Yeah I noted a few pages back, but any discussion about the actual ride and various interesting elements have been lost in all this non-decoding crap discussion. Maybe we should make a different thread about "your disappointment", "you shouldn't feel entitled", "Cedar Fair will never upstage Cedar Point at KI", "KI is going downhill", "KI is no longer worth my money" that this thread is devolving into... I'd like to discuss with people who want to geek out on the fine details in the plans. Maybe I'll stop back tomorrow when things die down.

Yeah, this forum is clearly their go to for "breaking news." I wonder what date the plans were received at Mason Building Department? File information shows a date of 5/6, but I can't believe they've been sitting for that long with no one pulling them till today. You would think WCPO would have someone checking there often...

Per the electrical on the lift hill, appears this coaster will have a strip/chase lighting package (notice the black dashed line going up the lift). Looking forward to the new skyline of Kings Island in 2020 at night!

Thanks, it was hard to read the existing images. High five to those who have posted links to higher resolution scans!

Someone else mentioned the queue being fully in the sun, but there are three rectangular shaded areas (with lighting) indicating there will be some type of overhang/covering/shelter. Since we don't have all the sheets scanned it is hard to tell about the specifics.

Anyone else notice a "NEW PROP. BUILDING" just in front of the station stairs? Looks like the Fast Lane and regular lines both go through this building. Interesting they use the term "building", which makes me think something possibly enclosed? My reasoning, the "EXISTING LOCKER AREA" is open, and the "NEW STATION HOUSE" would be somewhat open. Also notice how the "EXISTING RIDE PHOTO BUILDING" is getting reworked as an entrance to the ride. I'm really intrigued by what is going into the theme work for this ride.

Definitely not a waste! For those of us who can't get to the park to see what is going on, this is awesome!!

I'm not reasoning them to be fake, just trying to figure it out. This is a "decoding" thread, right? Just writing down some thoughts that come to mind while I compare pictures. Hoping others can chime on with their thoughts...

So looking further trying to align footings to "potential" layout, what is up with the offsets of ST2-2R / ST2-2L and ST2-1L / ST2-1R and ST1R / ST1L. The layout shows this as a straight section of track? Things aren't lining up nicely here...

Odd, the plans (which we know are legitimate) don't seem to work so well with the curve coming out of the helix... Note how many of the footers are pairs (L/R). Why would this show all the footers for the lift, station, and even maintenance stairs, but not have footings necessary for track to cross under the lift? There would definately be something in this defined "work area".

Also of interest "five pages of drawings" per that article. Anybody post a link to high res scans of all 5 pages yet? We've still been working with a subset here in this discussion.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you share with the group earlier?

Every image I've found isn't clear enough to read any text on the leaked document. Besides they are all zoomed into a specific area over the project site and not the whole document. Is there more that those have seen?
  14. Maddog replied to fryoj's topic in Kings Island
Is there more than just those few images I've seen on Reddit of the "leaked" documents in the original PDF that those who "have seen" which make it seem legitimate? I ask because on the Red Traced layout image, there is clearly some funkiness in the right third of the image. Notice how all of the contour lines and existing paths/elements are disconnected. It is as if someone took two images and tried to stretch to match them together, but the scale isn't aligning right with all the disconnected lines. If this was one full page drawing, this is clearly a hack. This looks more like a concept mock-up someone has done--not real prints. Contour lines don't just suddenly shift all in a perfect vertical line on real prints. Heck even the track has a funky offset which doesn't make sense.

Just driving clicks/traffic and being the first to report, that is all these news stations are about anymore. I find little if any actual 'news' in that article. It is sad that article made it beyond an editors desk.
  16. ^ I wouldn't bet on that. Pictures already show multiple codes on the parts laying around, others have already shown/decoded the coding scheme used there(there's a great write upon Reddit). There are definately multiple projects onsite at the plant.
  17. I care, hence my post earlier in this thread (I think now moved) trying to daylight some of the unstated rules that exist here. Anything to get everyone on the same page is a good thing. However, it seems that asking questions is deemed by the crowd as "disrespectful" to the mods, so I just stopped. I'll wait a month until the park is open and then it is fair game, until the rules change again...
  18. Which reinforces my point, right now the focus is on 2019. Once the park opens things change. Anyone saying the park should have "already been teasing teasing by now" isn't thinking in the best interests of the park.
  19. I think people forget that dollars (i.e.sales) are what matter to a business. The marketing focus right now would be to drive up sales of tickets/passes for the 2019 season. For the park to talk about or reveal anything which wouldn't be available until 2020 doesn't make much sense yet. Especially before the 2019 opening day. The focus from marketing right now is what is coming in 2019. See the blog and social media posts... Once activity becomes too hard to hide, then it makes sense to start teasing.
  20. Yeah, the relationship seems to be a little more 'complicated' than what one would expect from an independent site. My take, it is hard for people who post when inconsistencies abound. It would be easier for everyone to follow along if the mods give some better pointers. After-the-fact schooling always leaves a bitter taste.
  21. Since this reads as though you receive directive from the park regarding their wishes 'per project'. To help people here understand, why don't you share them (directives/wishes/policies) with us directly? Make a sticky or something so people can be pointed in the right direction. People come and go on this site. To expect everyone to follow this ambigious policy and understand this ambigious relationship with the park is just a wish. Giving everyone some clearer upfront guidelines would prevent up a number of back and forth discussions under the various topics. I don't post much, but I'm a regular lurker on this site, and even I l'm confused at times what the mods consider acceptable.
  22. Wow, resurrecting an old thread here. This is from two years ago.
  23. It is a little sad...very sterile feeling in there now. How many people do you think will actually play those claw games?
  24. Where do you see anyone saying "roof deformation" in the news articles? Sensationalist much?
  25. From looking at the pictures one could argue the roof didn't fail at all, rather the HVAC support straps failed causing ductwork to fall into the pool. But that wouldn't make as much of a headline...
