Banshee Construction Progress
^^ End of the week?! I was thinking Wednesday, if not tomorrow!

Banshee Construction Progress
Thought I should add my lonely three pictures from yesterday. First, a view similar to the webcam: A view walking down Coney. I really like the trees in this one; they really add to the photo. And, finally, my personal favorite. I took this standing by the entrance sign for Congo Falls. It really shows how much the dive loop dominates over the midway.

Flight Deck to become the Bat?
I rode it today and the flight deck tape was indeed removed from the brake run. As for logos on the train, I wasn't really paying attention, but aren't they removed every year? Also of note, the line was the longest I've seen it in a long time. At about 3 it was stretched back to before going down the steps.

^They added two pieces to the exit of the lift loop and another two pieces going up into the top of the dive loop.

Banshee Construction Progress
They added four pieces of track and had multiple deliveries come in as well. Combine that with the rain, and IMO, they made good progress. Also, I don't think the cold affects them, especially when it's still above freezing.

You saw footers? At the Batavia plant? Are they building a coaster of their own?

Banshee Construction Progress
I don't think those are attached to the supports just yet, they've only attached two pieces together.Edit: Maybe they are attached now that I look at it more; it's hard to tell. Regardless, they've added a third piece of track to the other two.

Ummm... Isn't that the same picture he's been using? And if its not, I'm sure he could have changed the picture himself.

Banshee Construction Progress
What are the chances they finish the supports and track for the dive loop tomorrow? I'd really like to see it in person this weekend. But, then again, the last time I was there was KIC day, so I'm looking forward to seeing it anyway.

Oldest Operating Ride at KI
Can't Don weigh in on this?

All time banshee rider?
I am also on mobile and you literally submitted that post as I submitted my edit. Now stop making excuses and read them. They weren't even that long.

All time banshee rider?
Really? They are well written and definitely worth the read. Well spoken you two.

How do you make these pictures? They are very cool and I appreciate them greatly.

If Ouimet was CEO during the Paramount acquisition...
Will you help me get there? I'd gladly go ride Nitro if someone could get me there. SFGA is actually in the top three for parks I want to visit.

If Ouimet was CEO during the Paramount acquisition...
Personally, I have never noticed any "jackhammering" on DB. Smooth ride regardless of the seat. In fact, the back is my favorite.

If Ouimet was CEO during the Paramount acquisition...
^Then we can't have any FUN.

If Ouimet was CEO during the Paramount acquisition...
I'd like to see your attempt at justifying why Diamondback and Intimidator were his biggest mistakes. And, no, "Intamin is better" does not count as a reason. Nor does "B&M sucks".

If Ouimet was CEO during the Paramount acquisition...
I'd love to think through all of those questions, but I can't get my mind past the first one. Would FUN still have acquired Paramount? My gut feeling is no. Which scares me with the thought that my home park would be New Six Flags Ohio.

KI's Skyline
Once Banshee is complete, someone should Photoshop it and WindSeeker into that exact same picture. See who we can fool...

Banshee Construction Progress
This is slightly off-topic, but I know it was being discussed the other day and never saw a definite answer. So, does anyone know the definite height of the actual structure for Slingshot? I'm trying to visualize how high Banshee comes up on the skyline.

The lift does not get much higher from where it is at now. The next track piece goes from up to straight. The one after that (which will connect to the support) will go from straight to down. You can see this if you look at the renderings.

The "Lasso"
The figure 8 loop is an inverting loop stuck on top of a non-inverting loop. I believe this idea is an inverting loop on top of two vertical interlocking corkscrews. RCT's figure 8 loop:

Creepy Abandoned Theme Parks
Here's a list of ten abandoned parks that is quite interesting. Some are well known, but others I had never heard of before. http://www.facts.fm/amusementparks/

Valleyfair - New for 2014
You think you like it? Do you or do you not? Also, I love the look of this addition. It seems perfect fora park like Valleyfair. I find it interesting they are instantly marketing it as a coaster. Cedar Point has made no such confirmation yet. Lastly, I like that ours gets to have a full, unique theme; while these two are just generically themed with the park logo blasted up on to the car.
