Kings Island Announces Kings Mills Antique Autos for 2019!

Custom striping like that would cost way to much. The tiques will likely be multiple solid colors.

Let me say something to all the people complaining about the announcement- no one really cares. The removal Antique Cars was one of the biggest upsets to families who have been going to Kings Isl

  • So my 4 year old son got a bunch of train/car track for his Birthday. What did we build tonight? The Kings Mills Antique Auto's course!!  Sorry no POV was taken!

  • Best addition of the last 10 years. Taste those salty enthusiast tears.

Why did they remove the wooden fence with winterfest going on? People might try to go over there and walk around in that.

They never had a wooden fence set up for this construction area.  They had the temporary chain link fences set up during Haunt (just like they do for Winterfest), and if it wasn`t an issue for Haunt, I doubt that it will be an issue during Winterfest.

The chain link fence is still there.

Any speculation on what you guys think will be on the billboards throughout the course of the ride?

What every other park has on theirs:

New Autos on FL+ only. It makes sense, considering it is a mid-range capacity ride and large number of daily FL users.

Not to mention, since it is the new attraction for next year, it requires people to spend extra money to be able to use Fast Lane to get on the new attraction.  Thus making more money for the park.

What is the Jukebox Diner?

Also can anyone explain what got torn down to make room for the tiques?

The Jukebox Diner is right acorss from Shake Rattle and Roll and has a 50's feel.

The old Flight Commander pad and que, the Dinos merchandise tent, the Ice refil station, Peach Basket along with a chunk of the Coney Mall midway were torn out to make room for the Antique Cars. Basically everything between Killmart and the bathrooms next to WindSeeker is gone.

Here are some photos I just took. Looks like the formwork for the station is going up, and the grading for the paths and ponds is getting done.

That’s probably a good thing. Not going to pull crowds like a new coaster will but it’s still a new ride and something that everyone can ride, and is something with lower capacity so lines will probably be long still.

The queue's were almost always full at the old Antique Cars even on a slow day.

It's capacity was not very good, and I assume this one won't be much better.  In theory, they could get up to 1600 riders per hour, but I would imagine it'll be closer to half of that.

I'm sure ridership for Vortex, Shake Rattle n Roll, and WindSeeker will increase exponentially which might help lines some.

Some photos from this evening. Roof trusses, framing lumber, and sheathing have been delivered.

I have to ask... does anyone else genuinely hope they pull the plans from the old cue line buildings to build this one the same as the old ones?

Nice pictures, things seem to be moving along nicely!

Maybe this should be moved to the original thread?
