  1. whats the big deal... the kid is just trying to show us all another arial photo of the park give him a break.
  2. Hate to break it to you but Hablo is right.... They are gone
  3. FYI there is another job fair on Feb 29 from 10-4. I would strongly suggest getting there early as the wait can become quite long. Your best bet is to fill out an application online so that you dont have to waste your time filling it out when you get there.
  4. Are you kidding me?
  5. I can 100% guarantee that the floats are not driven by computers.
  6. Yes the park should get another area and I have a pretty good idea of where it could go, although it would involve some land leveling if PKI plans on keeping its park flat for the most part.
  7. Actually this happens more often than you might think. Especially on the 44'' height required rides. Our associates constantly get hassled for doing their job and looking out for the safety of each and every guest no matter what the age.
  8. Actually Congo Falls is strategically placed. On hot days in the summer, people in AZ dont want to walk all the way across the park and then have to have to wait in line for WWC if they want to cool off. Putting all the water rides in one area(Rivertown) is not good planning. Thats like saying hey lets put all of the coasters in one area and all the food stands in one area. You need to diversify the park so that each area has a little bit of everything in it, or close to it so that it may be accessible. When you do this you get a larger crowd in each area because there are multiple rides that a larger age group can ride. Perfect example is Old Coney. The only thing that they dont have is a water ride, other than that they have a little bit of everything. They have coasters, flat rides, and a good variety of food and games. If all the areas at PKI were like this, each area would have an increase in attendance rather than tons of people just flocking to a particular area all the time.
  9. Perhaps the park does not believe it has enough themed rides to open another part of the budget for just theming. However I do agree with you that it would be wise to open such an account and include theming as a part of the yearly budget. They could even go as far as having a department (Theming Department) which focuses mainly on the theming and making sure that all the rides with theming (AE, TG, FOF, TRTR, and IJST) stay current and up to date. This does not have to just focus on rides. They could make sure that rivertown still has the atmosphere that it has now, as well as other areas of the park.
  10. SNIP Yep. It's official. Your an idiot. Lol
  11. Your numbers on AE are almost 100% accurate. They put about 34 cycles out an hour. No one else is going to know more about that ride on here than me...trust me.
  12. ok maybe lazy was the wrong word to use. maybe I should have used the term "not a priority."
  13. So if your not going to base a ride's popularity on capacity, then what are you going to base it on?
  14. Ok first off your messing with the wrong crowd(the Arrow Crew[because we're *****IN]) here to say this. Like most peple on here have already said and I will tell you once again because maybe it didn't sink in. AE is the most popular coaster in the park based on capacity. Im pretty sure that Vortex comes in a close second because they run 3 trains for close to 95% of the season. I think Derek can back me up on this one. As for TG, one of the best suspended steel coasters ever. Yes its short, but the longer the ride, the longer the wait will be to ride it. They bust out 30+ trains an hour down there which is almost unheard of for a coaster with 2 trains. The same with AE even with 2 trains they average about 35 trains an hour. Multiply that by 30 and you have a a lot of people in one hour. In the summer when the ride has 3 trains they are pushing out an average of 45 trains an hour. Maybe this is why you think that AE and TG are so unpopular because their lines are so short. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the reason is not because that they are unpopular, but that they are so fast paced that they can get you on the ride in less than 20 mins even with a line going out the entrance(AE). So before you start saying that AE and TG are "not guest favorites" then maybe you should sit in one or both of those stations on BAFFD and tell me that neither one of those rides is a "guest favorite," after seeing 10,000+ riders on both. Those two rides can take on any other ride in the park and crush it in capacity. Consider yourself lucky that Drew didn't see this post or he would have gone off about this comment more than I did.
  15. The worst rumor that I had ever heard was that Disney was going to buy the park.
  16. Yes it is true. The curse of the "new ride" will attack IJST just like it attacked Delirium and TRTR and SOB. I would go on naming rides but I dont have enough time to list all of them. While the top speed is not suppossed to exceed 40 mph which would rank it up there just above AE in the high speed category. As for theming, when it all works it will be a sight to see. But if PKI keeps with tradition the theming will go to hell after the first couple months of operation because the maintenance personel will get lazy and not want to keep fixing it even though it may be a vital part of the ride.
  17. I can't believe that I am actually getting in the middle of this. The reason that people visit amusement parks is so for that one day they get to forget about the craziness and horror that seems to be widespread across the world. For those 1,3,5, or 12 hours the only thing they have to think about is stuff like "Should I ride Son of Beast or or Face Off next." The employees are out there entertaining, making sure each person has a good time and leaves that world that waits for them on the other side of the perimiter fence when the park closes or when they choose to leave. The park(s) can be seen as a temporary fantasy world where for the short time they escape the kaios and for a short split second the world seems perfect.
  18. Yes thats right the day that most people have been looking forward to happened on Wednesday. They started testing out the graphics on the new sign. Hopefully this will mean that it will be operating this weekend. Try to drive by and see the new screen, it looks really cool.
  19. Funnel Cakes are always a classic. But find me another amusement park where you can enjoy a steaming hot plate of Skyline Chili.
  20. I'll agree with Hablo on this one the only area for it to fit in is Coney and the Eurobungee area seems to be the best bet...if that happens
  21. Yes the day has finally arrived. They were putting up the paramount sign today. All that seems to be left is testing out the new screen. Should be operating by Saturday when we reopen to the public and season pass holders
  22. As of Monday afternoon the clock is still in it respectable location. Come November 8 will it still be there? We shall have to wait and find out
  23. Ok just to clear up the confusion and to set everything straight. FOF does not launch at the same speed every single cycle. Anyone who is a driver there or has spent lots of time there knows what I m talking about. No coaster ever consistently launches you at the same speed. As much as I hate to do it, take TTD for example. It does not always lunch you at exactly 120mph. I know I have seen trains launched at 125+. So don't sit hear and tell me that FOF laucnches every train at 54mph cause it simply is not true.
  24. Adventure Express is not supposed to be smooth. You are on a runaway mine cart. Haven't you ever seen indiana jones, and the mine cart chase seen. Do you think they had a smooth ride? Once again I am going to have to agree with Drew about the beloved Express, but I can also see where Sparky is coming from also. Yes Express is a very smooth ride, but at the same time it is suppossed to have that out of control feeling that Mine Train Coasters are suppossed to have. It does toss you around a lot yes but most of it is predictable because you can see it coming with the exception of the sharp turn in the volcano tunnel. I hate to bring it up but look at Disney's Big Thunder Mountain. This ride also has that runaway feeling, however it doesn't toss you around as much making it much more tame. This is why AE is so unique because it applies this out of control feeling along with what feels like a rough ride, but in reality it is a smooth ride with a great track layout. Its Good to be back.
  25. Im sorry that you feel the way that you do about the newest ride, I believe it was a great investment and definately a keeper. However, just to let you know, Ohio law prohibits any "swinging" ride such as Delirium and Swinging Ships from performing a complete loop. So it really couldn't happen anywhere at any park in the state of Ohio.
