I have exciting news for everyone! I am sure everyone remembers The Bat suspended coaster. You either got to ride it, saw it on tv, or saw it in person on a day it wasn't running. I am happy to report that The Bat will indeed make a return to PKI in 2004! The ride will feature modifications to fix the problems it had when it first ran at the park. The Bat will be placed in behind the Paramount FX Theater and should be ready by opening day 2004! Top Gun will be removed as it is being sold to Kennywood where it will be placed on the hillside over looking the river. The station will be located over the hill close to the river and the coaster will be renamed Phantom Phlyer at its new home in Pittsburgh! It will also intertwine with Phantom's Revenge and the Thunderbolt!

Remember folks, this is official news that you have read here on APRIL FOOLS day!

The Bat Was Closed due to sever maintance problems.

It would be very easy to make a new, old problem free, Bat... Bank the track!

That's not what the only problem was they also put the brake fins on top of the car instead of below.

What was Arrow thinking when they designed this?LOL

Not just Arrow, but the people that brought us Tomb Raider: The Ride, Delerium, and several other rides at Paramount's Kings Island. At one time, HUSS owned Arrow Dynamics ( Throughout time A.K.A: Arrow Development - Arrow HUSS - Arrow Dynamics - Arrow - S&S Arrow ) Its nice to have so many HUSS rides at PKI, but I'd like to see a few more Arrow's too. They are my favorite coaster company, and a brand new hyper or 4th Dimension would be a great addition if Kings Island plans on adding a new coaster any time soon.

Actually the brake fins were on the bottom of the train instead of being on the top like now adays. You just had it backwards.

I wish they did put a modified version of The Bat in , even though it won't happen. It just looked like it had a really cool layout.

Try to have the same layout just make it inverted, it could happen...

I wouldn't really like that, I would rather have an inverted with some inversions, although no doubt it would be interesting.

I believe The Bat is long gone... I'm pretty sure they scrapped it when they dismantled it.

Probably a peice of Vortex or something, I'm sure they recycled the steel.

Well the thing is, its a good chance that some of it is in The Vortex.

I know for sure that Vortex has the same station and some of the same lift hill stairs and footers as The Bat.

If you look close enough you can still see some of the old Bat footers between the station and the loops of Vortex.

Ironically 10 years later from this post... The Bat does return in some way!
