Money kind of isn't my number one reason for working at pki- I do it for the atmosphere, the wonderful people I get to work with, the oh-so-exciting rides to work, then money. If it really came down to it, I would do it for free if money wasn't offered. (I would work less often, though...)
  2. I hope so. If they decide to, maybe I could try to attend it as long as it doesn't interfere with school. (hehe, I'm actually typing up this reply in one of my school's graphics labs during English class, but, oh well.)
  3. Delirium- Nothing beats a well-built HUSS ride.
  4. Bobby has a point. It may take me a while to put together a huge list of tips for new ride ops, but I'll think about it. As far as I know, you don't get asked questions on pki4fun.com. It's a place where you can see what kind of employee benefits you get- ie: funcentive point count and store, special employee nights, employee appreciation week, slideshow, etc.
  5. have u tried logging into pki4fun.com with your birth month and day? you also need your employee number- it's on your ID card. Very few of us have those yet. The new people need to go through orientation first before they get their ID cards. If you want tips, experiences, etc, you can pm or IM me too.

And what a comfortable closet that is! I'm amazed with how many people love our drive box (and touch screen on the panel!)
  7. They turned me down twice before I got hired. Where are you working at pki?
  8. I think sea world should have bought up the park, and brought back the dolphin show. I loved sea world when it was still here in ohio. It was kind of small, but entertaining.

During Fearfest last year, ride ops got paid an extra dollar for every fearfest hour we worked, plus, our meals were paid for.
  10. To be honest, Phantom Theater scared the sh*t out of me when I was little, and it still does. If I ever come face-to-face with any of the figures from the ride, I'd probably freak. Big time. Heck, even looking at pictures scare me.
  11. I wore khakis and a nice looking sweater. Then again, I also spent 4 hrs playing DDR waiting for my interviews. So, I was kind of sweaty by the time I started with my interviews. That, and I had lost my voice, so that didn't make things easier. Note: funny how these things happen when you look back at them. The day I signed up with pki, I had lost my voice. The day the season ended and I left, I had lost my voice again.
  12. Yeah, my death wish is to die on a pki ride.
  13. I don't want to get into another argument with you over this same topic. You could have been a bit more respectful than that.
  14. I can top all of your stories... Getting switched between Hamptons and Screecher for 12 hours straight. The only good thing about that was, I got off before most crews did. Then again, later that day I got trained on skytours, and that was the first time I had ever worked with Brad. ... in HB.
  15. To be honest, I didn't mind infield that much. The Dot/Drop crew made a bigger fuss out of it than it should have been. I've been out there for a while without a whistle, and my only gripe was that I couldn't get my signals across to the riders, because they couldn't hear me. I didn't think it was that boring, but then again, I've done an AD in west pie. NEVER AGAIN.
  16. Hmmm. I always got sent to either WWC or the Log Flume or skyflyer. Woah, you can't blame anyone for that, but yourself. Same goes for me. I really can't blame anybody for my having to get sent to skyflyer all the time, because I was one of the few on my crew trained there. But, you were lucky enough to get flight-line trained and water sentry trained. So that's your fault, bud. My goal this year: try not to get skyflyer trained. (It's going to happen anyways, but whatever.)
  17. Yeah, but for some of us, Xtended play was a living . Let's just hope that the guests behave themselves at most of the events.
  18. Well, our seats USED to get wet. That, and yours probably won't have the special black-light effects that ours had in the beginning. I only hope that ours gets that fixed...
  19. AZ gets no respect...
  20. I would like to see more before passing judgement... and, for those who don't know, I AM in Atlanta right now, I'm just on a free internet cafe...place... it's cool. I unfourtunately won't be seeing SFOG, because it's too far away, but I will try to keep you posted in case we drive by or any thing like that.
  21. Wow! that kit is nice-looking! I don't know if I would want to spend 500 dollars for it, but I think I'm happy with my KINEX coaster building kit.
  22. So far, the good news for me is, I do not have school on Friday. The bad news is, I'm missing school because I'll be in Atlanta at that time. Somebody say 'hi' to everybody for me while you are there, and take good pictures!
  23. I think they needed to show more rides, and the oh-so-happy people working there, maybe even show some of pki's food and theming. The second commercial didn't even have real shots from our CDBB- so I was disappointed in that one more than the other. Since these commercials will have absolutely no affect on me, I considered them a very fast form of entertainment.
