Starting to Decode 2014
there just isn't enough land to build a good invert where thunder alley and king cobra were. Raptor, montu, etc, all take up way more space. it would not use the SOB land because it would have to drop down into that valley and inverts are never designed to go that far out and back.

although i'd rather see a giga, i wouldn't mind a dive or invert, as long as they are record breakers in almost every category.

They could still get a bargain and order multiple different coasters and get a better price from B&M. I'm sure B&M would be happy to get multiple orders for all or any one of their coasters.

Odds are is that Screamscape's "source" is this site. They probably saw the pics from the B&M plant and found out that was wing coaster track and tadaaaaaaa, Screamscape has confirmation that it is a B&M wing coaster. Let's keep in mind that Cedar Point just built a WC. why would Cedar Point want to have the same kind of coaster in the same state? Also, coaster construction on Gatekeeper didn't break ground till october. This probable coaster broke ground in Feb., or March and it is in a way bigger area than a wing coaster usually takes up. The logic for a wing rider going in next year at KI just isn't there.

Comparing these pieces of track to that of Gatekeeper, the size in the picture above is different from Gatekeeper. Counting the holes, that are used for bolting the pieces together, on the sides of the track (Not counting the top and bottom rows) there are three holes. Looking at Gatekeeper's track, there are 4 holes on the sides (again not counting the Top and Bottom Rows). Aside from Mr. Ouimet's statement about no wing riders next year (I can't remember the exact time frame he said), I'd say based on the difference in track, we can assume for sure that the coaster above is not Wing rider track. ^^ My photo from a Gatekeeper construction tour. what about dive coaster track?

Starting to Decode 2014
I have to control myself from getting too excited because I know they may not be for us! I wish there was a way to know I think that is a lot of supports for the small amount of footers the KI has for the new project. This does look like a wing or dive coaster to me. I know Cedar Fair's CEO said none of the Cedar Fair parks are getting a wing coaster next year. therefore, this could be for a six flags park, etc. also, Gatekeeper didn't start construction till early fall. giga's and hypers always seem to start way earlier. I'm clueless as to what it is too. i wish i knew!

Don keeps posting "dive" teasers on twitter though. A DIVEersion?! HMMM...I also don't think a dive coaster would start construction this early. They are shorter in length and don't take as long to build as hyper's and giga's. Gatekeeper didn't start till much later.

Nice investigating kblanken!

Starting to Decode 2014
maybe "x-works" is a designation for all Cedar Fair parks only.
-
Starting to Decode 2014
are there pictures?? yes i took pics. having trouble uploading them from iPhoto. any suggestion?

Starting to Decode 2014
"X-Works" is the customer code on all of their track now. It is not a designation for KI. Not true. I looked at another piece of painted track that was there and it said "wing coaster "next to customer. not "x-works"

i hope Man, if I had a dollar for every time "X-Works" gets brought up when a new B&M is being built, I'd have several dollars. I hope it's not a dive coaster.

Starting to Decode 2014
I think it is a dive coaster. Don has posted a "dive" teaser twice so far on twitter. I drove by the batavia plant today and the forest green parts say "x-works" for the customer on the sticker that is on the bottom of the supports. There were some very big pieces of track on the side that were not painted yet and the sticker also had "x-works" on it. that confirms that this track matches the supports. i remember looking at the Diamondback supports at the plant and they also had x-works as the customer on the sticker. Other track pieces to other parks say something other than "x-works". The track that i saw was also significantly bigger than a hyper or giga coaster.

Early Signs of 2014 Expansion?
Oh....i did not know that.

Early Signs of 2014 Expansion?
It looks like they kept the SOB station. why would they keep it if they weren't going to use it? if this is a coaster, that will probably be the station. I just can't figure why else they would keep it.

Early Signs of 2014 Expansion?
It is not a random meaningless number at all, it is in fact the Millennium number. Wikipedia has Millenium at 310'
-
Early Signs of 2014 Expansion?
So? What do you think? Teaser?
-
Early Signs of 2014 Expansion?
MF is 310'Leviathan is 306'. there is no other coaster that is 308'....yet. the significance is that they had multiple tweets right before that asking if they were going to have teasers for next year, then the next tweet was 308.

Early Signs of 2014 Expansion?
go to KI twitter and then go to Jan. 23. read the tweets right before it too. the guy is asking KI is they will put up teasers and they respond by saying "sometimes in the winter, sometimes never...." then the next tweet is the "308"

Early Signs of 2014 Expansion?
I went to KI today and saw the fence with the teaser signs and peaked through and i could clearly see footers being poured where thunder alley used to be. After going on the Eiffel Tower to confirm this, i also realized that this will probably be the station area of what will probably be a new coaster for next year. Kings Island tweeted a teaser a couple of months ago that read "308". I have a feeling that this will be another Leviathan type coaster that will only be better.
