Which Giga name will be coming to Kings Island
How anyone could possibly believe that theme costs is going to be more than the price of the completed steel coming out of Clermont Steel Fabricators is beyond me...

2019 Meals and Restau...RANTs
Even if you don't have one of those state-of-the-art space-age coolers, here's a couple of tips for keeping things good and cold... Have all food/beverage items pre-cooled (i.e. put in refrigerator overnight) the cooler's job is to keep it cold, not make it cold Bring cooler inside (starting out with a hot cooler is a bad idea), clean it out Put all beverage items in bottom (single layer, upright, allow for some space) Surround cans/bottles with ice (let ice get down between everything), cover completely Put your food in zip-lock bags (keeps it dry) Place food on top of ice layer Surround food with ice packs (if you have them), or just fill remainder of cooler with ice to cover (be gentle to not crush your sammies ) In the car, cover the cooler with a blanket to add an extra layer of insulation against the heat and sunlight Don't forget, close that drain plug! (don't want a car full of water from a leaking cooler) In general, don't over-pack the cooler with food/beverage "stuff". You need an appropriate amount of ice or ice-packs. Good starting rule of thumb, half and half (50% stuff, 50% ice). I've camped with all styles of coolers, from good to crappy. You can get by with the flimsiest of coolers with decent prep. Though I cannot stress point #1 enough, starting with everything cold goes a long way in helping you out. As for eating at KI, pack items which are quick and ready-to-eat. You don't want to be doing meal-prep from the back of your car. Prep at home, pack for grab and eat. Have fun

Employee suing for sexual harassment
Yeesh, I'm glad I don't live in your world of judge, jury, and executioner. Just what we need--every criminal having to live off the government teat to live out the rest of their miserable life. Who do you think is going to pay for that??...Guess what, we all do. We suck in this country at fully rehabilitating criminals, it is all about "doing their time" and then dropping them out of the system to figure out how to get back into society. To be clear, I am defending no-one in this particular case. Those accused may be the scum of the earth, but let's allow due process for everyone involved.

^ Thanks @XBeastGirlX Now I expect manufacturer information and full PANTONE® color information by the end of the day. Get to it people!! Ya'll have to admit that the level of sleuthing on here is downright hilarious , I'm loving it... Come on KI, throw us a bone! Don't you see how desperate our group has become?!?- Orion Construction Photos
Based on the plans filed, there is a bit of of underground utility work. I would expect to see some trenching soon for some of the high voltage electrical work. Likely before anything vertical takes place.- Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas
That there is a "ship" ya landlubber- Decoding 2020
There are no "leaked blueprints", at least not those which were scanned and obtained from building department by numerous people here on the forum. These documents are public record, sunshine laws dictate they must be made available to anyone who requests them. KI cannot give an ultimatum to anyone to hide this data from the public. They can however wait until the last minute to submit plans for upcoming work, only submit the minimal required information for the scope of work, and submit plans for approval in stages.- Decoding 2020
Digging this post up from 57 pages back (wow...) regarding lift lighting. Besides the safety egress lighting (@Hawaiian Coasters 325), and the DMX base lighting (@thatguyfromohio) it appears we will also have chase lighting similar to Valravn.- Decoding 2020
While the blackout/greyout conversation is interesting, maybe someone should throw up a poll to allow the conversation continue further there? Regarding decoding, I've been seeing a lot of new faces here going over items which have been somewhat "settled" by the community based upon things we've learned/seen from the blueprints. Now that this thread is 200+ pages, I'm wondering if would be a good idea to refresh the good stuff from waaayy back. Searching this thread for the good nuggets is difficult. I've tried to bookmark some good posts, but need to sort through them. If everyone posts some links to their favorite/interesting posts from previous weeks/months, that could bring some cream back to the top?- Decoding 2020
That's some impressive zoom action there, guessing it was a little windy up on the tower? Thanks for posting/sharing so those of us who can't get to the park can see! This confirms that actual box footings are getting formed on top of the piers. Good progress so far!- Decoding 2020
Thanks @BSBMX for taking the time to lay these out! While we normally only see what is going on at the surface and think "wow that's a big concrete block", there is a lot of support underneath to handle all of the various loads.- Decoding 2020
^^That image is butchered so much I wouldn't even call it a photo- Decoding 2020
Yeah, no. I was glad to see it (Firehawk) go- KI Blog: The Beast 40 years of terror
Per KI blog post: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2017/october/the-beast-the-original-biggest-baddest-tallest-fastest-wooden-roller-coaster-in-the-world In 1987, the pond over which the station and lift resided was drained for the addition of an accessibility ramp, and the exit was re-routed.- Disappointed by ride advertisement?
My childhood memory matches yours! I always thought it was much darker inside previously than in recent years. The mirror effect was rather cool!!- Decoding 2020
While the other items I won't get into (not really decoding, seriously enough already!), I can relate to your above concern. While Project X seems to be getting themed to align with the X-base location per station side views (which is awesome ) I wonder if the coaster being visible throughout Coney Mall may detract from some of its quaintness. The Antique Auto's are literally going to be in the morning shadows of the lift hill.- Decoding 2020
BTW, really looking forward to your No Limits update! @DustinTheNow- Decoding 2020
I'm thinking the drop from the top of the helix 854.0' down 106.5 feet to the bottom under the lift at 747.5' back up 88.2 feet to the last curve at 835.7' back down 56.4 feet to the valley at 779.3' will burn a bit of energy before finally going back up 46.4 feet to the final brake run which is 825.7' Not so sure comparing brake run height is a worthy metric. The end of this ride will be quite cool.- Decoding 2020
Someone asked about the lift lights a few pages back (sorry this is a very active thread), and where I came to the conclusion of stream/chaser lights possibly like Valravn, see highlighted section from lift electrical prints below, circuit LP-247B-7: Personally I'm glad this lift will look different in the skyline than Diamondback (the single point egress lights every so often don't really highlight the lift).- Decoding 2020
I'm not completely sure, but isn't that the exact location of the former arch that was just removed (including footings)? If so that may be due to the timing of the drawings (timeline of when KI provided the base plots to which the coaster was then overlaid). Others correct my memory if needed...- Decoding 2020
I'm actually really curious what this new ride entrance is going to look like. I'm trying to come up with other ride examples where you go through a defined "building" as the ride entrance. Seems to be a new one for KI. Yeah Mystic Timbers has the archway with a truck, and The Beast has the old foodservice building (wish it still existed)...wonder what will be inside the Project X entry building?? Edit: also add Flight of Fear to the list, but I always consider the enclosed queue with storyline part of the ride experience, not just a gateway.- Decoding 2020
Per the Drawing Index on the first page, there are a lot of sheets in this drawing package. Has anyone obtained a copy of the full set? Or were these specific sheets the only ones available? Also, has anyone made a nice PDF scan of these drawings anywhere? I've been looking around for a link... Thanks to those who have local access!- Decoding 2020
I'd say possibility of 0%. Electrical plans show circuitry for your typical chain lift design.- Decoding 2020
It looks that way, as it is quite a distance from the main station, and I'd imagine there's a compressor in the downstairs rooms shown on the station plans. - Decoding 2020
