If you could ask Don one question.

Lets see if Don's really a King:

What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Would that be African or European?

  • My question would be: "On average, how many times do you roll your eyes a day while reading the KI Central forum?"

No, because I don't have that kind of dough and my backyard isn't big enough to build a ride like that.

    Because I chose not to.

What do you count as hidden gems in Kings Island?

How many hours do you work per week during the summer?

How often do you get a chance to visit the park as a guest and be able to ride rides and enjoy yourself without worrying about work?

Are there going to be any ride imporvments this off season (repainting, improved trains, retracking?)

Will there be any running/walking races at Kings Island this year?

What happened to "Run Kings Island"? I noticed the event hasn't been held since 2010.

So Don, any big plans for ride number 12,000 on The Racer?

He informed us at Coasting for Kids that he has chosen to retire from riding The Racer at 11,999 rides. I take it that means that he will not get number 12,000.

He rode #11,999 with me.

Im sure he was joking if someone likes a ride a that much theres no reason to stop at some arbitrary number.. it would be one thing if it was something like 100 or 1000 but 11999? if so u gona miss it

He told me and my mom the same thing on closing day at The Beast tour.

Don, will WindSeeker be ready to open with the other rides when Opening Day comes? :) Call me crazy, but it is actually one of my favorite flat rides at the park. I just love the exhilarating experience!

Can you expand upon The Racer work going on? How extensive, does this mean a new paint job for the whole structure, or just the new pieces of wood, etc...?

I assume this doesn't include a new paint job for the whole track, if that assumption is correct is there any planning for when that could happen?

I know Jungle Jims bought the water tower in Action Zone, but Did JJ's buy anything else in the park? I heard they bought parts of the Juke Box Cafe.

even though he stoped answering questions some time ago, file this under the 'it never hurts to ask' section:

When does KI plan to announce what the current constrution is for?

Oh I don't actually expect an answer, but for does anyone else venture a guess based upon past information?

I doubt they want to take away from the opening of Gate Keeper or any other rides that have recently opened up across their chain in recent weeks, however it seems like an August announcement, leading into season pass renewal time would be ignoring the obvious work going on in front of our eyes. However, I'm sure they'd like to build up the suspense. How long was the work on Diamondback obvious before an announcement was made? Of course, this is a different management group, which seems to be a bit more open about things, so the time table for Diamondback doesn't automatically tell us anything about the timetable for the current development.

I feel sorry for the Eiffel Tower operators. On the way down last friday, she went thru her speal then asked if there were any questions. My only question was "how many times have you been asked what they're building over in the cleared lot". She smiled and said "a lot" w/ the implications that she's already getting tired of the question she can't answer.

If you dont think Don would answer the questions based on construction because you know they wont give anything away till the big reveal... then why ask?

Hey Don,

If you golf, where do you like to golf? 9/18 holes?

Wow... I saw him last weekend and just asked how he was doing. :P He was friendly, professional as always, and returned to his day as I did mine. I'm so oldie-lame!

Because, like I said, it never hurts to ask, besides with the number of new posters recently, I thought a bump of a thread with don answering a bunch of random questions might be worth while if was still willing to respond to some questions

When WindSeeker first opened, I ask Don a question regarding the ride. I have had two spinal cervical fusion surgeries and I ask him would the ride produce any harsh whipping of my neck that might put lots of stress on my neck. He said it would be ok as far as my neck would not be jerked around back and forth and side to side like roller coasters. He is very easy to talk to and will take the time to talk with you.
