards the entrance plaza and took at least a week after opening to fade.
May 11, 20233 yr If the tennis tournament moves to Charlotte, is there any reason for keeping KI open daily in the second week of August anymore ? Would they consider just weekends only after that first week of August ? The calendar this year already reflects closed Wed. - Fri. during the tournament, and has played a factor as the tennis tournament usually ends the same time as daily operations ends. Also to consider that schools are starting earlier with sports camps and band camps and college starting earlier also impacts the workforce at the park to switch operations to weekend only after the first week of August. I am seeing this as a new normal going forward. https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/warren-county/mason/western-southern-open-owner-proposes-moving-tennis-tournament-from-mason-to-charlotte?_amp=trueSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thread discussing the tourney here:
May 11, 20233 yr I'm not sure how much it actually benefits the park anyway. I always avoid the heck out of the tournament time because of traffic.
May 11, 20233 yr I always go that week due to the lower crowds. Never seemed like the tournament made much difference. I remember when the park would open the second to last week in August and it was always a great time to go.
May 13, 20233 yr With weekday operations starting this Wednesday, May 17th, I wonder how the Diamondback repaint schedule is going to look going forward. While a lot of progress has been made, there is still a decent amount to be done. I doubt that Baynum Solutions will be able to finish in the two days the park is closed before weekday operations start. Maybe Kings Island will close it during the week for repainting? That would be my best guess.

May 14, 20233 yr My visit last Sunday was the first time I have ever seen all the Jets of the new fountain working correctly since they installed it
May 16, 20233 yr Is it true the 275ft platform on the Eiffel Tower is open again? Last year it was barely open from what I was told was mechanical issue with that elevator. If its now open, that's great!

May 16, 20233 yr I feel like I should know this, but what are the heights of the two Eiffel Tower platforms? I’m thinking it’s 275 and 315 feet, but I’m not sure. TIA

Glad they were able to open it. 1 hour ago, disco2000 said: Yes they were running both on Sunday as well. Wdym by running both? The only time the tower has done a double plat in recent years was for fireworks when we could take guests up for that and we haven't done fireworks yet this year and we couldn't take people up for fireworks last year due to the lasers.

When looking at the elevators from the que entrance, left elevator goes to the 265 and right goes to the 275. Both elevators can only go to their respective levels.

There’s a couple AC units up there, which as a child I always liked to imagine that was the park’s “weather office” where the calls to close rides for lightning came from. I’m sure it’s just cell and communications equipment.

Velma, Fred and Daphne can no longer visit as they all have arthritic knees. Maybe if you are ever so lucky, on a clear, low humidity day, you can hear Scoob saying "Rook, Raggy at all the cars coming in on Western Woah Woad!"
