  1. That sounds good...I'm a fan of the brisket. If you are going to Dollywood, enjoy!
  2. I never claimed to be the smartest person here. I was only pondering the rationale of why they do what they do. As I said, I'm on the outside looking in. You seem a little sensitive today, maybe a Pub burger could help.
  3. I'm not judging Grace, but rather the wisdom of corporate, unless she is the corporate decision maker. Truthfully, this addition is " just good enough" to satisfy local passholders, the majority of whom get the information bombarded to them. Just seems to me, looking from the outside in, that the "big cheese" should have went to Chicago, a much bigger opportunity for market penetration and a much bigger investment. With Lindsey wooley britches winter here, they should have postponed Soak City's opening a week and waited for warmer weather for a bigger splash.
  4. Prior planning prevents poor performance. How much of a buzz was generated by having him there and her? I'd argue that, if she is the area supervisor, she should have been at the park they are really trying to build up if she is that good at her job. Kings Island is penetrated, so having her here and , imho, not making much of a splash, may have been the plan though. She didn't build much hype.
  5. Still doesn't make sense that he's not covering KI and Grave is. Thanks for clarifying.
  6. I'm sure someone does!
  7. Seems convoluted to me. I mean, you are flying someone in from Canada to Northern KY, all the hotels, meals and per diem that go along with it. There is a spokesperson that people around here have likely never heard of. You have someone else four hours away who wouldn't need airfare and much less expense with travel, hotel, meals and per diem. He also may have some name recognition since his long time park is four hours away? My point is: cost savings synergies and simplified structure do not seem to be paramount here. I don't know the expense ledger, however. But prior planning prevents poor performance. But then again, maybe no thought was put into it and they just needed a warm body to speak with media. The new six flags doesn't seem to value communication much.
  8. The ice cream sounds good, but when I think of The Beast, cookie dough and sprinkles don't come to mind ...that sounds more like the carousel or SR&R. I would think The Beast would better be represented by darker colors and flavors such as brownie chunks, chocolate chips and something orange.
  9. I'm not following...it takes you to a link to enter a promo code. What is the promo code?
  10. The local market doesn't care for the coaster that much, apparently, because it rarely has a line. Enthusiasts will not drive the attendance needle at KD much, if at all. Besides, the coaster is a snooze fest. I'd rather ride The Great Pumpkin Coaster for thrills than Pantherian.
  11. How did a spokesperson out of Canada become the head honcho? Like, of the whole company? If Magic Mountain was opening their new thing this year would she go out there?
  12. I'm trying to figure out how a person from Canada is now the spokesperson for KI.
  13. https://attractionsmagazine.com/six-flags-entertainment-future-focus-investor-day/?fbclid=IwY2xjawKbCQFleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHiyOgX407vlSTq5Y4paBt0NeIS4RWwP5eeSrryWWyKmtqKtljg-litCplqgG_aem_Fn-7C_wzhyzR-WClY0d9Gg
  14. I wish they would go for gusto and add in a ride like Verbolten in and out of the building. It surely has the potential to be a record breaking family thrill attraction. You have plenty of outdoor space, you have got height inside the building for some great interior elements and an opportunity to add to the lore of the area. But, whatever they do..please address the look of the outside of the building. Some paint would go a long way and some projection mapping lights would be great at night. Or just tear it down if it's not going to be used. Give up the ghost.
  15. Is this a function of exposure? For good or bad, at some point in life, I've gotten off of Diamondback, Firehawk, FoF, Vortex, Mystic Timbers and Orion with that question. But with familiarity, that goes away. I'm not at the point where this familiarity has bred contempt, but I wonder if some are?
  16. It could also fit into the International Street vibe, loosely, if they had Mr. Scrooge attached, with his quote: "Fetch me the biggest goose in all of London!" Chef Perez could also do a whole WinterFest menu with roasted goose. * Satire of course but I hate those stupid geese!
  17. They were found in the attic of one of the IS buildings, alongside Goodbye Coney, Goodbye. Kidding of course.
  18. Interesting that it's now Park Manager vs Vice President and General Manager.
  19. Great adventure must be a trial park. They have left out Six Flags at times. For example...it wasn't Six Flags Holiday in the Park, it was Great Adventure's Holiday In The Park. They also have opened up a Sweet Spot and installed refresh stations very similar to CF. And what's the deal with the Funsultant? The new one looks like a mean lady. I wonder if they are purposely building this campaign around the Funsultant not being fun so that Mr. six can come save the day and be the face of six flags again?
  20. Someone in a land far, far away (corporate) probably thinks that if they buy the pass now, they will upgrade to gold in three months for 2026. That may be the case, but they will likely downgrade to silver in 2027 and so on and so forth. That would save about $10 per year, correct? That's how out of touch people in this land far, far away might be. Or, this could be something conceived by a outside consultant.
  21. Thanks to groundbreaking and intelligent marketing. I get bombarded by ads for cheap silver passes daily.
  22. Seeing reports that at the Frontier Inn at CP, the burgers are premade from frozen, assembled, wrapped and placed in one of the display pans under a heat lamp. The photos looked terrible, think greasy, smashed bun and the "wormy" texture of '10-'15 burgers at KI. Is the chain going to mass produced frozen burgers, or was this an isolated incident confined to CP?
  23. RE: Royal Fountain: I understand the rationale for the "dynamic" setup. We were told in social media that this set up would allow for daytime and night time shows. It does look great for the Royal Finale, but I have yet to see any "show" any other time of day. At a minimum, they should have set the layout of the nozzles so they could emulate the original plumage. They should have tech, however, to work with what they have to incorporate "dancing waters" with the flow of IS music, day or night. Curbing simulation: I see your point. Space between turnsyle building and fountain: should be cohesive with the rest of the area. With the nighttime spectacular, I don't know if the area would support planters or video screens; but I like that idea. It has to accomodate crowds, but is a giant empty place other wise. It's horrible that the wooden flower carts were removed. Did they turn them into portable bars? I don't know if I agree about the hardscape and landscape around the tower. Kings Dominion has both and it looks spectacular. However, I see your brushed concrete and raise you to stamped concrete. Not with a paver stamp, but a "natural stamp" that has a deep earth tone color with a sheen. Light colors show dirt, see adventure port. Landscape: They could easily put seasonal color in the mulched areas and add color beds between the current mulched beds with shrubs (this is a nice nod to the original shrub design) This would allow for Snowflake Lake conversion and beautify the area in the other three seasons of fun. It would also be a nice contrast with the patio seating concrete and grass. Around the base of the tower: Kings Dominion does (did) not have a problem with incorporating the anchors for the lights in spite of the blue spruce and other trees. Appropriate choices can amplify the grandness of the tower. I love your idea of topiaries vs statues. Gas style lamps: these could be placed either close to the buildings or in the seating areas. As you can tell, I really like International Street and the discourse surrounding it. Thank you for the engagement!
