Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
From the looks of things, the queue will cross under the station or track at some point. The gates are on the left (Eiffel Tower) side of the station according to the picture above. Actually it looks like those stairs in the top photo may be for guest entry, or maybe not, but it definitely looks like you'll enter the train from the ET side of the park.

What Ride Did You Ride The Most?
WOW. If I lived closer, and had more off days, or at least my evenings free, I'd be right up there with you guys. I probably only made 13-17 visits this year. Ride warriors you are.

Ahh. Chances are, not many will see the bolts in question on DB in the first place, I was just wondering as far as quality, structural integrity, etc...

What Ride Did You Ride The Most?
Even though my ride count doesn't reflect it, I rode The Beast 22 times this year. Probably the most I've ever ridden it. I can't believe I rode SoB around 15 or so times too. That surprises me.

Photo Trip Report Nov. 2, 2008
How much of his photography skills did your son learn from his dad? That cracked me up when I read it. Glad you had fun with your boys, that's what it's all about.

Beast Getting Redisigned Entrance
^^^So that area will be closed off completely? Interesting. Lots of changes in Rivertown ahead.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
To those in the know: Is the fact that there is rust on the bolts and such a concern for the construction? I realize the footer has been exposed to the elements so does the rust matter? Is there a way to "strip" the rust away? I guess when I think rust, I think it's bad in all cases.

So you enter first, eh? That's what I always do. Good for me, then.

Crowds on Saturdays during the Haunt
After Saturday (I was also present, 11AM-1AM) I have to say I won't ever be going to the Haunt again either. I only made it through two mazes (Death Row and Trail of Terror) before I was done. I'm very easily scared and needless to say I just about died going through those two, although I heard from the other people I was with, who went through all the rest, that the ones I did were the only two ones. But back on topic, I didn't think the lines were too bad until the Haunt started. SOB, Delirium, and Firehawk were walk-ons for a good part of the morning. We didn't get there until around 1 and Firehawk was an hour at about 2:30. Delirium was a one cycle wait and SoB was a walk on but we waited for the front, in the Blue train and I must say, it was pretty smooth. I already know I wouldn't enjoy being scared so I'm glad we left when we did. Halloween > Everything.

Drop off at the park?

Beast Getting Redisigned Entrance
That wouldn't fit The Beast at all. The setting is very rustic, shall we say. I vote for the exact same sign, just in a new location. Definitely, I noticed at one point there were two lights that looked like eyes in the back of the mine shaft. Very nice touch. Nice touch indeed. Wink, wink.... Technically, it does go out...and back, just not in a straight line, eh?

Park On The 1st
^^^ Chins, The lines yesterday were fairly short save for an hour for Firehawk, 45min for FoF, maybe 35-40min for Invertigo, everything else was a walk on. Racer had a healthy line earlier in the day so we didn't ride it plus only one side was running. Firehawk only had the left side of the station open which I'm sure contributed to the longer line. Beast was a walk on at around 1:00 pm, BLSC had about a 20 min wait. Overall we had a great time, had our passes processed for next year (which took about 5 minutes, because I wanted a new picture), and we were gone.

Diamondback Station/Queue Art?
You should have seen the snake over at coney maul the first haunt weekend!! Personally, I am upset with the trees being destroyed, but I understand things must change. I just hope they are replaced elsewhere in the park. Have a look here. If you look closely, you'll be able to tell that some trees will be making a return visit to The Beast's plaza area. After visiting the park on the 1st, I could see KI getting rid of the "Beast Canyon" entrance, and placing a new entrance very near to the ORP stand. It seems very logical to me to redo it that way.

One more to that list. Going up the 2nd lift on The Beast. From that angle, she towers over all. I just tried looking at the webcam, and I couldn't see jack for all the fog. I couldn't even see the track for the splashdown it was that thick. Here's the proof. I just realized you can't really tell that's the splashdown, but trust me it is. I'm glad I left when I did today.

Park On The 1st
Well, I didn't see Jasper, but I did see TOPGUN1993. Sonny was very easy on my body today, thankfully. Good to see you TG93.

What's Up On The Island?
Hey, Just listened to Episode 1. Have a request. Could you cut the music a little sooner so it's not so hard to hear you? That would be awesome. Otherwise, good job. Keep it up. I've subscribed.

Park On The 1st
I'll be there from about 2ish to around 6ish. I'll be wearing a gray Ohio State sweatshirt. I'm 6'5" you can't miss me.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Just to add my two cents about The Beast's entry plaza. From the videos on the Diamondback video page it looks like that island where they just removed the trees, will come back in some capacity. Looking at the video, I wouldn't expect it to change very much from what it was a week ago, aside from an obvious new location for The Beast's sign, new mode of entry to the queue, etc...

Yes, but the belts for said rides were, as relayed to me via these forums, were considerably different in length. I probably could've made it into TTD, but I never got the chance to go back. Next time.

Crowds on Saturdays during the Haunt
That's what I figured, but being the last Saturday, who can tell? We're probably going to leave around 7 since neither of us are terribly interested in partaking in the Haunt.

Favorite ride at kings island
I'm dying over here, iChase. I can't stop laughing. Bravo. You're not alone. I so badly want to clean that bad boy, but then I realize that it would just get messy again. Judging by my ride count for this year, the following is true. Wood---> The Beast Steel---> Vortex, Fof, Invertigo Flat---> The Crypt If I didn't like a ride, I wouldn't ride it, see Racer. (Not that I don't like it, I would just rather squeeze my huge self into The Beast's trains.)

Crowds on Saturdays during the Haunt
I've lucked into a trip to the Island on this coming Saturday the 1st. Just wondering what to expect crowd-wise. We're not staying for the Haunt, and I know that Sundays are pretty dead (no pun intended) from Beast1979's posts, so I figure that Saturdays before the Haunt would be similar, no?

I always knew I was big, but huge, that's a new one. Millennium Force was a tight fit, so tight in fact that I didn't even try TTD for fear of having to take a walk of shame. I don't have a problem with Maverick's restraints. Being as I'm huge and all (6'5" around 300 lbs), I found them to be very accommodating. All jokes aside, I'm very lucky that with my size, I'm still able to ride and do what I love. It seems that many new coaster trains are more forgiving to the bigger of the population.

What ever happened to the ACE stone?
So by that logic, you must be an ACEr to wear a "fanny pack?" I didn't get that memo. Terpy, you said a bad word!! Fanny packs on the other hand . . . Who still wears those? Not this ACE'r. I do, and that's because I don't want all that stuff in my pockets when I'm on a coaster. It's easier to have it in a pack rather than have to deal with the uncomfortable feeling of my wallet jabbing me in my leg.
