  1. Have you visited Dollywood lately? There ticket prices are really high compared to other small parks. I guess I won't be visiting there until they put in more rides like Cedar Point. They have 4 major rides and they are very expensive in my opinion.
  2. There's nothing mentioned on the web site that they are having the perks like last year and the Maxx Pass/Maxx Pass Plus Pass isn't a Gold Pass. Cedar Fair never did these things in the past with their parks I just assumed they got rid of them when I didn't see it on the website.
  3. You should be able to get Joe Cool at PKI since they aren't offering the Gold Pass Perks any longer. This is a bummer I'm going to miss the perks that Paramount offered I hope they return in the future. Will PKI still have early ride times like they had last year?

I saw on the website they are selling tickets for buffet/admission at Wings diner. Are tickets also available at the park for season pass holders or on line?
  5. Maverick is using seats with shoulder restraints. Are these the same type of trains used on Storm Runner at Hershey Park? They look very similar?
  6. The Steel Venom roller coaster at Geauga Lake has been closed almost all season is there a reason for this? Will they reopen the coaster next year?
  7. Most enthusiasts ride the record breakers to compare with other coasters that aren't that notorious. I prefer the record breakers to ordinary coasters because they do something different/unusual. Maverick looks awesome on the website! I hope it boosts attendence.
  8. I went to Geauga Lake for the last day of the season on Sunday Sept. 17th it was the Octoberfest. I hope they bring it back next year for a few weekends and bring back Halloween Haunt. It seems strange that they're only open 4 months and the other parks are open 6-7 months. I'm going to miss the park this Fall and Halloween Haunt. Also I feel they should add more authentic German food vendors and have more German selections/dinners instead of sandwiches.
  9. Where did you get your information about Voyage? The Voyage is the 3rd longest coaster at 1.2 miles long. It is the 3rd fastest coaster at 67.5 mph. Also it is the 4th tallest coaster at 173 feet tall. It features 5 underground tunnels, and 3 overbanked 90 degree turns. This coaster is a record breaker. Check out Roller Coaster Database for more information about record holders. It also was voted the best new coaster for 2006 by The Golden Ticket awards. It also placed #2 for wooden coasters.
  10. I feel Geauga Lake needs to have a buffet type of restraunt added to the park where people can eat for a fair price of $10 I think more people would eat in the park if they had this type of set up in the pavillions/restraunt and you buy a ticket before you enter the park and buy it by a certain time of the day. If they allow people to buy a parking pass for the park people will spend more on food and souveneirs when they visit and play more games. I also think they need to put an aerator/chlorine in the ponds around the park and get rid of the green stinking algea. This isn't very appealing to look at or smell at an amusement park.
  11. I am going to buy my parking pass at GL this weekend I'll let you know what I'm told but Cedar Point said I can buy a parking pass for both CP and GL and any other park if I want to buy it.
  12. Son of Beast will run again next season. The park needs a major drawer to the park and this one is it. The tallest, fastest, and only wood looping coaster in the USA. The park has other good attractions but this is the main reason that people go to this park. I will be the first in line when it reopens next season.
  13. I recently e-mailed Maureen Kaiser to ask about the status of Sonny and she replied back to me. She stated that since July 9th incident, we have been working tirelessly with State of Ohio Department of Agriculture. They have replaced the affected wood and are running tests on the ride. Though they don't have an exact date as to when the ride will open, we are committed to making sure it does reopen.
  14. I feel Geauga Lake and Wild Water Kingdom is a very good park. They have 10 coasters and they all are great. The park side isn't as nice as the water park side but I feel if Cedar Fair spends some money and fixes it up-repaint stuffs, fixes ride ques loading stations, and remodels it and adds a new coaster this will boost attendence. They haven't put a major coaster into this park in years and they need a hyper coaster or a steel coaster with alot of hills, tunnels, and I feel this would draw more people into the park.
  15. I visited Cedar Point this weekend and I inquired about parking passes and they said you can buy a seperate parking pass for Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, and any other park you want to visit. Is Kings Island going to have a parking pass for sale this season?
  16. I think their prices are very reasonable at Cedar Point/GL. I feel admission at PKI is very high compared to CP. If they are having problems with attendence figures it doesn't make any sense to raise prices. People will not go to the parks if you raise the prices too high. $40 for admission plus $10 for parking. That's $200 for a family of 4 to go for one day. Not all families can afford that price. Alot of things to consider also gas prices, unemployment, income levels, and temperature for this summer wasn't very hot. You can't swim at a water park that's outdoors if the temperature is cold.
