  1. The double intamin picture had 3 intamin's in it Great report, I always love to see CP trip Reports!
  2. Sorry to hear you had a bad trip. Its my guess Racer and FOF were busy becasue both those queues shelter you from the rain. And Welcome to KIC!
  3. Here in Indy, from my perspective, I see a KI one almost everyday. (One right near my house) But besides that its mostly Holiday World, although KI seems to get more radio and tv coverage than HW.
  4. I think I may actually try this. I havnt ran a 10k in almost 5 months, so it will be interesting trying to get back in shape, but I think I can do it by then.
  5. So now this topic is from a sign and a challenge, to a ceo debate, back to a sign and a challenge, and now calling others trolls. The Internet is a wierd place.
  6. The vouchers point towards a kids activity. This isnt for the everyday guest.
  7. How did this go from a discussion about a sign and a challenge, to a heated debate over CEO's?

Well, bare with me, this wont be the best TR, its the first one I have done. So today I had about 3 hours of free time in the San Francisco area, and I decided to head on down to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. (It was on the way back to the hotel) I only spent about an hour and a half here, so not much rides. The boardwalk is well, interesting. It is far different from what I have experienced in most midwest parks. Its just a different atmospehere. The first ride I rode was Hurricane, this ride looked small, but wow was it good. It was somewhat smooth, had some airtime, and had one part that I really enjoyed where it went down and twisted very steep, then immediatly went back up. I really liked this ride, and it was definatly worth the $5. Next we headed towards Double Shot. Not much to say about this, just your average launch tower, but this one has a great view of the coast of of the ocean. I got to sit on the outside and it was a great ride. After Double Shot, I headed down towards the Haunted Castle. I had seen the post I believe Shaggy posted about it. From the outside, the ride looks pretty good, but it has terrible capacity. Since the cars stop sometimes and go slow during the ride, they have 7-8 cars running, and only load one at a time. Then the cars hold 4 people, but most went with 2 or less. The cars themselves were very cool. they were two rows, with a very cool bat at the front with light up eyes and lamps that flashed. It was like headlights as you went through the ride. The ride itself was okay, I think that the animatronics were good, but they were badly timed and sometime it would set them up and you knew exactly what was coming. this ride was a long wait and not worth the time. Next I headed over to the Giant Dipper. Wow. This ride, built in 1924, still has that classic feel to it. The start of the ride surprised me, as I thought the short tunnel went straight to the lift hill, instead, you curve around in pitch black before hitting the hill. The restraints barely hold you down, and it was a great ride. I immediatly went for another ride. After that last ride, I went to have one last ride on Logger's revenge. This log flume had a very well themed station with lots of props. (fake saws and ropes and hammers on the wall) It was your typical go up the hill, curve around, and drop flume. The difference with this one is that you get a view of nice houses on one side, a beach and the ocen on the other, and a pier and an amusment park on the third. It really adds to the ride. This was all I had time for, and I left the park after that. Ride Count: Hurricane:1 Giant Dipper: 2 Double Shot: 1 Logger's Revenge: 1 Haunted castle: 1 All in all, it was a good time and I probably should have spent a little more time there. The Cave Train ride looked fun, and so did some of the smaller rides and the mini putt course. I Probably won't be back for a while, but all in all a good trip. ~Dbfan
  12. Its going to be tough getting the on ride photo from Flight of Fear...
  13. I remember seeing it, but never doing it. How much did it cost, and how long was the ride?
  14. 20 seconds? Its not even that. Maybe counting the waiting before the launch and after the break. As for record breaking, I cannot see us with anything record breaking in height or speed. Maybe a new type of ride or an idea never implemented into a ride before, but not record breaking. Cedar Fair has to keep those ideas for their own park.
  15. He was a great guy with an even greater attitude towards life. He will be missed.
  16. Someone should contact the park about this and learn if this is real or not... It is odd to me that all these people who won were KICers..
  17. My favorite one. Wasn't there a loud sound when the trains launched that is no longer there. I could have sworn when I rode this ride years ago there was a loud horn when it launched...
  18. Why would you put your phone and bank cards in the cubbie. You would think they would have pockets...
  19. I want a B&M inverted coaster. I say we will have a new flat by 2011 or 2012, then a new coaster 2014.
  20. I saw this posted on Holiday World's facebook. Kings Island is way above Holiday World in my opinion. Holiday World isnt near the kids park for Kings Island. KI has all there rides located near each other with all matching themes and color. I have not been to SFSL since I was 5, and I dont remember the kids rides that much. As for Cedar Point, my complaint for them is all of their kids rides and areas are all squeezed into small locations, and these locations are far away from each other.
  21. Maybe you have just ridden faster rides since then? I used to think Flight of Fear's launch was really fast, then I rode TTD, now the launch on FOF seems slow to me. Maybe the same happened to you by riding bigger rides.

Found this video today, start at 4:30 to see the lake. Oh, and at 1:59-2:10, there is a model there that is not The Beast, but they say it is from the designers, was this an early concept of the ride?
  23. And it is just me or do those cars seem really small. Im not that tall, but I felt snug in the car. I have friends that are taller and could barely fit.
  24. First thing we are doing is putting Scooby back in.
