February 27, 200323 yr The ones on the second drop were slown down towards the end of the season thank god. The brake on top of the hill needs to be taken out I think, also the brake shed should be more gradual rather than slamming into it.
February 27, 200323 yr I'm really fed up with alll the brakes on beast its not the same old come off with a slight beating like it used to be. I liked it that way.
February 27, 200323 yr Yuppers they Should let it be and lighten up on theBrakes it does hurt thats not good when you just ate a 2 coney dogs!and wanna ride The Beast at night!
February 27, 200323 yr Coasterguy, I had the best ride when I rode The Beast at night in fog. That cannot be beaten.
February 28, 200323 yr I have also Tom. It was about 11 o'clock it was a hot day and a cool night and the fog was very dense, you couldn't see anything. Best experience on that ride ever.
February 28, 200323 yr Best ride i ever had on Beast was probably aorund 1:00 A.M. during ride nights. It was super dark, and the 2nd tunnel was super dark.
February 28, 200323 yr Yeah they are to strong, but that's how magnetic brackes are. It still reaches the same speed(around 75) because the magnetic brakes don't cause any friction and release faster. The Beast has not and never will reach 75 MPH. Try 65 MPH, and that's without trims.
February 28, 200323 yr The Beast Feels Like 65 once youve ridden SOB then you know the differennce between 65 and 75.
February 28, 200323 yr Well actually The Beast could go about 70 mph without brakes. I remember reading an advertisement for the ride when it first opened. It listed the ride as the worlds fastest rollercoaster traveling at a top speed of 70 mph. They have ran The Beast brakeless before, but that was a long time ago. Did you know that when The Beast first opened it had 4 row cars instead of 3 now?
February 28, 200323 yr No, 4 rows of seats in each car of the train, instead of 3 rows in each car. They always only had 3 trains. Edited January 1, 197056 yr by mars1825
February 28, 200323 yr Yeah each car had 4 rows, but also each train only had 5 cars (40 seats) as opposed to now with 3 rows per car and 6 cars per train (36 seats). I believe that is why If you look at the loading stalls there are 4 gates in a row at the front. Also if you are in line for the middle, you notice the arrows redirecting you at an angle after the gates open.
February 28, 200323 yr Just ask one of the guys who works on the ride how fast it goes. I mean one of the guys that does things like works on the track and clocks the speed of the ride.
February 28, 200323 yr No problem, I'll ask one of the guys from Wood Coaster Maintance when the season starts. Even though we all know its 65 M.P.H. Edited January 1, 197056 yr by FoF
March 1, 200323 yr I love how they have the little lights in the tunnel. I'll take that as you being sarcastic about the lights. I dont know why they had lights on in the tunnel, but the times i've ridden it there have only been lights on a couple times in teh concrete tunnel, although i have no idea why there was, guess someone may have forogt to turn them off or something.
March 1, 200323 yr Yeah it's just like riding FOF with the lights on you just have to be there at the right time.
March 1, 200323 yr its funny how The Beast is funner when its dark outside. And FoF is more interesting when the matinance lights are one. I have ridden it twice with the lighs on, and I remember saying when I got off, "Man, that building looks alot bigger on the inside that it does from the out."
March 1, 200323 yr I actually enjoy riding FOF with the lights on, as long as it is all the lights and not just the roof lights or something.
