  1. Ecshadow knows what it is like to be doomed to an entire season of seat-checking. I personally don't mind seat-checking that much on Delirium, but driving the ride gives me a good break from the ordinary. Sometimes people just need to sit down after a while. It took me a VERY long time to get signed off to drive my rides- but it was well worth the wait.
  2. I have never been in the extreme seat, but I want to so bad! I have just recently grown fond of riding tomb raider:the ride, thanx to Ricky. And, after being one of the Level 2 club last season, I still love to check seats there.
  3. This is so far off topic- I'm wondering how it even got this far.
  4. As a part of our start-ups procedure at Slingshot, we have to have a lvl-1 trained associate test-ride every morning. As you can tell, I was a likely candidate. I also test rode during training day, but then again, we all did.
  5. ^*coughLAMEcough*
  6. Oh yeah! Slingshot is da best eva! (especially if you've ridden it more than 30 times in one season)
  7. shoes + teddy in box for small amount of time = no effect. Need I say more?
  8. The wind from the swinging gondola would sweep them into the pit. It has happened before. You're forgetting our 'cheesegrater' floor drops out when the ride starts, so the only place to put loose articles inside the ride area is in our weighed-down metal storage bins. No matter where you put the flip flops outside the boxes and in the ride area, they will get blown into the pit.
  9. I truly trust the source where this is coming from Barnyard, but I believe the smoothest seat in the ride is 1-2.
  10. Having scooters back would be nice, but it's not going to happen. I'd like to see a ride like, 'tomb raider: the ride' from Paramounts Canada's Wonderland. It's a steel- prone coaster, but with only 4 riders per cycle. It looks cool.
  11. As for the 'foot boxes' are concerned, people put their shoes in there so that they won't lose them. Plain and simple. If they left them on the floor, they would end up in the pit under the ride, and would have to walk around the park all day barefoot. -And the shoes do not change the way your beloved stuffed animal smells. -At least noone has used our loose article bins as a barf bag. -Score one for Delirium.
  12. Sparky, you know why I left... I know you were lonely, and your girlfriend was driving slingshot at that time, but that wasn't exactly a good reason to LOCK ME INSIDE THE DRIVE BOX. I had finished my shift, and I had a very important person to tend to.
  13. Don't forget to keep looking over your shoulder to make sure those pouches are zipped! Everyone knows that the right way to go is checking bars in a circle. The way we Delirium ride ops check bars is almost graceful- crossing each other's paths at least twice, and continuing to walk in a circle. No pouches to mess around with- we have 3 metal storage bins to take care of that dirty work. -AND WE GET A TAN!!!
  14. ^ Now that's not nice. (But it's likely to be true.) Don't judge until you've seen me check bars. I compensate for my shortness. Anybody who has seen me check bars can vouch for me. Isn't that right, U.H.?
  15. That lost feeling is cool, especially when you ride in the front seat at night. Lots of wind, lots of darkness. I haven't ridden enough rides to beat that out, yet. I have only been on one other woodie at another park, and it doesn't hold a candle to The Beast. The Screeching Eagle at Americana. That ride was one of the best in the park, but it's nothing much at all.
  16. Yeah, sparky's right. I just turned 60 inches this summer- so now I'm tall enough to ride it! -If I wasn't tall enough to ride slingshot, I wouldn't have made my inside joke. Aaron B- you know what I mean. (32!!!) -so what if I'm the shortest person on the DSS crew, or maybe AZ altogether- I'm still a nice person.
  17. It's not pki that makes these decisions, it's the paramount company itself. Trust me, if pki was to make the decision to rip out the scooters, they most likely wouldnt- because of all of the dedicated fans of the ride. They did what they had to do, because the head honcho somewhere in Viacom wanted the scooters someplace else. We still have Delirium, right? Why gripe? Things could be a whole lot worse... we could be suffering from the same fate as Americana.
  18. I don't forsee any rides leaving next year- some may get repainted, but not leaving. We've taken one too many rides last year, why would we take even more out? Because Viacom told us to. It's nothing we can control. We've learned that the hard way.
  19. Yeah I am a little bit---But I don't like rides that I don't fit on----Gay ride--- Ahem- there is a ride in our park that I'm barely tall enough to fit on.
  20. For some odd reason, this board and the ride itself is starting to make me feel more and more mediocre by the minute. Delirium is still a special ride, and comparing it to it's clone at Cedar Point really isn't that fair. If/when I ever go to Cedar Point, this will be one of the rides I will plan to NOT ride. It's like buying McDonalds in Japan. Why do it over there when you could do it over here? It's the same thrill, and I don't think the riders will feel much of a difference if it really does go 3 feet higher than our own. I remember when they were at pki, visiting the park, just to see how well Delirium was working out for the guests. I knew waaaay ahead of time that they were going to get one.
  21. no offense, but pki has kind of lost faith in it's HUSS rides. Both of the giant HUSSes break down enough to drive anyone crazy-the only exception is Troika. As much as I'd like to get another HUSS in the park, I don't forsee it happening.
  22. I'm not going aaanywhere near it. I'm a little too unsightly for that kind of thing.
  23. I'll try to ride it when the lines aren't bad(if there is a time when the lines aren't bad...) and when the ride is fully operating-pyrotechnics and all. I may speak out against it, but I still have a little faith left in it- enough to ride it.
  24. I'm compiling a list of songs I've heard in AZ. -Escapade -Let's hear it for the boy -I'll be there for you -Get on your feet -Footloose -Saturday night
  25. Now, come on, at least they aren't JJmisskick. It could be worse.
