  1. None of this makes any sense. Cedar Point getting a new ride has nothing to do with Kings Island. Canada's Wonderland got a 25+ million dollar hyper in 2008, and this year they got a new gigacoaster that came with a price tag near 30 million dollars. Like Gordon Bombay said, no 'suits' have talked to you. Actually, the addition not quite South is consuming a large chunk of capitol, leaving not so much dinero por us. You see der point? If you don't see the point, take this example: You have an outdated house, and there's a mighty list of things that need to be done (or want to be done, more accurately). Such things are replacing floors, painting walls, air ducts cleaned, and new appliances and counter tops in the kitchen. You knock off the appliances and counter tops in the kitchen off your list, but you don't have enough money to complete the floors, walls, and air ducts. You have to build up your capitol to make another purchase later. Get it?
  2. ^Ahhh, but what if you're athiest! And if you don't want your "assets" to be hurt, do what I mentioned:
  3. Pepsi and Luminosity isn't a big deal, really. All it is is a light show that has a vague tie-in with Pepsi. Nothing more. "Powered by Pepsi" can easily be changed to be "Powered by Coca-Cola".
  4. Why would Cedar Fair execs give away some of the company's most private information to a complete and utter stranger? It's like if I came to you and asked for your credit card number. Would you give it to me?
  5. I'm a guy, but I LOVED Banshee Mantis! The trick with them is you stand shorter than they are, then stand up to full height after the restraints have locked in. Works like a charm!
  6. At least that mystery would be mine for awhile. (I know, these "puns" have nothing to do with the topic at hand) Anyways, wouldn't it be odd if we got Mystery Mine where Backlot Stunt Coaster is now, and Dollywood got our Backlot Stunt Coaster in the current place of their Mystery Mine (swap the two attractions). That would be one heck of a deal, and it'd almost be worth getting the 'tiques taken out for it. Why did that plan with Gerstlauer fail, anyways?
  7. I would never expect a Verbolten style to come from Cedar Fair. Of course they're FUN, but you can't build SIX of 'em across the chain (much less thi3teen). EDIT: And back to what this thread is about, I would never want anyone to build something by Adventure Express ever again unless they are willing to put in foliage (and don't get me started on Diamondback's pond concrete pool!). IMO, Son of Beast, Drop Tower, and Flight of Fear completely axed Adventure Express' atmosphere, and it always kills me to see those rides when I ride (or marathon) Adventure Express. It's like if Paramount painted the Eiffel Tower neon orange.
  8. What purpose does Kings Island have to compete with parks like Universal or Disney? Completely seperate markets. Also, the concrete in the 2nd tunnel of The Beast sounds like a beast roar, so why play a useless sound that will be drowned out by riders' screams and the roaring of the train in the concrete?
  9. There isn't really a photo ID identified with every single ticket, they'd have to go through Pass Processing to get that. It's just a generic ticket, I can even buy one for you or your friend and it wouldn't raise any eyebrows.
  10. The cost of Flight of Fear was about $15-17 million. Theming, maybe $7 million? 10 for the coaster and research and general construction (give or take a few million). http://www.KICentral.com/attractions/flightfear.php
  11. Your friend can use it as there is no photo or any other form of identification linked to you. So in essence, yes he can use it.
  12. I can't imagine them doing this. This Haunt thing seems to be temporary, so I don't think it'll be on par with Massacre Manor or Slaughter House. Or even Wolf Pack (my favorite Haunt as of last season, actually)
  13. The Beast has friends? ... I'm so jealous! It's good to see that The Beast is internationally known and praised.
  14. ^In regard to Hogwarts, I loved how you know that the castle is relatively small in terms of scale, but you still are tricked into believing it is a full scale replica of Hogwarts, just on a hill (perspective). IoA does an incredible job with everything they do, and I can't believe it took me so long to experience it! I agree with LongliveKingsCobra, the ride and/or area has to make me feel as though I am in that setting, or else it just doesn't work. Flight of Fear does an ok job with the theming, they even have real government equipment (computers, monitors, etc!)! I just wish they cleaned the mirror. A LOT.
  15. If the parking lot is small, why did we have trams before?
  16. Not only is that against park rules, annoying, among others, but also against Ohio state laws.
  17. Not all teens are roudy. I'm a teenager thank you very much, and I go to Kings Island with a well behaved group. We get put into a generalized group with all the rambunctious teens, so they don't notice that we're well behaved.
  18. Really? An inverting Delirium? Unpopular ride through the Congo? Pah! I went on a weekday and it had a line throughout most of the day. And how exactly is a gyro drop, an inverting roller coaster, a swinging roller coaster, and a thrilling pendulum outdated?
  19. This goes under "Online Coaster Enthusiast says the Darnest Things"... I was convinced that Vortex was purple. Flight of Fear's UFO is obviously a full sized UFO. Firehawk's paint looks exactly like it did in 2007! et cetera.
  20. How do the pallettes of beverages get to the park, and how fast? I doubt you could go to your local Sam's and buy up all their pallettes, plus stock room in the back.
  21. Since it would be CCI, I think that Son of Beast would have been a lot more compact and fun. It probably would have been rough, but not too rough? I'm not too familiar with CCI's to be honest. I need to get out more.
  22. I never said The Crypt didn't have its problems. It did. I also never said that we would get an even bigger and thrilling Giant Top Spin in 2015... Everyone knows that's coming in 2016!
  23. Amusement- 1. Islands of Adventure 2. Kings Island 3. Geauga Lake 4. Six Flags Great America/Dollywood/Magic Kingdom. Can't decide. 5. Busch Gardens Williamsburg 6. Busch Gardens Tampa 7. Universal Orlando Waterpark- 1. Soak City 2. Castaway Bay

^I think our "What's Next for Son of Beast" topic should go on for at least a few more thousand posts before a decision is made.
  25. WHAT?! I thought we were getting a gigastratamegahyper coaster next year that launches 20 miles per hour and goes up 17,000 feet in the air! Now I'm dissappointed.
