Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
Does anyone think KI will drop a small 2020 hint tomorrow at the announcement?

Kings Island Confirms removal of Coaster
Yeah, I highly doubt it's Vortex. I guess we'll find out Friday.

Kings Island Confirms removal of Coaster
What worries me is that Firehawk sits on a relatively flat piece of land that a dive coaster would fit perfectly on.

Kings Island Confirms removal of Coaster
This seems to be the trend with Cedar Fair lately. Replace (or convert) a maintenance nightmare and/or unpopular coaster with something much better: Mean Streak with Steel Vengeance, Hurler with Twisted Timbers, and now (hopefully) Firehawk with B&M giga. I just hope it's not a dive coaster, though. 3 dive coasters in 4 years just seems lame to me.

Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
I hope FH stays. The 11 chairs tells me it's probably FH, though. Not happy

Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
Firehawk makes more sense because that is where the alleged 2020 coaster is probably going to go. It leaves that whole area towards DA and back behind Banshee open to go wherever. Just hope they don't use Firehawk's blah station.

Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
They just repaired a lot of footers on Vortex and got a new sign. Plus, it's one of the last great Arrow loopers left standing and a classic. Doubt it.

Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
Hmmmmmmm.........bet you Cedar Point's next coaster is a B&M flyer.

Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
Hopefully, this isn't true. Firehawk is a unique ride. Taking it out would take away from KI's diverse coaster lineup. KI is blessed with so much land to expand. I disagree with tearing any coaster down at KI to build another coaster unless absolutely necessary, especially when CP is landlocked and still finds ways to keep their existing coasters when building new ones.

Cedar Fair Posters with Easter Eggs
Let's look at the facts: 1. "Giga" shoveled in snow and re-shoveled in employee-only area and left there long after park closes for the Winterfest season and remained until snow melted. Being left there and re-shoveled is a key point here. 2. Posters allegedly appearing at CP seemingly linking AE (a mine ride), SOB and RMC via CP Mining Company by referencing Outpost 5. AE is located adjacent to former SOB site. Also, site # that they reference in poster is the day SOB closed if you reverse it. 3. SOB signs such as barrels, etc. showing up at MT and Beast rides the last year or so and at Haunt. 4. Wood and flowers at SOB memorial appear. Whether they were put there by employees or whomever, once again, key point being, that they have been left there. 5. Other possible teaser randomly appearing in Tower Gardens that could be a mining link to the poster at CP, which therefore links itself back to KI. 6. Another alleged poster at CP which links CP and KI by using "Mason and Sandusky since 1993 Oak strong and Iron bound" by showing a barrel with steel wrapped around it. Also possibly linking SOB logo on barrels seen placed around KI lately with RMC and a 1993 reference to the year TOP GUN was opened, which is right next to SOB Outpost 5 station. There is obviously SOMETHING going on. They do leave a lot of ambiguity to increase speculation in some of this. I like how they do that. FUN STUFF, indeed! But the facts I listed above IMO are somewhat straightforward. I'm going to CP this weekend. I'll try to look for alleged posters.

Decoding 2019/2020
I enjoy it also. It is quite creative, but unfortunately it tends to get hopes built up and let downs occur when they don't come true.

Decoding 2019/2020
Just hope KI isn't trolling us. In the Elixir CP poster, it reads " beware of charlatans preying on your local community". This leaves it open that trolling could be occurring just to get people excited and coming back to the park because attendance is down. Hope not, though.

Decoding 2019/2020
Also, that kind of looks like the shed in the Calico poster. Another KI reference, perhaps?

Possible clues for 2019 ?
Anyone notice land clearing by the KI green houses via Banshee webcam? It's probably the dorms.

Possible clues for 2019 ?
CP SOB teaser could be for 2020.

KI lets slip plans for 2019 exist on IG today?
I doubt Vortex is going anywhere anytime soon. They just spent quite a bit of money pouring new footers to fix the old ones and on a new sign. It's also one of the last great Arrow loopers left. It broke all kinds of records when it opened back in the day.

The Giga Speculation Thread
I don't think Canada's Wonderland's attendance jumped a lot after they built Behemoth and Leviathan either, yet they are about to get what looks to be, a huge dive coaster. Don has mentioned on multiple occasions that KI will continue to build world class rides. Just hard to believe KI doesn't get more love from CF top management, considering it is one the top ranked amusement parks in the US.

The Giga Speculation Thread
That is a possibility, but KI has a lot of coasters with inversions, as Knott's does not. Plus, KI just got Banshee somewhat recently, which is why I believe they would want to put something different in. Logic points to a Giga being the next coaster, but, my logic and their ROI could be much different.

The Giga Speculation Thread
Cedar Fair purchased KI in 2006. They have built 4 rollercoasters since then, which is an average of one coaster every three years. If you go by the average, we will be getting another one in 2020. I doubt it will be a family coaster, as we have just gotten MT. A dive doesn't seem likely because of CW most likely receiving one next year, and a Mack doesn't seem likely since Carowinds is rumored to get one next year (unless we get a Mack spinning coaster), so, that leaves an RMC of some kind, an Intamin (which is unlikely), or B&M wing or giga. IMO, those are the most likely to be next.
-
The Giga Speculation Thread
Yeah, makes no sense since KI is one their best parks in terms of attendance. Carowinds is only around 2 million per year in attendance, where KI is well over 3 million. How is KI not mentioned?

The Giga Speculation Thread
Guess ya just couldn't snap a pic or two, could ya?

The Giga Speculation Thread
You need to start taking pics of what you see and post them on here to show us because I have seen nothing of what you have said regarding construction in DA.

The Giga Speculation Thread
I was thinking the same thing. They look old

The Giga Speculation Thread
rode WindSeeker as well today, and saw no retention walls, drainage piping, or clearing. Don't know where people are seeing this.

The Giga Speculation Thread
I wouldn't characterize DB as "floater" airtime coaster. Definitely think it's ejector, just not violent ejector. I also have ridden a handful of Intamin's and I don't think they have near the airtime the B&M's do. At the same time, I think Intamin's are more intense than B&M's in terms of speed and laterals. The most violent ejector airtime that I have experienced to date is Twisted Colossus. That thing hurts when it throws you up. Fun though.
