You Know It's the Off Season When...
You know it's the offseason when you see a bimodal line graph and the shape reminds you of Banshee's batwing (this happened last night, btw)

Ride List for KI
Whenever I first go to the park this season, I plan on at least riding Firehawk and Banshee first (in that order), and then maybe Adventure Express, Delirium, Vortex and then whatever else I feel like riding that day. I'll probably catch some shows as well if they are playing. 15 days!

Coasters you never got the chance to ride.
(in response to UnrealNightmare's Drachen Fire video post) I used to have the VHS that the Drachen Fire POV is from. I also remember it having POV's for Thunderbolt, Steel Phantom, Viper (SFMM), Big Bad Wolf and The Beast's along with some others. There were also 3-D glasses that came with the video... good times!

Next New Ride?
I agree with PyroKinesis; it would be awesome if Kings Island got a SkySwat! Unfortunately, I read somewhere that Catapult is most likely being turned to scrap, so a relocation couldn't be possible. EDIT: Here's the article where I found that information about Catapult most likely getting scrapped: http://sfneonline.org/2013/03/05/six-flags-catapult-removed/

Coasters you never got the chance to ride.
When I first read the name of this topic, two coasters immediately came to mind: Hypersonic XLC and King Cobra (KI). I went to KD once when I was younger in Hypersonic's opening year (I would love to go again), but never got the courage to ride (plus, I was told the line was 4 hours long and it kept breaking down...). I almost got to ride King Cobra, but I was too short

Banshee Countdown Timeline
I know I've shared this story before, but I remember working in Snoopy on announcement day and being so excited about what was to come. Later that night, I checked KI's website for all the info about the new ride and I remember being really excited about the batwing! 21 days!

Banshee Construction Progress
Actually, the name Cyrus could work. Prytania is a cool name too. Or Debbie (get the reference?).

KI Hours
(in response to APE's and calakapepe's posts about some parks not closing ride lines early) I totally agree! I remember the last time I went to Cedar Point, my group and I were walking to the front gate the park (thinking that rides were shutting down for the night) and then I saw that Raptor's line was still open; my friend and I got a quick night ride on Raptor before we left.

Banshee Construction Progress
I was just driving on the road about 15 minutes ago and out of the corner of my eye I saw Banshee going through the dive loop (don't worry, I was being a safe driver!). It was beautiful!!! Also, Skyflier looks like it's almost done being re-painted; there's just one spot on the top of the arch that still needs new paint.

2014 Park Map
I really like/appreciate that Timberwolf Amphitheater is labeled on the map as it hasn't been named on the map in recent years.

Something new besides Banshee for 2014?
Just watched the video and this looks pretty cool. I might just have to check this out when I'm in the park

Columbus Concert Trip
(In response to Oldiesmann) Awesome! I love "Fire and Fury"

Something new besides Banshee for 2014?
When I saw the announcement on Twitter, I first thought Flying Eagles, but then I realized it said "attraction" and my mind immediately jumped to the idea of bringing the rock climbing wall back as it could fit in the Action Zone circle. I know the knowledge of footers on the site may not support this theory (pun intended), but it would still be a cool idea.

Columbus Concert Trip
Thanks for the trip report; sounds like you had a good time. Did Skillet play much of their new stuff from Rise?
-
Action Zone Circle
True, I just thought about that... the "riser" would fit inside the circle, but the arms (with seats) would be too long.
-
Action Zone Circle
I know this (probably) would never happen, but I'd love to see a ride like this in the Action Zone circle: http://www.thorpepark.com/rides/slammer.aspx EDIT: Link corrected

KI Favorite (non-ride) Sentimental Memory
I just thought of another great (mostly) non-ride related memory at Kings Island. A few years ago on Mother's Day, my cousin and I were dropped off at Kings Island and it poured down rain almost the entire day. We made the best of it, and had a blast. Specifically, I remember riding Diamondback in the rain (this is the first of two times this has occurred) and riding Woodstock's Whirlybirds and laughing our butts off.

2014 Park Map
The "g" actually looks similar to Disney's font, and I just noticed the "c" looks a bit different from the other letters as well. Maybe it's just the font they chose...
-
In-House Television Network
I actually liked QTV, but this sounds like it could be pretty cool -MDMC, who still remembers watching that Chaka Khan cat video while waiting in line for a ride

Action Zone Re-theming for 2014
I agree Jcgoble... I am so ready for warmer weather! Saturday's weather (in the 40's/50's) was great; I just wish it would have stuck around...
-
Action Zone Circle
I agree with Devarious about having a DJ in Action Zone. On Opening Day and the one night I went to Haunt last season, I loved hearing the great music!
-
KI Favorite (non-ride) Sentimental Memory
When I was little and didn't ride much, I loved to watch Vortex's train go through the boomerang. I seriously thought that was the coolest thing ever.

The official "Bring the Flying Eagles home" thread.
Yes, Stricker's Grove is great; went for the first time last year and had a blast! If you'd like, you can check out my Trip Report from last year. Be sure to ride the Electric Rainbow (Round-Up) if you've never been on one of those types of rides before; it was fun!

You Know It's the Off Season When...
You know it's the off-season when you build Slingshot (the ball/cage and the operator's platform) with little building blocks and then imitate the ride cycle with said blocks For the record, this happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Banshee Construction Progress
(responding to Gplez's post with the picture of the new Backlot cars) Personally, I think those new cars look awesome and although it's not my favorite KI coaster, I'd be more inclined to give it another whirl if those new cars are in fact going to KI