  17. I just visited Geauga Lake and Wild Water Kingdom today and they are selling season passes for 2007. The cost is $69.95 for a regular season pass for ages 3-61 48" or taller. Junior/Senior passes under 48" or over 62 years of age are $49.95. Maxx Pass is $125, Maxx Pass Plus is $149.95 for ages 3-61, Junior/Senior Maxx Pass Plus is $79.95. Season long parking pass is available for GL&WWK for $45.00 Sticker only. 2007 Season passes must be ordered by November 15, 2006. They are doing this via mail. If we purchase season passes and GL&WWK closes will we get a refund? They also have a phone number for information to call 330-562-7131 ext 0. Mail order with payment to: Geauga Lake 1060 N. Aurora Rd., Aurora, OH 44202 Attn: Season Pass Orders. Please allow 7-10 business days to process orders. Vouchers for new orders will be mailed 3-5 days after order is processed. Renewal orders will be processed when received; however, new ID cards for renewal orders will not be mailed until April 2007. All orders will be sent through US mail.
  18. A recent news article posted on The Point Online stated that Cedar Fair laid off several workers at GL&WWK. The attendence is down at this park and Cedar Fair wants to cut costs. Is Geauga Lake's future uncertain?
  19. The people in Ohio shouldn't have to buy 3 passes in order to get parking included with their pass. Cedar Point and Geauga Lake have put parking on passes in the past years if you buy Joe Cool. This is crazy and confusing how they are doing things this year. I liked it better the way it was last year. Why doesn't Cedar Point sell a Soak City add on? Why not have a pass that includes GL&WWK Michigan's Adventure is selling a combo pass that includes Cedar Point. Paramount pass good for Paramount/Cedar Fair parks. Cedar Point combo good for all Cedar Fair parks. I definately am not buying a Maxx or a Maxx Plus Pass this year until they come out with a parking pass for Ohio people. It sounds better to buy the Maxx/Maxx Plus pass but when you factor in parking Ohio people are better off buying the regular passes if they visit frequently during the summer.
  20. Cedar Point has season pass information on their web site for 2007. A regular season pass is $94.95 and they have a parking pass for $50. There is no mention of a combination ticket with Geauga Lake and Wild Water Kingdom at this time. Also there is no Combo Pass at this time. You also have the option of a Maxx Pass and a Maxx Plus Pass. Season passes go on sale September 22, 2006.
  21. The KI pass is probably what I will buy also because as of right now they have no parking pass for the parks if you buy a Maxx or Maxx Plus Pass and I live in Ohio and visit these parks frequently during the summer. I e-mailed Maureen and asked her to clarify a few questions I'll let you know if I hear anything else. I wish Paramount still owned the parks. I don't like the changes that are occuring right now but I guess I will have to adjust.
  22. I just saw a preview of the new coaster on the news and it looks like it's got alot of theming, scenery, and hills in it. I can't wait to try it.They are calling it a ground terrain coaster are there anymore coasters of this nature or is this a new type of coaster? Cedar Point needs a themed coaster and a family attraction that everyone can ride. I hope everyone can enjoy it and it doesn't pull too many G's in the inversions that people grey out and can't ride it.
  23. I was surfing the other websites and I noticed that PCWL doesn't have a Maxx Pass or a Maxx Pass Plus pass and they got rid of their parking pass. Also their regular pass is $71.50. I also noted that PCW is only $55 for a regular pass $90 for a Maxx pass, PKD is $65 for regular, $90 Maxx , PKI is $75 for a regular, $125 for Maxx. Why are prices varying from place to place? Why hasn't PGA started selling passes yet? Why can't PCWL buy a Maxx or Maxx Plus pass? When is Cedar Fair going to make an announcement regarding season passes for the other parks they own? It seems to me like we are being ripped off. Last year we paid $90 for a season pass and we got 4 other parks with it plus perks. This year we have to pay the same amount of money and only get to visit 1 park unless we buy a Maxx Pass which doesn't include parking. This is kind of messed up if you ask me. I wish things were like they were last year and that Paramount still owned the parks. We also don't get any perks with the pass either this year. This is a bummer. I hope they return in the future.
  24. I'm an adrenaline junky and I like the record breakers or something new and different that hardly anyone else has. I hope that the coasters they build in the future aren't all geared this way. It just seems like a let down after Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster to have a roller coaster of this nature. I was expecting more of a record breaker or something different like a diving coaster, 4th dimension, or Aquatrax coaster.
  25. Did anyone hear anything today about parking passes for Ohio parks. Cedar Point is starting to start on Season pass page for 2007. There are no details yet however how they are going to work Geauga Lake/Cedar Point passes or parking. I hope they have a parking pass for all three parks in Ohio or a national parking pass that can be used at all the parks. I would prefer the Ohio pass to the other because I don't visit that many of the parks out of state that often unless they add something new that I really want to ride.
