Was at the park today and was underwhelmed by the fountains. Seems like a downgrade marketed to be an upgrade. The old fountains had much more of a "grand" look. These seem weak to me. On a positive note, I do like how they extended the platform out towards the fountains and I do like the new pavers and open look. Just wished they would've left the fountains alone.

Anyone think the structure being built is part of the plan to move one or all of the maintenance sheds to expand X-Base?

That still doesn't look like nearly enough space for a giga. Definitely looks like the perfect size for a huge wing coaster, though.

I agree. That clearing looks more like an expansion of some kind to me. The new maintenance buildings may be moved there to make room for a whole new area where the current maintenance buildings sit. That would free up the big area adjacent to x-base.

If the lift hill approaches the Little Miami, that clearing makes sense because that would probably be the area for the drop and sharp turn to the left towards all of that open space behind Banshee, or it could be for more storage buildings. I guess we'll see.

That appears to be new clearing. If you look closely, it looks like they took it past the brown terrain and cleared more to the left.

There looks to be clearing all the way back behind Firehawk towards the Little Miami in October. On Google Earth, if you click on 3-18 there is nothing cleared, but once you drag the arrow forward to 10-18, there is significant clearing. Just happened to see this. Could be nothing, but looks to be something to me.

I agree. If the notice of commencement was for the construction to just begin in 2020 and not be completed, they would probably have to file for 2021 as well because construction would continue on into the first 4 months of that year.

Judging by Google Earth, quite a bit would still need to be cleared to reach SOB's former area. After that, it's wide open.

True, but I think a path of land would need to be cleared to reach that area, which could easily be done rather quickly.

I'm simply saying that if it's going to be a Giga, there would have to be a path of land cleared out extending in some direction from the FH area just to make room for lift hill. It's still way early though. Just making observation.

Yeah, it may or may not be, but I believe if this is a giga, they will use the land behind Banshee for a large portion of the ride due to minimal excavating needed because of how open it already is.

The smaller dirt piles looks like fresh dirt by what looks to be from of an auger drilling bit. It was parked closer to Banshee a couple of days ago where the road turns towards AE.

Also, The Vortex being the highest roller coaster in the world when it opened and having most inversions. FOF being first indoor LIM launch, and of course SOB.

I have to say, this looks like it is being done right. Love the pond, covered bridge and billboards with lighting. Will probably look amazing.

It'll either be tomorrow, or hopefully for the official 10/28/ funeral (if there is one) . I remember CP dropped RMC hints at their Mean Streak funeral.
