  1. I am very encouraged that Thunder Run's rehab is progressing so quickly; bring on 2014
  2. Well, I am totally pumped for Banshee; bring on 2014! While walking through the park yesterday, I was picturing how the ride would look from different places in the park (such as the Parking lot, I-Street and Coney) EDIT: I also really like the Banshee's screech; it reminds me of Rodan's screech from the Godzilla movies!
  3. I may be in the minority here, but I like Action Zone just the way it is and don't think it should be re-themed too much. And for me, Banshee just adds to the awesomeness that is my favorite area in the park!
  4. Oh my gosh... this looks awesome and a lot better than I expected... I saw the layout and I'm like... we have a batwing (the pretzel-loopy thing)!!! This is gonna be awesome!!!!
  5. I'm so pumped for 10 PM... Bring. It. On!!!!
  6. I was actually thinking about the possibility of KI adding some carnival-like flats yesterday when I was watching Shake, Rattle and Roll. I think most of the "crazy flat rides" (as I call them) would do well in Coney Mall but I think you might have to coax some people (like me) onto some of the crazier-looking ones. On that note, this might be up for consideration as it could pay tribute to the old Wheel of Fortune ride: .
  7. Thanks Dane , I will definitely be following along Thursday night as I will not be able to make it to the announcement.
  8. I'd like to slightly change my list... (old list is above, new list below; changes are in bold.) 1. Invertigo 2. Flight Deck 3. Racer 4. Flight of Fear 5. Beast 6. Diamondback 7. Adventure Express 8. Firehawk (because my last ride was quite amazing! ) 9. Woodstock 10. Backlot 11. Vortex (because the last two rides have been rough) 12. Flying Ace
  9. Candy: I'm not much of a sweets guy, but I like Smarties, butterscotch Dum-Dums and Cherry (I think this is the right flavor? The wrapper is red. ) Starburst. Dessert: Vanilla Ice Cream from UDF is really good
  10. I've been on both Superman at Six Flags Great America (B&M Flying) and Firehawk (Flying Dutchman) at KI. I don't know that I can accurately compare one to the other (as I rode Superman 5 years ago (can't believe it's been that long!) and I rode Firehawk almost two weeks ago), but I will say they are both unique in their own ways (that being said, I don't know that I have a favorite between the 2). I will say, however, that Superman's pretzel loop reminded me of Firehawk's vertical loop.
  11. I know we have Firehawk, but I think it would be really cool if we got something like this! If so (theoretically speaking), I wonder how a new flying coaster would affect Firehawk's popularity/ridership. 4 more days!
  12. Hey all, here's my $.02 on the new coaster: What I'd like to see: Floorless, launched or even a Euro-Fighter What the coaster type will probably end up being: Invert or Giga (though I really wouldn't mind an Intamin Giga). ...but I'll be happy with most anything we end up getting. In other news, the announcement is in 7 days!
  13. I do wear a fanny pack to the park and used to wear it with me on rides, but nowadays I keep it in a locker once I get to the park.
  14. If it wasn't for Kings Island, I don't think we'd have Outlaw Run and similar coasters. I say this because maybe Son of Beast's loop influenced Rocky Mountain Coasters to try other inversions on wooden or hybrid wood/steel coasters.
  15. So excited; saw this on the 2014 thread and checked out the tweet to confirm! This is gonna be awesome!
  16. Personally, I think the trail itself is really cool and is a unique attraction. If it did go, I'd probably miss it some, but I think I'd like the replacement as well.
  17. I'd move Viper from Six Flags Great America here and put it on the land behind the Crypt's old building (basically sandwiched between The Beast and Diamondback).
  18. I picked Invertigo because it's awesome! But seriously, though, it's my favorite coaster in the park because of the steep drop and the high speed at which it goes through the course. However, I only try to ride in the front or back because I think it's very awkward looking at someone the entire ride.
  19. This happened to me on the Blue Racer when I went Tuesday. Somewhere between the first drop and the turnaround hill, my lap bar clicked once more and it held my right leg in really tightly (which was somewhat painful). And to answer the question of what I won't ride? I'll ride anything.
  20. Of all the choices listed, I chose Son of Beast. When it was first opened, it was (in my mind) epic and was one of my favorites. While The Beast was, is and always will be a classic, I thought Son of Beast was (with the loop) a better ride. Another wooden coaster that stands out to me is Viper at Six Flags Great America. I rode it twice when I went in 2008 and loved it because it had so much airtime.
  21. I was just wondering what dinosaur of a camera took this picture. Please for the love of GOD, if you want to share a picture make sure people can make out what is in it. At least these were not as bad as http://www.flickr.com/photos/95776358@N02/9353295890/ It was probably taken with MDMC01's non-smartphone camera. He wanted me to post them here, since no one else had posted any after last night's hysteria. Yes, it was taken with the camera on my phone (which is not a smartphone, but a Juke). I apologize that it's not better quality. I do know that some of my pictures turn out better than others. And also, on another note, I also thought these green circular tubes were supports (I even noticed that Invertigo and Firehawk had similar supports) but from what I'm gathering from reading this thread, it turns out they were just PVC pipes.
  22. What's funny about this is that I was just drinking some apple juice a few minutes ago!
  23. Welcome to KIC, MidnightBeast. I'm really glad you enjoyed Adventure Express at night as that's one of my favorite night rides . Also, the Blue side of The Racer always closes during the fireworks, but the Red side does not.
  24. Even though I'm planning on getting a shirt in the near future, I still like this idea. For example, some KIC members (myself included) do not wear a KIC shirt to the park. With a wristband, we can be easily identified even though we are wearing a different shirt. I know many times when I've been to the park, I've looked for KIC members and unless they are wearing their KIC shirt (or unless I've met them before), I don't know if someone is a member. With a wristband, you can tell who's who regardless of the shirt someone is wearing.
  25. I'm in . Like others, I'll most likely be going to church first, but afterwards, I'll be there!
