no water dip in new coaster?!?
Eh, I don't see it being that big of deal. It doesn't really defeat the purpose of riding, it compliments it. In the case of Diamondback, it would add to it, considering the riders never actually get wet. Then the guests could choose if they want to get wet.

The Official Diamondback Thread
The model was whipped up fairly quickly and that section isn't accurate. Not necessarily CD's fault. Just time's fault.

no water dip in new coaster?!?
^Exactly. (Chase, a fan of one word posts, which, by a turn of events, this post no longer falls in that category.)

My God man, I love your PTRs. I have several questions, but first I will say, nice trip report. It sounds like you had a good time despite your mood paralleling the weather. My questions: do you carry a tripod everywhere? My reason for asking is the long shutter on the carousel. Also what settings (F, shutter, ISO, so on) did you use for the Maverick silhouette? CP is a very photogenic park. Especially Painfu...Mean Streak. It may not be a great ride but it sure looks nice in pictures. Great job Ronny.

no water dip in new coaster?!?
It would be cool if the exit bridge went over the splash down or paralleled it. That would kind of mess up the lake area though.

Kings Island Unveils Its Meanest Ride in 36 Years: Diamondback, The BRADY BUNCH Returns to Kings Island, 2009 Season Passes & More!
That's the idea of most splash downs. They're more for looks, not to actually get the rider wet. I'm really looking forward to this. I love the site, especially the webcam. This is going to be a great season watching this ride be built.

How Old Were You When You First Visited Kings Island?
My first trip was in the 1992-93 range. I was 3. I recall my parents passing me over Top Gun and I was terrified because I thought I would be dropped. Ah, good times, good times. Avatar, that's hilarious!

Something's Brewin' at Kings Island
It'll be interesting to see what happens at Kings Island... where history is made and records are broken. Hmmm....is it possible for Labor Day weekend guests will be allowed to repel down vertical tack for the new 2009 coaster with carabiners?? Now THAT would be an up-close experience!!! That would be a heck of an experience. One I doubt I would partake in.

Another Construction Update 8-1-08
Ravine is a little strong its pretty much a dip. there is not a very big drop, 30-40 feet maybe. Granted, if it was straight down that may be seem significant, but it is rather gradual. It started as a ravine. Now that it's been filled it's more of a ditch.

Fairly Odd Coaster Rename.....
I think you mean a fairy hill. On a serious note, the changes sadden me. It's a classic and shouldn't be changed. The tunnel is no biggie but the hill?

PTR: Chicago/SFGA
Nice trip report Nick. Chicago is a really cool city. Did you get to go to the Barrington area? It's a really nice town. And Dane, can we unblock the C word? It's getting a little silly.

Flight Of Fear
Eh, it depends on which day you ride it. Sometimes all the lights are on sometimes they're all off sometimes there are effect lights on.

New coaster name hints
The western theme is just a guess based on other stuff they've done. It sort of mixes with the Rivertown theme, but a little different. I would hope that they'd keep it "local" if they choose an animal name, and the ones that have been mentioned are intimidating enough! Well keep in mind that CF runs amusement parks, not theme parks so just because a ride is built in a specific section of the park doesn't necessarily mean it will follow that area's theme. CF may run amusement parks but KI is a theme park so a ride built in an area should fit that theme.
