Those "something-or-others" from the '08 season were, how do I say, tchotchke. I would've been addicted just like you but it was all bleh. Mr. Helbig himself stated somewhere that we will be "out of our seats about half the time." Take that for what it's worth, but it sounds fun.

Any idea as to why the season pass preview night was announced, then suddenly in limbo? Unless the park doesn't want to advertise it too early, I can't think of any reason. Hopefully someone in the know will be able to shed some light in the near future.

Terp, please tell me that was just an oversight on your part. I almost fell off my chair when I read that. In addition to all the advice you've already received, I would like to throw in my 2 cents. If you're only going to make it down once, I would get a ride on Son of Beast. In fact, I would try to hit all the coasters, they're all unique in their own ways. I will cede that SoB is a rough ride, but if you've braved Mean Streak, you should be fine. Hope you have fun and welcome to the forums.

Me too, except that it wasn't Diamondback, but I thought it was. That was wierd.

There are other spots on Firehawk where the green paint is showing, specifically the stretch nearest to the queue right before the flip to enter the loop. Other than that, if I already didn't know, I'd have thought it was new also.

Gator, I know it's not funny, but I was cracking up at your descriptions of the submerging of your vessel. I'm glad you are able to laugh a bit about it now, and perhaps you'll even get that profanity filter looked at. Thanks for the TR.

Speaking of prices, when I told my Dad that I bought season passes for the '08 season I told him I would try to go as much as I could. His response was "Are you crazy with gas being so expensive?" I'm not going to let the high price of gas affect what I love to do. I have to buy it anyway, and round trip from my apartment to KI is only a 1/4 tank. If I went with my girlfriend, we alternated driving so that was nice. That being said, my in park spending was close to nonexistent. I did splurge on the drink wristbands a couple of days, and there was this Bengals stuffed bear that I was trying to win all season, but the most I spent at KI in one day was maybe 20$ and that was because I made the mistake of eating at the diner near Vortex. I fully understand that the park is trying to get us to spend money on the property, but in my eyes, until the quality meets the price, I'll continue with what I've been doing.

Sorry, folks. I couldn't sell my extra ticket if I wanted to (that one is my girlfriend's). We'll both be there. If anything changes, I'll do my best to see if I can hook someone up.

I should be able to finagle some things to make it on the 31st. We'll see how it all shakes out. I definitely want to go.

I'll be taking a paid day off for the 17th, but I've earned that privilege. Just like I earned the privilege to attend the announcement, I've worked to earn those days, and I'll be rewarding myself. I'm glad I'm not in school anymore.

So there's a better seat than the front of the last car? I need the leg room but if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I still have to figure out the whole numbering system.

What do the weather bods on here think of NOAA? That's what I use to see what the Mason weather will be like. Most of the time it's partially right sometimes.

HEY!!! I'm a relative young'n and I still remember some of that. At least the concession stand, and the switchbacks being full and such. Heck, I even remember waiting in a line for The Beast and looking straight up and seeing the Eiffel Tower standing over me. Man that was a long time ago.

True, but it won't be the same experience. Opening day at KI is different from any other day. Isn't opening day technically on Sunday? I'm not sure. I'd love to know though. In the time it takes me to process my new pass the que for DB will probably be filled. I got mine processed in November. You'll see me there in the DB queue, probably not for long since the capacity I'm told will be quite nice. As for me, I can't wait for Diamondback, and I can't wait to make new memories this coming season. I'm getting excited just thinking about it (and I've been thinking about it since November 1st). I can't stop talking about how awesome next year is going to be.

As much as that would feed my ego, somehow I doubt that CF/KI would go for it. I'll see what I can do.
