  1. Thanks, Terp. rcwizard13, who has to look up an acronym every few days thanks to thedevariouseffect.
  2. I'm pretty confident that the drop is exactly 45 degrees. 30 also sounds pretty good for the lift.
  3. The first two sentences of that last paragraph actually make me quite sad.
  4. I thought that was for the first drop. A 45 degree lift is pretty steep, isn't it?
  5. It took nearly 3 years to build that thing? Was there like only 3 workers a day on it or something?
  6. I remember seeing this blog post. I even remember scrolling through Point Buzz to find an interpretation of it. I wonder if Tony pulled it out of the blue to just move Gatekeeper speculation along or if he knew of Banshee at the time?
  7. It's been effective for me as well. Thanks, Terp! But its not going going to be effective for everyone.
  8. Wow, fantastic essay! It makes me want to write a essay on the same subject, but for Kings Island. However, I want to point out that in the essay you write, "This past year the park also received Golden Ticket Awards for Best Halloween Event and Best Kid’s Area" (2nd paragraph, 4th sentence). This is false. Kings Island has been granted "Best Kid's Area" this past year as well as the 12 years previous. Overall, though, great essay!
  9. ^^ Marking your remains!? ^ He's just trying to poke fun at it. Lighten up.
  10. ^ I think you're taking it to literally. I believe his post was from the viewpoint of actually seeing the actual tombstone marking your actual remains.
  11. I do believe that it is indeed a reference to our very own Interpreter. I remember Don making a comment about it at one time. It might have been during our birthday bash Q&A session in International Restaurant.
  12. Fine. I give up. I know if I were a company Terp's posts would not stop me from coming after KIC. If Dane and Bodda think Terp is being effective, fine. I can't change that. But here's a hint: he's not. Good luck winning in the incredibly low chance that a company comes after KIC. You'll need it.
  13. You guys don't understand where I'm coming from. I understand (as I've already said at least once) that proper trademark use is necessary. So, how do we make sure KIC does not become a victim of some big, powerful company? Well, Terp feels that making reminder posts after every incorrect trademark use is the way to go. However, is this truly effective? In my opinion, no. If a company sees an incorrect use of their trademark on this site, they may think, "I'm going to come after this site." Upon seeing Terp's post, they may think, "Oh look, this guy has it right, but the original poster still has it wrong. I'm still coming after this site." If you want want to ensure the above scenario does not occur, you need to ensure that all improper trademark use on this site is corrected. Terp's posts simply will not do this. You see, I am not challenging whether or not we should worry about copyrights. I am challenging what is the most effective way to protect KIC. In my opinion, a possible solution would be to let Terp be a Mod, so he can correct the improper use. A PM could then also be sent to the original poster to help ensure they don't make the same mistake again. Terp's annoying reminder posts will not protect us.
  14. davidw post the new time-lapse videos every Monday. If he hasn't gotten to it yet, don't worry, he will. They take a lot of time and he does a lot for us- making the time-lapse and the Banshee track completion images. Finally, instead of triple posts, take advantage of the edit button in the bottom right corner of every post you make. Edit: Darn, FoF96" beat me to the triple post.
  15. ^ Same with me. Scooby's Ghoster Coaster was one of my favorite rides, one that I have very vived memories of riding. My brother and I really enjoyed it. I still remember walking into the new Nickelodeon Universe in 2006 and the immense disappointment of Scooby's Ghoster Coaster no longer being there. I actually refused to like and even ride Avatar (now Surf Dog) at first for the sole reason that it took the place of Scooby. And it was only a year after Italian Job took the Antique Cars, which was always a ride my family had to ride together every visit. On the bright side, I do enjoy Backlot Stunt Coaster and Surf Dog, but would absolutely love if their two predecessors could return. More so the Antique Cars than Scooby. Also, speaking of Scooby Doo, I enjoyed Boo Blasters much more when it was still Scooby Doo. I get depressed every time I ride it wishing Scooby Doo could still be there.
  16. My point still stands. If you want every single one of them to post correctly, you need to try harder enforcing it. And also, Terp, what happened to cause this change inside of you? I've been a member of this site since 2010. I've lurked since 2009. Never have I seen you make a post urging proper copyrights until 2 or 3 months ago. What caused this?
  17. Do teens today hate music from the 80's? They don't listen to it, but they don't necessarily hate it. Really, if new artists never came to be, they would probably still like it. I would say the biggest reason they don't like it is because they don't want to listen to the same music as their parents.
  18. You are correct. Terp wouldn't make these posts if people were correct in the first place, but there are 7,00 people here. That will not happen unless you get serious about enforcing it. Terp's posts actually accomplish very little.
  19. I understand it's necessary and all, but wouldn't it be more effective if we developed a warning system ultimately resulting in suspensions from posting or something like that. All Terp making all these posts does is potentially cause the original poster to edit the post and annoy multiple users. I mean this site has 7,000 users! If you seriously think all of Terp's little posts are going to cause proper grammar, you're just fooling yourself. If you want to be serious about people paying attention to grammar and copyrights, then you need to get serious in enforcing it.
  20. It is to me as well. I don't understand why Terp can't just be made Mod so he can fix all the errors himself, rather than wasting 10 posts a day on the exact same matter.
  21. Both links turn up blank for me as well.Edit: The new links below work.
  22. I was looking forward to Media Day and I have some questions for anyone to answer. I was looking into joining GOCC for Media Day, but encountered several different levels of membership. Would the most basic level be accepted for Media Day? Also, what's the difference between single and family? Does family come with more than one card? Could I get more than one person into Media Day on the family level? I know nothing official has been announced yet, but I was getting tired of waiting and thought I'd get some opinions.
  23. ^ Something about this post makes me want to think Don will be announcing Media Day details today.
  24. I know it can be hard, but the biggest thing to remember when your talking about theming at Kings Island is this: Cedar Fair is not Disney.
