I'm having a hard time orienting myself... is the green building the gas station? And the foundation with the posts is the station?

Let me say something to all the people complaining about the announcement- no one really cares. The removal Antique Cars was one of the biggest upsets to families who have been going to Kings Isl

  • So my 4 year old son got a bunch of train/car track for his Birthday. What did we build tonight? The Kings Mills Antique Auto's course!!  Sorry no POV was taken!

  • Best addition of the last 10 years. Taste those salty enthusiast tears.

You're welcome!

Yeah gas station is up and foundation for which looks like the main loading station.

Here is an article from the Cincinnati Business Courier discussing the contractor building the Antique Car Buildings:  https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2018/12/19/cincinnati-contractor-helps-bring-antique-cars.html

The article mentions TRA Design as the architect, Cole Engineering Solutions as the structural engineer and SHP as the mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineer on the project.  Here is a link to the TRA Design website.  And some of their recent entertainment related projects.  It must be really cool to work at that firm and to be able to work on some of those projects.  http://tra-design.net/team/

I wonder if they will keep those old time street lights. I love those...I know weird but since I have grown up all my life going to KI I have loved those lights.

I love that shirt!  Is that KI branded?

Nope.  It says Cincy Shirts.

It looks like someone already made a mock up of the ride.

Looking at Gould’s website, ride will have theoretical capacity of 400 pph.

Interesting how they’re using joists to connect the roof girders. I’m curious if that is being done on initial assembly, or when all the frames are in place for final assembly.

^Yeah it is.  I wonder if our cars are going to have cover tops on them like the old ones did, or they will be like what Valleyfair has?   The advertisement where you can ‘pretend’ to be riding in one,  shows our cars will have a top on them.

Well, the 1911 Model T had one, so chances are it will.

See why woudl the park invest money into creating this when they can get an enthusiast to do it for free.

So #whatsintheshed?

I noticed that, too. I wondered if it was being built for storage, but noticed they had entrances on both sides. It will be interesting to see what's in it. I'm wondering if there may be teasers insides when the ride opens. Maybe a reference to Mystic Timbers and now maybe even Copperhead Strike. Would be neat if they referenced every ride that has a tunnel or indoor section.

Edit: It's the covered bridge.
