I guess we will be getting the Feris Wheel or the Inverter. There aren't too many rides at Geauga lake that would fit in at Kings Island as crowd movers. Villian could, however, be transported since the structure is steel. I couldn't guess where it would go in the park if it were transported.

I expected this was going to happen when Firehawk was first moved. Who wouldn't have suspected this to happen, afterall, we are talking about Cedar Fair. The strange thing that I see is that as soon as Cedar Fair took over GL, they took the perks away from the customers and dropped their halloween event. Hmmmm, what happened at KI.....no more Winterfest, and no more take a friend free days, and guess what, down went sales. Sounds like a pattern to me.

Will buying a 2008 pass now, invalidate my 2007 pass and prevent me from getting into the park for the rest of the season? If so I definitely will wait until november to get my pass.

ah ha, so in order to get CP perks, you must buy the Platinum pass at CP even though it works at all parks.....in the end it appears that CP has more season pass sales than any of your home parks regardless of weither you use them at CP or not. Thats not going to help KI. On paper it wil appear as if season pass sales at KI will be drastically down if you don't buy your passes at home. Smart move to CP's credit. So they can judge each park for closure based on season pass sales, and CP will never be at the bottom of the sales list. Good for Cedar Fair!!

I'd like to see a western themed Breakdance ride in Rivertown at the Three point throw. A Jump 2 and a Barnstormer in the woods behind the railroad station. a Topple tower on the Flight commander platform and a Flying Eagles where the laser tag used to be.

If you concentrate strickly on the Haunts, you can do them all, even on a crowded night. Also, as the season progresses the lines move faster. If you go closer to Halloween, you should be able to hit all attractions.

Topgun is on the list of thrill rides at the Haunt site. I wonder if the Action Zone area is going to be dark for Halloween Haunt? It might be thrilling to ride Drop Zone in complete darkness. My questions are will there be facades outside of the houses (except for Massacre Manor) and will the train be stopping along the route for Tombstone Terrortory? I always thought that a train ride dropping guests off in the picnic grove for a haunted h use would be kind of neat. Guests could walk through a zone behind the meet and greet theater right between the Wild thornberry ride and Reptar.

On two of the Halloween Haunt signs in front of the Paramount theater, it mentions an attraction called Carnevil. What is this about??

Hasn't there always been a pattern, like...one year an adult ride goes in the park, the next year a ride goes into HB/NICK land and the next year waterpark. I think were due for a waterpark upgrade.

The teaser on Canda's Wonderland shows more coaster today....sure looks like Dominator.

Thats what I'm pointing out, on the Haunt site it shows Circus in 3d, but on the ki website, it omits the Circus and adds another attraction called Dead Awakenings. I was unsure if they were dropping one for the other.

The Kings Island website has Dead Awakening as a house, and Circus in 3 d is not on the site, have they decided to drop the clowns or add the Dead? The Halloween Haunt website has the Clowns and leaves out the Dead.

Remind me not to ride any rides in Asia.....apparently maintainence IS and issue there.

If they use best practices to determine if the gold pass works for KI, they may extend gold pass options to be used as park only options at the other parks and perhaps offer a Platinum pass to all parks. They could then drop the max pass. I found the name change to equally as confusing.

Maybe replaced with a larger version.

Apparently they decided to fore-go best practices in order to get as much money as they could as quickly as possible. They had already begun to sell tickets when people heard that certain perks were gone.....oops....add them back because we are losing money....but leave out the parking....oops we're losing money again....add parking but not at all parks....oops we're losing money again.....etc. I, for one, will be waiting for a seasons pass until the pass situation is worked out, and ....everything depends on what the next attraction is going to be. (got my Universal Studios 2 year pass 2 parks, free parking, 10 percent discount on hotel, food and gifts, discounts on Halloween Horror nights... best of all 2 YEARS from sept 30.) I'm covered for next year without KI.

Hey Hauntguy, that was under Paramount, wasn't it?? Maybe Cedar Fair will be different. Also, not to pry, but how did getting family involved with Fearfest cause a problem? If you mean having to be with family when scheduled to work, family ALWAYS comes first in my view.

I think that they should relocate the picnic grove to the right of the main gate in the admin lot and use the picnic grove as area for development. There's lot of in park room there. And they should build the train around the entire park and use it for transportation like at Disney.

Money talks....If Disney bought the parks, it's quite possible to theme each area "mickey free". It would be cool to have a themed park once again.

With Six Flags being the family park that they are, they should have paid all medical costs immediately and given the family whatever they wanted or needed, however it is apparent that since they waited they would rather fight the issue. I hope the family gets every dollar coming to them for pain, suffering and future rehabilitation.

Perhaps since CF wants to keep management, they are only looking for partnership rather than a complete sale. Would Disney or any other corporation actual partner with them?? I think it would be really cool since I believe that Disney would look to diversify each park rather than duplicate attractions, thereby making visits to each park more unique. If I'm not mistaken, executives from Coney Island assisted Disney in the creation of Disneyland, and when Kings Island was built, Disney assisted in the design, and under Paramount, an imagineering executive was hired to design. It seems like CF is already set to perhaps partner with Disney. It would be cool to see "Kings Island -Ohio Adventures" or "Kings Dominion - Virginia Adventures" ETC. The only thing that might be a drawback, is that Disney tends to be precise on their attractions and it might take years for new attractions, but they are usually worth waiting for.

I'm puzzled, it sounds as if cables broke and the car crashed to the ground cutting off her legs, yet I thought the ride used magnetic brakes and the cables wouldn't matter. Can the magnetic brakes fail? Were the cables supposed to be a fail-safe? It's almost as if cables and the breaks failed. I know how the witnesses feel, it is a terrible feeling and my prayers are with the girl. Its absolutely horrible to think about it.

I witnessed the derailment. My friend and I were walking up the ramp for the Grizzly Run observation deck when there was a loud pop like pneumatic air breaks. My friend said "My God it derailed". I looked up and saw the train speeding down the fan tail part of the track backwards and the back car was bouncing all over the place, slamming the track and leaving a trail of smoke. It finally stopped and began to valley forwards. The car was now down in between the track, sideways and as the train went forward into the valley, the car was dragged over the supports one at a time. You could see the riders bouncing and jerking around. We had ridden earlier on the same train and there was an incredible amount of lateral movement. It looked as if the derailment occurred where new track had been replaced. My first thought was the gauge of the track seemed different. Security, station workers and emt were on sight in less than two minutes and should be recognized for their speed in getting to the site. People were immediately evacuated from the station. People really wanted to help but knew that they would be in the way. Within twenty minutes, everyone was evacuated from the train. Thank God no one was seriously hurt.
