  1. If they do reintroduce it at Kings Island, I hope they have more safeguards in place than they did in 1983.
  2. They have said they are going to exercise the option to buy the investors of OG when the options come due, which is sometimes in the next few years. I can't remember specifically, but to do that, it was hundreds of millions. Texas options come open a few years after that. Also hundreds of millions. If they can't manage to clean a park or have consistent entertainment, how would they have the money to invest in this? Borrow more? Given the tenuous situation they are in now, would lenders be willing to do so? I also remember when Saleem caused the spiral into chaos, there was discussion of a land sale of all of the LSF parks with a leaseback. This rarely works and is often a sign of desperation for a company...see Frisch's.
  3. Do you have a fence fetish?
  4. In my memory, Cedar Fair always extended the deadline.
  5. Do you think they really care? They have your money. I'm sure there is verbiage in the terms and conditions that allow for "availability" of spots. Poor Saleem. He wanted Six Flags to be the Target of the industry, not the Walmart. Now, we have sunk below Walmart, Dollar General. We are that Mennonite store that sells expired rejects from the Amazon return pallets after they've been crushed and excreted on.
  6. Sorry, I said Safari Village instead of Adventure Village. This ties back to the historical roots of the area, and could tie into Adventure Port as well, with Port being a portal into Village. The Bat would need no change. If they can swap Banshee into Superman or Batman as some are suggesting, a theme could easily put Banshee into the theme...AE is right next door, so tie into that. Chicken shack could be reskinned readily. New hardware would be needed of course, but a multi year project would be feasible. I think the parallel with KD would be a great feature, especially if KD or KI are sold off to a different operator. They could even incorporate the area after the KIT plaza to make it coherent. If an Oktoberfest is really needed, take the path from The German Building and theme it up. You have FestHaus already, and Viking Fury. Vikings are German, right? ;). Bring the Flying Dutchman from SFA, put in a maypole and have yodeling contests, another bar, and mini cows on occasion with those Bavarian bells. Bada boom bada bing.
  7. ^Needs to be redone to Safari Village.
  8. Yikes ...two industry experts are giving a very frank opinion: What’s next for Six Flags? Cedar Point parent faces park sell-off, possible bankruptcy - cleveland.com https://share.google/pcBea8M1gcQqXNvRT
  9. My question with Rick is: does he consult for Sally on a project such as this? I'd love to think that he is involved with the project. It would really suck of they picked his brain for ideas, shelved the redo until "later" and then just gave the ideas to Sally. But I don't know how all of this stuff works.
  10. Yes, but my way of thinking was Azrael because easter eggs are always fun. Both start with"A" and both Maestro and Gargamel can be intimidating to little kids, so the cat can soften this up for them. I never rode the OG PT, so my only relation to the cat is from PTE when the audio was in the preshow music, and Houdilini pulled out the cat skeleton from the hat( at least I think it was a cat)
  11. Stock had another banner day: down to $22.69 today.
  12. I wonder if Maestro's cat, Arpeggio, is an easter egg to Gargamel's cat, Azreal?
  13. I vaguely remember Huckleberry, but most of my younger years it was a Smurf Cone. As an adult, it's simply Blue Ice Cream.
  14. Let's stir the pot a little: Looks like it cryptically is saying: watch out for #7. What is #7? If "#5 is alive!" could SOB be #5. The next roller coaster after SOB was the Junkyard Coaster. So naturally that would be #6. What's next? Firehawk as #7. New style Vekoma flying coaster called SOB built out of the SOB station outward, coming out over extreme sky flyer and taking up the removed Timberwolf, Congo Falls and Invertigo plots. New SOB confirmed! Seven is alive!!!! :):):):) Or.....there is a secret coup that will happen and seven references a new owner is coming after Six. Lololol
  15. Was shocked to read, although it's not new news, the enterprise valuation of the company on 7-1-2024 was approximately 9.1 billion dollars. At the close of market today, the valuation of the company is approximately 5.2 billion dollars. But of course it's the challenging weather in key markets...which the merger was touted as a way to temper weather issues across the portfolio. If were an investment group for, say, one of the teachers retirement funds that owns this stock, I would not be happy, nor would retirees who's retirement checks could be at risk in some form. Will it recover? Probably over time.
  16. Don't forget about the investment in two KI original signature rides: The Racer and The Beast.
  17. I am utterly shocked!
  18. Be careful! Your bosses at KI may not take kindly of you giving clues on how to open the curtain to shed light on what information could be coming
  19. But you can literally stow your carryons in the floor of The Bat and Junkyard Coaster. Or at least when I was there last year you could. Why would they the put lockers there?
  20. Really great teaser they released! In reflection, I see the obvious reference to the queue music, the cartoon Maestro, and the cat. The video also focuses in on a BB cutout that says something to the effect of "not dead yet." The radio static reminds me of Mystic Timbers. Any significance with the wind chimes in the transition scene?
  21. Money talks!
  22. I don't either, but with this leadership, nothing is off the table. If they were looking to shed many of the underperforming parks, a major park like Kings Island could be the crown with minor parks like WOF, St. Louis, etc. That would fetch a pretty penny. However, Six Flags would loose a ton of recurring revenue for years down the road. Since the merger, though, it appears they only are focused on the here and now and will not look at long term impacts . Of course, I say this as a casual observer. I don't believe they would jettison one of their stalwart parks.
