Mystic Timbers Construction Progress

Featured Replies

Well, I rode my hat on for the most part, about 75% of the roller coasters (Including larger ones) DB asked about a strap.

Looks as though they've gotten that crane out of the drop circle area so we can stop wondering when they'll move it.. The answer was Nov 4th.. ish.

Nearing the bottom of the first drop on Mystic Timbers!

Awesome pic! Spring can't get here soon enough

I hope they move the camera eventually or else we're going to have to get really creative with the Diamondback cam.

It looks like a majority of the the ride is almost pointing right at the camera~ we'll be able to judge progress fairly well despite it being super small

*i hope anyways :P*

I really do hope they add a second cam like they did on Banshee construction. Because this will get rather boring otherwise.

I'm guessing they will, if only to obscure construction of the shed. That would be really cool if they set up a cam in the woods, maybe at the lake crossing :)

^ If anyone at the park reads this, please do that! It would be neat watching that.

If there's an angle they can get of the water area from the train shed, I'd guess a second cam would go there. Especially since that might get them much closer to the construction back there for the tunnel and the run back over to Mystic Timbers's shed.

They should probably get their own drone and just fly it over the area once a day and post the video. Might even have one already.

Your are right once a day would be rather labor intensive (but fun for the pilot), the webcams are rather passive. Once or twice a week would be enough.

My thought process was more on the lines of audience retention lol
If it's once a day, most of the time I wouldn't expect much noticeable progress being made. But once a week or twice a month would allow the viewers to get hit with a good chunk of progress at a time..

But I may have over-thought this hehe

I don't know If anyone can tell or not from the webcam, but how much of the lift hill would you guys say is complete? It looks like it's almost down to the bottom, but it's hard to tell exactly.

I'd estimate about 2/3 finished with the lift hill. The rest should go up pretty quickly. The crossover is the last "tall" part of the ride.

^I am thinking it is all the way to the beginning of the lift hill now. Because it looks like they are working on the crossover section. I could be wrong though.

I think a temp cam on the front/roof of the Reds grille would be a good spot. Positioned correctly, you get the station construction and maybe a better shot down the main path of the ride.

Given the #whatsintheshed secrecy, I doubt we are going to see much of that part of the construction.

^Agreed.

Wishful thinking here, but a cam from the top of MT's lifthill looking down the hill would be perfect.

^ Great idea!

And I would assume that the view from up there would show a good majority of the construction, with the help of it being fall / winter and a lack of leaves on the trees.

I really think that whatever is in the shed won't be put in till the shed is built anyway. The interview where the GCI guy said he said he didn't even know what was in the shed pretty much means that it has nothing to do with drop tracks, backwards runs, or anything that would have to be special built by the manufacturer. Unless you think he just lied to everyone.

^ I bet he does know. [emoji6]

But we won't till April 2017, sadly. :(

i was thinking maybe they put a cam on that little building by where the turnaround will be.

^Agreed.

Wishful thinking here, but a cam from the top of MT's lifthill looking down the hill would be perfect.

I think this is highly unlikely. Running Ethernet all the way up there and then across a construction site to a network connection, is asking for it. Construction will destroy the cable all the time.

I hope they put a camera in view of the turn around going up.  I'd love to see one of those telltale GCI high banked curves go up.
