  1. I understand why CP would do that, but KK is 60 acres and CP is 350 acres. It will probably all make sense when they renovate the front if the park, looks like there is going to be lots of space opening up there.
  2. I don't understand why the are adding another one of these. They have a frog hopper in King Louie's Playground. Why didn't they just move it over to the new section?
  3. They still have lights on trees by The Racer, half a tree near Mystic Timbers plaza, and it appears various bushes. The Coney Elf Village LED tree is still it, but that's usually one of the last visible items to go.
  4. Exactly. At that point they would have to make a decision based on rational thought...which seems to be absent in New Six Flags. FoF is an anchor in Area 72, one could argue that it the entire reason is what it is today. My point was that it's alot easier to take out SlingShot than a huge ride like FoF. Unless it has major expensive upgrades to continue to operate, it should have several more years left in it. Kings Dominion's version is apparently being painted ( exterior) so they'd want a few years left on it as well to maximize the benefit. I've been wrong before, though. I would not have expected Kingda Ka to get removed. I would not expected Anaconda or Drop Tower to get removed either. I think it's a travesty that these rides were removed without proper send offs. SlingShot is the only ride that I can think of at Kings Island that was removed silently, if I am remembering correctly.
  5. Huge difference in Slingshot and a rollercoaster, however.
  6. Hawaiian Coasters 325 shoots and scores with the John Mattress reference!!!!
  7. I'm still surprised that shooting rides are designed for children in light of gun violence.
  8. That looks much better than the built version. Lots of overbanking. Do you know why they modified from this design, @gforce1994?
  9. Of course it's fake! Six Flags makes changes and doesn't inform anyone. This skillfully crafted meme does the complete opposite! Thanks for the chuckle, @Tr0y
  10. I think the coaster itself would be fun, but I'd worry about capacity. Also, no bright lighting package there. I think a better spot would be at the front of the park where Invertigo is. Hangtime replaced a boomerang.
  11. It did! Thank you. Just devasting news recently. I appreciate your perspective.
  12. @DonHelbig...in light of WinterFest being canceled at Kings Dominion: if you worked there, how would you respond to media inquiries and customer complaints on social media about this?
  13. It seemed that they were going to invest in Kings Dominion for the long term and elevate it back to a top tier park. That now seems to not be the case. Is it the new world's of fun?
  14. You seem bitter
  15. Extensive events lineup slated for Kings Dominion’s Golden Anniversary in 2025 « Amusement Today Everything but Winterfest is listed here.
  16. I'd guess this is one or both shoppes at the front gate. If they are spending almost half a million dollars, it sounds like significant reno. Truthfully, they need to so this to Germany and Italy. Switzerland has been redone with Grain and Grill and Starbux, Spain has been redone with Sweet Spot, France had a light remodel with The French (Cajun) Corner Bar and Bistro and Worlds Greatest Funnel Cakes.
  17. Which Hershey co sponsors Snowflake Lake with Kroger?
  18. My theory is that maybe they wanted to try it at Kings Island and see the reaction. Then move it to the other parks. But Paramount happened. As for the present, it's an IP that Six Flags owns. Ki has the nostalgia factor that other parks don't, but if it were put in, I'm sure people would love it. Remember, when Phantom Theater was put in, it was replacing two rides that generations grew up with. So it has to overcome those nostalgia pieces. It's still beloved by many this day. I'm sure it would repeat at other parks.
  19. Another laid-off employee who asked to remain anonymous said they believed the layoffs were company wide and impacted closer to 80 Kings Dominion workers. "We were called to be in a meeting that would take place five minutes later. We were given a brief speech about how appreciated we were and then handed our papers. We were told to turn in our badges and collect our items," that worker shared. "As we collected our items and ourselves, mangers remained in the room reminding us we had to leave and could not take long. It was very emotional for everyone involved but the lack of empathy from management was the worst. They knew about this decision at least a week prior and still decided to blindside everyone." Kings Dominion layoffs: 'This has caused panic'
  20. The way the company is going, might as well put a Spirit Halloween ad on too!
